SarahA Poem by shiloh jennings11:27pm Nov 21/95 ... to the first girl I ever loved.
Gently, I reach out to take your arm. Silently, I bring back my hand Before you notice my gesture.
Deep inside my soul burns an undying flame. To be with you is all I ask. To touch you, to hold you, to kiss and caress you; to show you just how hot my desires burn.
Yet, something stops me.
The flame lays trapped inside the glass casing of society and I am afraid. Afraid that the flame will suffocate itself before society alllows me to set it free.
In the depths of my heart lays the key to this case I want to lead you to it. Yet again, society steps in my path. And I remain scared, of both
society
and the thought of living without you. © 2008 shiloh jenningsAuthor's Note
