Downpour

A Poem by None

I feel you behind me, close,

Apologies that are so verbose,

Yet saying nothing, you conclude,

There’s nothing to salvage, nothing to lose.

The wind keeps crying, falling rain,

Crashes upon me while, in vain,

I try to catch you, try to save,

What we once had, what we once gave.

I stand still, let water cascade,

Those single drops perverse parade,

Mixing with my tears in sorrow,

Reminding me there’s still tomorrow.

I smile again as freedom takes me,

Spinning in the rain, so greatly

Does this feeling take hold, so fast,

I know that nothing ever lasts.

Its real sad, and the last line says it all; great impact. Beautifully written.

Great rhythm and rhyme here in your poem. I like the fresh way you write and the story told within. I feel the emotions you project here.
