Anchored II

Anchored II

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Experimental. Merely an extension of an earlier piece I wrote 'Anchored'.

"
I am ~ anchored
to the shackles of blatant
love
that holds ~ me

as the deep shores
offer me sanctuary

I resist but drift along
to the high tides

slashing; merciless
drowning in the mist

still, I am ~ anchored ---
to the shackles of blatant
love
that holds ~ me ...

Had the feel of a song. Hard and direct words. The reader can feel the place of no return. Somethings can kidnap us and make us want more. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

I did enjoy and you are welcome my friend.
Complete in a delicate nutshell! I liked the format (font/spacing), it makes the piece like the right photo can complement a story.

yes, love can keep us grounded, anchored, it can be our sand bar in the middle of a deep lake...we know we can dive into the lake because safety is always a few strokes away...where that other heart is.
