I don't like the word goodbye. I said too many. Left a grandfather when I went to war. Break my heart still. I didn't spend more time with. Need more hello. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the amazing poetry.

Ah, that word is one of the scariest words present in the dictionary. Liked the way how you highlighted the difference between the two usages of the word...when said by you and when said to you. A hell lot of difference there for sure.
Enjoyed reading this. Great job!

'Goodbye' can be an expression of goodwill. like 'farewell' - or it can wrap up a harshly firm rejection... For Romeo, 'parting' was 'such sweet sorrow' - but he hoped to see Juliet again. But your goodbye here has a finally about it. It's interesting to reflect how a word can carry so many levels of meaning, intention and emotional loading.

Good byes are painful, sometimes painful even when you are at the giving end. However, when you realize a relationship is giving more pain than peace, then better let go. Ultimately you are the only one, who can stay for yourself.

I read that piece of yours when you posted..actually reserving my review for when I form a sensible idea about it 😉
I love it .. the simplicity is nice ; refreshing. It allows one to clearly focus on the emotion intended to be conveyed.
I like the contrast element, as well, very fitting.
And the last stanza/line of actually using your previously expressed statements, to further compound upon your meaning.
This piece can also represent the "overuse" of words to a point of them becoming meaningless--losing their feeling ; emotional integrity behind the word(s) being said.
Interesting read; well done.
Enjoyed it and the contemplation which goes hand in hand with such a poetic expression.
Much love,
LR

Wow...same word with different meaning...so thoughtful...how the thinking and expression of saying things changes the meaning of the same word
