poetic vow

write it when you feel it

i don't believe in love in first sight, but love at first laugh.

with these words i speak of our love,

so tender and fragile, as pure as a dove.

our story began as simple can be,

sitting in your car, under the stars and trees.

i felt so warm when i looked in your eyes,

when you made me laugh, smile or cry.

quickly i fell but i fell in your arms,

you weren't just another boy, you had that handsome man charm.

a year flew by,

with not a bat of an eye.

i can't wait to marry, start a life of our own,

another year, we're buying our dream home.

a home to start a life, a home to grow old,

this isn't even half of the story told.

in sickness, in health, rich or poor,

with you my love, i will never grow bored.

my best friend, my lover, my warmth, my all,

with you my love, i know i will never fall.

when i spoke of you, it was always "husband to be,"

right here in this moment, it's my husband and me.

this kiss one of the most memorable, although time will pass,

i will remember it forever, but it will not be our last.

now let this very ceremony,

welcome us to holy matrimony. 

forever and always, i give all my love to you,

thank you my love for making my grey skies blue.

thank you so much! everyone perceives love in their own way, and i was laying in bed last night with lines for this poem just running through my head. this is my first actual poem so thank you so so much it means so much to me!
