Moonless Nights II

Moonless Nights II

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Ramblings of an exhausted mind.

"

When frustration runs wild and life appears meaningless, these are the times I look desperately around for freedom, to breathe freely, smell the air, experience myself and most of all - the want to be not bound ~ to life.

I look over the vast horizon, the moon, with all its beauty seems to mock me, as I have, up til now, mocked life... the shining orb hanging up in the sky whose beauty I had always admired; the only friend in my restless nights - turned its back...

as if something sparked, I realized: this is what happens when you lose the light of your sun.

It wasn't the moon all along, some time, some where, I lost sight of my sun ~ you.

Outside of love, if we allow it.. there are meanings for so much of the space above. Seems we mere mortals create poetry from the rise and fall of day and night and their flickering courtiers. Here you search for or miss someone, so vast in your mind that your words flicker on and off, stay and go, flicker yet more, Maybe, you're searching for a safe mooring.. or a dangerous one.. who knows. .

These days you writing's' more mature than ever, it comes from a place that's surely existed before, Yumna.

You weaved the world of inter-dependency, where things are dependent to each other. And actually you added the beauty to it. It seems magical observation that moon is nothing without sun.

Excellent Job Dr.

reflections seem to be answers to questions in this existence, life. "you", the sun, could be any one/thing.. never lose that "you"..you'll end up writing poetry!!
Beautiful piece.

These few words shine with meanings numerous,
Each of us feels this deep resplendent grief.
Those seeing here naught but the humorous,
cast us into despair and not relief.

Time smirks at us, as we stand there alone,
'Builds character?' That notion is debunked.
No matter of the pressure or how long,
the ambiance of lonely has been junked

So, stand there, where the moon had ought to be,
One day we'll find it's found its way back home.
Content with what the memory can see,
we bathe in those reflections as we roam.

Past deeds rush in to try and make a case,
Ignoring all those tears upon the face,

lovely sentiments ...very relatable to all .. there is a release when out gazing ... whether moon, stars, oceans or suns ;) orb is pretty well worn..did you consider other options? your closing is strong medicine says i ... we do loose sight from time to time but it is in acknowledging it that we find our center once again
