Gemstones

A Poem by Your Favorite Niche
"

The pressure, the weight, the feeling of being beautifully different in a world that hates you for doing so, yet takes and creates their own from you. This piece is for BIPOC.

"
You are beautiful
but I don't want you
It took far too long to perfect
pretending to love you
Instead, you will be a display
that other's adore and imitate
I'll be inspired by
your incredible tenacity

gemstones made where my flesh would burn
It is infuriating and as infatuation sets in
the color of your natural casing
your refined quality
forges my intimidation

various yet incomparable
valuable and useful
illuminating in the sunlight
showcasing your radiant existence
I mold you into the perfect shape
made in my image, contrived by my rules.

You're so ridged
why do you continue to fight
what is supposed to be
The shapes you come in, the colors you paint into my imagination
are infantile compared to my desire

continue to be useful for me
under pressure, weight of your crown
smothering your resolve
creating a purpose that is not your own

I'm not great at grammar, since grammar isn't important to me. The feeling is most important. How does this make you feel as a BIPOC?
