Said Indigo to evilA Poem by Young Left Hand
you are always out there
I watch you on the news I see you with more frequency then the even the most sinister choose you've got a strangle hold on virtue you seduce the desperate into monstrous situations Hate, Greed, and Torture are just some of your creations your up upon the rooftops, you’re down inside the kitchen your back two blocks and take a right you’re always on a mission It's casualties you crave in your timeless world of pain you collect the lost, every bit as cold, as the puddle gathers rain and what should I make of you, after all these years? should I shrug you off in apathy? are the innocent not worth my tears? we shock and awe, we duck and dive, we rock and roll, and all that jive and while were all playing with the toys you supply more of the meek and innocent die so why am I a believer? a question the cynical ask why are you a believer? let's see who is under the mask I'll tell you why I'm a believer since you are so eager to know: a lot is a lot and you plant what you got so I'll tell you what I choose to grow. I choose to grow love, I choose to grow faith I choose to grow babies, before it's too late I choose to plant hope, I choose to grow grace if you'll lean in real close I give you a taste I've seen the joy in a young man's eyes whose food was spoiled and swarming with flies I choose to believe out of spite for you for even dark forces have no right to what you do I believe that life starts with a beautiful breath and I pray with all my heart and soul one day you'll run out of death.
