***********************

I am what you call a P.A./offset assistant. But I'm mostly an offset assistant. I give the actors what they need. If it's an apple juice on set or a ride home because they're so drunk they're seeing double. When I'm working on a movie or a TV show I am assigned to the actors. I usually don't work on one thing at a time but if you pay enough I'll stay longer.

I wake up to my boyfriend of 11 months nudging me. "Xandi, it's for you." Caleb said holding the phone out to me.

My name is Xandi Pierce; age 22, started out in the P.A. business when I was 17. I graduated high school then moved to L.A. and started right away P.A.ing. Everyone in the business knows me as Pierce.

I sit up and grab the phone. "Pierce." I look at the alarm clock, 3:00 am.

"Hey, it's Nick." Nick Gamble, he is the director of 'Breakthrough', a new hit-TV show.

"Yes?"

"I know it's early but Shane Olsen hasn't shown up on set and I know you're not suppose to be here, today. Still, I was hoping if you could go and bring him here?"

"Yes, sure I'll have him there as soon as possible."

"Thanks." The line went dead. I turn to Caleb, "Sorry babe, but that was work. I should be back in an hour." He was already back to sleep.  I give him a kiss on the cheek and get up to put on my clothes. I go out and haul a cab; there is no reason to drive when the hotel he is staying at is 12 blocks away.

I get into the cab, “The Truants’, please.” The Truants is a hotel that all the stars or the very rich people stay at when they are in town. I come here all the time to pick up people.  I call the hotel to let them know I was going there to get someone. The cabbie stops a few blocks down because there are paparazzi everywhere. I pay, “Thanks, sir.” I start walking the sidewalk gets more crowded and crowded as I go. The only thing that sucks about my job is the paparazzi. They know what I do and they think if they follow me around they can find a star.

I reach the front doors, the paparazzi yelling, “Peirce, Peirce who are you picking up?” and other stuff like that.

“Hello, Norman.” I say to the doorman.

“Good morning, Miss Peirce.” He opens the door for me.

“Thank you.” I walk in and go to the front desk. “Hello, Cindy.”

“Oh, hey, Peirce. Here is his key card.” She hands me the key card.

“Thanks, Cindy. I’ll bring it back to the front desk when we leave.”

“You guys can go through the kitchen and out the side door. The paparazzi are at the front and back.”

“Thanks, again, Cindy.” I walk to the elevators, press the button.

I finally got to his room. I don’t even bother to knock. I walk back into the bedroom and turn on the light to see him asleep, alone. I shake him, “Shane get up. You have to get to the set.” He just groans, rolls on his stomach and puts his head underneath a pillow. I stand at the end of his bed and pull the blanket of him. “What the hell, woman?!” he yells at me. He’s naked. It’s not my first run in with a naked star. But most of the time they try and cover themselves up, unlike him.

But right now all I can see is his a*s. It’s not like I’m trying to see more. I do have a boyfriend and he has plenty for me to look at. **Wink, wink. **

“Come on, you need to get dressed.”

“I have to get in the shower.” He mutters.

“Then get in.”

“Aren’t you going to leave?” he looks at me over his shoulder.

“No, because once I walk out of this room you’re going to go back to sleep.”

“Fine then turn around.”

“Just get up. It’s not like I haven’t see it before.”

“Wait, what? We’ve slept together?”

“No, but I’m not a virgin. Now, go before I drag you out of bed.”
