A Starless Sky

A Starless Sky

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay

This dilemma of letting you go,
or keeping you with me
is unbearable...
remember you once said:

"It doesn't matter
if we aren't together,
what does matter is you,
that among the million
stars I counted,
you were the one,
who shined brighter
every time I looked."

Some things are not easy to let go
but when the time comes,
you have to make the decision
of choosing what you want.

When life gives you choices
between having it your own way or
making the person you love,
happy and content,
I've decided to do the latter,
'cause although it hurts
but who does it hurt more than me?
After all, all I've cared
is for your happiness.
Even if it does mean that
I'll have a starless sky in
a world without you...

Wow... This is so powerful and I can relate to this really deeply right now. Its hard to let go of someone, especially if you care deeply for them. You want then to be happy, but sometimes it costs your own happiness.
This is really powerful and beautifully written. I love it

Your words make us all think, what would I do in his situation. True happiness is not to be found here. Only emotional survival. A very well written poem, I enjoyed it.
Many Blessings,

I don't know if love and separation go together.
One must make the ultimate decision to leave.
I think when the person makes this choice, no amount of words with soften the blow.

Indeed the pain of letting love go is painful and yet such a noble act of love and selfless devotion. Spoken with a voice of pain and love.

It is hard and all the more, writing it down.
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it.
The poem flows with contemplation on parting and pain, coming to rest on a beautiful conclusion. One that is very real, very palpable. A great poem on separation and heartbreak YumnaKay.

Yes, this is what its all about. You are welcome Yumna. 😊
So painful. I read your words and felt the shadows swallow the sun. How deep in my soul I wish to find a love that is a divine circle, ever flowing, ever feeding the lovers, and the more they give each other the more they have to give. And yet still I seek, for how can a heart survive starless skies?
