Calm Before the Storm

Calm Before the Storm

A Poem by Lola
"

I was never the calm, and I was never the storm.

"
After the calm,
Comes the storm.

I was never the calm.
I was never the storm.

I was the ocean spilling its secrets on the ocean shore.

I was the stars gasping for breath above Manhattan New York.

I was the breeze in a hot day.

I was the trees when they started to sway.

I was the lightning that followed thunder.

I was the rage in human force.

I was the love no one had to give.

I was the empty crack in a broken window.

I was always the hail,
The rain,
The force.

I was never the calm.
I was never the storm.
