Essence of Your Scent

You held me when I needed it most;

your embrace gently soothed my heart,

making me forget all sorrows,

while basking in the essence of your scent.

Your deep blue ocean eyes 

made it easier for me to swim and rise... 

you held my hand, protecting me 

from the cruel world's ravaging waves.

In the essence of your scent I felt free,

like flying birds, chirping away;

with not a worry on their feathery wings...

my eyes close, there's only you; all the rest, a blur!

"all the rest, a blur!" great expression. I enjoyed the read very much. Have you thought how it would have been if it was written in the present tense?
I mean unless, you are reminiscing something that happened in the past. I found it beautiful either way. However, I am a fan of writing present tense...lol.

Ahh, well to be honest, these are just words. No reminiscing or anything. Pure fiction lol so I didn't think of past or present while writing this. But I like your suggestion and thoughts on this one 😊
