A Poem by shiloh jennings
"

winter 2000

"

ageless wonder

transfixed amongst the tiny white lights.

stars, they say.

entire galaxies, across the universe,

farther in distance than

anything humanly fathomable

and yet close enough

to be

tiny

twinkles

amongst the heavenly backdrop.

one, small, unidentifiable speck

chaotically scattered

amiss

countless other planets.

inhabitable?

who knows,

why does it matter.

turn the telescopes around

and look at your

neighbour

our home

a planet alone

and we spend more time looking

out

than looking

in.
