The Beginning of a New Tomorrow

The Beginning of a New Tomorrow

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay

The world had always
clawed at her deepest desires,
wherein she kept them
hidden in her heart
,

afraid, that if she voiced them,
she would be rendered dumb;
robbed of the power of her voice..
.

until, it dawned on her;
to be fearless and to
rely on her strength.

And she stood
facing the shore
,
as a
 deep calm washed over her
.
The beginning of a new tomorrow
;

the
 rising sun glowing in her eyes
,
a
s she took in the beauty of the world
.
She had missed it; among all the chaos
...

now
she embraces it.
A sigh crosses her lips,
as she vows,
to never let go...

So profound and beautiful! The image and the words reflect each other...Lyrical form and flow- lovely and original! "The world had always clawed at her deepest desires"...she may have retreated to heal....she recovered and re-entered a better, stronger self..."she vows never to let go"...Love it! Brava!

I'm glad you could visualize the imagery. Thank you for appreciating, Shaan. Means a lot 😊
I'm in love with the feel of this piece ... everything melds together so nicely. This piece captures how it feels to break free from our mental cages, regardless of what others may think. I like how the imagery in the second stanza brings out that sense of freedom while also conveying the calmness and reflective regret that goes along with it.

Quick question: Was the visual presentation (with the words aligned to the right instead of the left) meant to illustrate the poem's theme — how the woman finally feels free to express her thoughts in whatever way she wants, regardless of how unusual it may be?

' .. as a deep calm washed over her. ~ The beginning of a new tomorrow; .. .. .. '

I think both fragility and sensitivity miraculously turns into determination in these beautifully laid words. At first, there's a hint of wondering what and why.. but then, a distinct air of moving into your own chosen direction. Brava!

Having the veil lifted from our eyes - our mind - can be scary-overwhelming or overwhelmingly wonderful. It takes courage to not try to quickly replace it. The reader can feel the freedom and the wonder in this.
It's very heartfelt and beautiful Yumna.
Bravo !
