"

beneath the skin
the irritation grows
leaking substance
rows upon rows

it will not cross
the flesh beneath
for fear of causing
undue grief

but stain it does
the skins own surface
allowing no more
the images to erase

the man, the tool,
the ink, the blood
emotions over-flowing
tears a-flood

socially accepted
form of cutting?
or loves own blossom
slowly budding!

addicted to the
moment of pain?
or needing to express
myself once again!
