Promise Me

Promise Me

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

In Response to Vanessa's (Βανέσα) poem "Being" Inspired....

"
If you promise
never

To leave
my side

Sharing

with me
the burden

of my
broken shoulders

If you promise
never

To leave
my side

Until the night's
ascending

Into a new dawn

If you promise
never

To leave
my side

In this
whole world of

miseries

Then

I would
Let you

Be.

' f you promise ~ never ~ To leave ~ my side ~

Tis hard to leave someone's side when promises have been made somewhere else. Who's ever to know. There's both sadness and hope in this.. sometimes the two don't walk hand in hand.

A superb post, a very rational yet sensvtive way of being that not everyone has and some are too blind to accept.. .

(please forgive my typos. so very careless)

I'd say promises are harder kept but made easily enough...

I might be too jaded to see your msg in a hopeful light. To me, this sounds like a puzzle where one runs into the same head-knocker no matter which door is taken. Promising to never leave someone's side is pure folly in my book. There are so many ways life cannot be predicted or controlled. In effect, I'm reading your poem as a warning that nobody will ever be allowed in, since the premise of constant companionship is impossible to fulfill. Your poem feels like the ultimate irony, but it might just be me! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Yet, these promises are really kept.
But wow! You've a talent to pen down those sentiments!
Great!

promises only most will be broken and the few will be forgotten, the rest? Those have true value

So there would still be promises left even after them being forgotten and broken? Seems unlikely..
This is amazing!! Wow... seriously Yumna! This is really well worded, the words flow really well, no forced words...
I like this a lot!
Keep it up!
