                   You may have met a thousand like me 

                         But never before have I met 

                                Someone like you 

                          

                            You want to know why? 

                  'Cause there maybe thousands ready

                           To listen to your rambles 

                               But no one for me 

                                For that, I want

                               Someone like you 

                         Who would listen endlessly 

                                To my rambles?  

                          Unflinching, unwavering 

                    Always with a good advice or two 

                                      Except

                               Someone like you

 

                        With occasional flirtations 

                                From your side 

                     And silly flatterings from me 

                            I wish this friendship 

                            Remains the way it is. 

                           'Cause finally I realized 

                               I never will have 

                              Someone like you 

                             (Though you might)

I can tell it's from your heart. Best things can come out of ones heart. Alot of mine are from my heart in some ways or another, whole or partly. Much enjoyed reading this wonderful piece. Such true feelings exude from it. Would we all want someone like that.

Sounds like being in the friend zone. Or maybe just wanting to preserve a great friendship with someone you fell in love with and he doesn't reciprocate. Not usually my cup of tea, but it's good.

I think it's a very good examination of what makes a good friendship. (alcohol is optional) lol.

Good friendships are hard to come by - I pray you two work equally towards keeping it alive and real.
