Mistake

Mistake

A Story by Child Of the Universe
"

i have learned that forgiving is sometimes needed.

"
The streets were empty.
Roads were clear.
Rain pelted down, hitting my skin.
My feet were getting soaked, trudging through puddles.
HIs voice was calling for me.
I kept walking, my hair dripping.
Rain drops were soaking through his words.
The piece of paper was slipping from my fingertips.
I crumpled the paper.
The sharp edges of the paper ball were poking me.
I was gaining speed getting closer to the dock.
The soul of my shoes scraped the wood of the dock.
I flung the paper ball into the ocean.
He had almost caught up to me.
My lungs were on fire.
I could feel the rock sitting on my fourth finger.
The diamond was the last option.
His strong grip was placed on my wrist.
He turned me around abruptly.
The kiss that was about to happen was inevitable.
When we pulled apart, I was furious.
The paper was sinking in the ocean.
His words dissolving into the waves.
He made a mistake, a forgivable one.
I already felt better, throwing the paper was a good feeling.
I forgive you.
