Summer Child

Summer Child

A Poem by Your Favorite Niche
"

a poem about my inner child

"
Oh sweet Summer child
chiiile, can't you see your charm?
everyone grabbing you by your hand
to love you the way they do
Oh Summer child
didn't they tell you life is hard?
death is easy, life is always worth what we cant fathom:
the unknown
Oh Summer child
love is hard, companionship is easy
and in between the lines of  love and lust is trauma
that haunt your dreams no longer
Oh Summer child
an open letter from me to you
and all I can tell you is it gets better, and better,
and better
each stepping stone harsher than the first
each lesson learned the hard way
Oh sweet Summer child
you've always learned fast
rising above what puts fear in your heart
the boundaries of the pursuit are endless
and you've shown me that,
summer child
