Letting out my darker thoughts for once. Ramblings of a raging mind.
I feign innocence, embracing the thought that I'm all knowing, the veils of my arrogance strung tight. The bloody hound within roars its disapproval, waiting to be unleashed, sneaking; searching for a way out.
And there are nights when it does, nights, where it escapes its solitary confinement, spitting in rage.
Invisible cotton stares engulf me, traces of guilt wrap themselves around as the creature inside purrs... ravenous - another night to feed on to, another night to hold on to ...
it has found its next prey, until the next time, while I break ~ collapsing ...
I can relate to this so much! I envy writers that can release the depth & power of raw unfiltered responses to people & life. Even if I try to do such a commentary, it comes out flippant rather than gut-wrenching. Here, you've touched on gut-wrenching, in a good way (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

So there are times, when I do try prose in terms of penning out my darker thoughts which wouldn't really fit in poetry. I'm glad you like it. And that's definitely a great compliment for me, coming from you :D Thank you so much :)

True art is created when artists shed their layered armor and make themselves vulnerable to the world, revealing themselves in a normal, yet often unflattering light, and still teach us something valuable about the world and ourselves. Thanks for sharing this piece with us. It shows your strength and humility.

I agree with your words. Thank you for reflecting and sharing your thoughts, Robert. Appreciated :)
Hello my friend. I liked this poem. Honest thoughts took reader to private thoughts and places.
"Invisible cotton stares engulf me, traces of guilt wrap themselves around as the creature inside purrs, ravenous; another night to feed on to, another night to hold on to ... "
I liked the above lines. Left the reader with something to think about. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

For a short piece, this was - WOW shall we say. I really loved yor usage of words on this. The feelings I felt whilst my eyes read through it were - angry, dark, dangerous, lethal. I don't think I have ever seen you write on the dark side - maybe you should do it some more. This really was pretty damn powerful.
