Move

Move

A Poem by shiloh jennings

"

perfectly still.

if I lay here, perfectly still...

maybe I can sift between the

sands of time

and somehow cheat this

roller-coaster

of fate

I am forever riding through life.

But nothing about me is

ever quite perfect

and less of me is

still.

What can the paths of eternity

possibly hold

that I have the

ability to run from,

no matter what clues I

gather

along the way.

Move, I say

live, be free, be you -- BE!

Or why bother living,

when you could be in

your coffin and

perfectly still.

How deep and evocative! You really capture the way I feel sometimes - the imperfections are well-stated. I like how you tie the end to the beginning, too; it's clever and it wraps the poem up very well (and it makes the title deliciously ironic, too). Great job!
