RideA Poem by LolaYou let me ride without my control. Let me see your world, places i've never been, feelings i've never felt. But i'm thrown onto your collection of the old and used, you walk too proudly on.
I rode you like a horse,
And I never slowed you down. Never even tried to stop.
You were one of those old, mad horses. Sliding me off of your back. I landed onto my dignity. Galloping through the horizon. Searching for another thrill of a kill. The game of control and defeat, You continuously played. Leaving without a receipt. Without a trail of hoofs To follow. With a crazy leap, That throws even the heaviest of hearts away. Floating between the clouds of the realization of despair. Restless feelings that were too rare and stupid To share.
Never knew riding would get me this far. I encouraged your stride. Oh silly rider, Too excited with the whistles of the wind Whispering loudly between her ears, Deafening any sound of sense she once had. You've let me slip onto the sharp edges Of the crystal ground of your previous fallen. I couldn't walk for weeks. I screamed like the loud whispers Your ride created, in its meet with the air But you act like you never heard, Like you were never there. There was always a better rider than me. Another easier, funner, ride.
Adding to the cluster of naïve victims A continuum of broken limbs and empty hearts Too numb to feel. And too shallow to love. Winning prizes on the ground you've proudly made. A stallion of your own disgusting talent Feeding off The eyes Of the young
and the jaded. Never equestrians and never on your back Again.
