MatriarchA Poem by Aly SkyYou wear your lies like a protective shell, and inside’s your shame that can really raise hell; you tell me I'm wrong just to keep your good name, but you honestly know you're only fooling yourself; playing it all just like a damn game, and putting off the truth so you can stay well; really you know it’s all a book of fiction, but you just can’t kick this horrible addiction; all you wanted to do was make things better, but now your temporaries have turned you bitter; keeping up the habits and creating excuses to rescue yourself from the monster inside; you hate what you’ve become, or at least you will when everyone leaves and you end up alone. You still have no idea how terrible you are, but you’ll find out soon enough; equivalent exchange. © 2016 Aly SkyAuthor's Note
