Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by None

I dreamed of a girl
Hair matted and lank,
Lying on the pillow
As if made of lead.

She died with nothing
Eyes without emotion
Blank to the world.
No fighting, just death.

There is no escape
From the inevitable
She knew it was coming,
Too scared to be human.

As I stare down
At that china-doll girl
I see myself reflected
In her china-white skin.

As I look down
I can see everything,
So clear now. That girl
Laying there, without hope

Is me.

I love what you have here. It's so beautiful but, at the same time, so tragically sad. No matter how different we are in life, in death we're all the same. And even in life, those who are dead reflect us, at some points in our life: broken beyond repair. This is a fantastic poem, and I'm glad I took the time to read it. Great job!
