Pain Is My Potential

A bit of a light / dark struggle

Surrounded by these walls again, trapped here in imprisonment,

I used to let my heart run free but darkness claims the innocent,

Condemned to solidarity, precious time, I’ve given it,

Flooded in a sea of pain, it’s kind of pleasant, isn’t it,

It reminds me of the life I have, it helps me to revive, 

Assist to bear the sadness, a companion of goodbyes, 

Appreciate the sentiment, the smiles, and the cries, 

It truly is a blessing, only time could make me realize,

Affliction is a breath of air, something so essential, 

If you feel abrasion then you also feel the gentle,

Inspire me to be unique, eradicate the stencil, 

Undergo a metamorphosis then reach for my potential,

Life itself can be a prison if you choose to look at it that way, and some people confine themselves to living in a fantasy world within their mind. An escape from pain, responsibility or ones own idiosyncrasy that allows one to heal, recover or even grow so like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. Very in depth thinking from an analytical mind.
