Anything () is extra information. ____________________________________________________________ Episode 51: The day is January 14th, 2005. By now, it’s a Friday night. After hugging each other for a while as they reunite, Ambrož strikes up a conversation with Přemysl, wanting to know more about what he was up to for the past few months. Ambrož speaks in a curious tone, wondering if there’s more to Přemysl’s decision to reach out to him. Ambrož Line 1) Just out of curiosity, is there anything else that pushed you to reach out to me? Přemysl glances at Ambrož in surprise from catching on so quickly. Ambrož speaks reassuringly, misinterpreting the surprised expression on Přemysl’s face as feeling offended. Ambrož Line 2) I know that question may sound rude, but I’m assuming something happened to you that made you want to reach back out to me. Or did you just feel like doing it on your own? Přemysl speaks reassuringly, hints of pleasant surprise adamant in his voice. Přemysl Line 3) You’ve always been so quick to catch on*. You’re right. Someone made me realize I was wrong. *Remember that Přemysl said this to Ambrož back when they had first met (refer back to episode 3, line 28 and line 78). Přemysl questions Ambrož curiously. Přemysl Line 4) It’s a very long story. Are you sure you want to hear it? Ambrož nods his head eagerly. Přemysl explains everything to Ambrož (how he revealed his true identity to Theo). Ambrož zones out, trying to process Přemysl’s actions in disbelief. Přemysl questions Ambrož in a manner that seeks assurance. Přemysl Line 5) I think I told you just about everything. What do you think? Ambrož glances at Přemysl in pleasant surprise, not expecting him to reveal his true identity to Theo. Ambrož Line 6) It just seems so out of character. The last thing I thought you’d do is reveal yourself to Theo. Ambrož’s eyes widen from a realization. Ambrož Line 7) It just dawned on me that you revealed yourself sooner than me. I haven’t even told Oumou about my true identity. Přemysl glances at Ambrož in surprise. Přemysl Line 8) Oh. I thought she'd be aware by now. Ambrož fiddles with his hands in an antsy manner, speaking apprehensively. Ambrož Line 9) We haven’t really brought up the subject since I confessed to all of my lies, and we decided to give our relationship another go*. *Refer back to all of episode 22, episode 23, lines 1�"33, and all of episode 25, etc. Ambrož Line 10) I wanted to explain further, but she told me she didn’t want it to seem like I owed her an explanation*, saying that I can tell her when I’m sincerely ready. *Refer back to episode 22, lines 20�"26, and episode 23, line 8, etc. Přemysl glances at Ambrož in a serious way, speaking inquisitively. Přemysl Line 11) Do you think you’re ready? Ambrož glances at Přemysl anxiously. He speaks in an uncertain tone. Ambrož Line 12) I’m not sure. I don’t think I’ll ever be “sincerely ready". I’ll always feel the need to owe her an explanation because she doesn’t know a huge part of my identity. Ambrož speaks in a manner of concern. Ambrož Line 13) Being with her but not having her know who I really am makes it seem like what we have right now isn’t complete. Ambrož speaks in a tone of distress. Ambrož Line 14) I’ve struggled trying to come to terms with the uncertainty that lies ahead of our relationship if I reveal myself to her and she doesn’t accept me*... *Refer back to episode 48, lines 79�"101, etc. Ambrož Line 15) But I’m conflicted because I feel like I know her well enough, and I assume she will accept me*. *Refer back to episode 48, lines 92�"97, etc. Ambrož speaks in a self-aware manner. Ambrož Line 16) All of this pondering won’t give me a definitive answer until I take matters into my own hands and tell her the entire truth. Ambrož Line 17) It seems easy enough, but for some reason, I’m not sure if I have the courage to do it. Ambrož speaks in a tone of disappointment. Ambrož Line 18) I’m being a coward. I’m too afraid, but she deserves to know so much. Přemysl places his hand on Ambrož’s shoulder consolingly. Přemysl Line 19) It wasn’t easy for me. Heck, I don’t even know what Theo could be thinking right now… Přemysl speaks in a manner of acceptance. Přemysl Line 20) But I took a leap of faith, and now, whatever happens, happens. Přemysl speaks in an honest tone. Přemysl Line 21) I’m scared to lose him, too, but if things don’t work out, at least I know I did everything I could. Přemysl speaks in a manner of solace. Přemysl Line 22) It’ll be heartbreaking, but I know it’s something that’ll heal with time, and as a vampire, I have all the time in the world now, don’t I? Přemysl explains himself in a tone of dissatisfaction. Přemysl Line 23) The longer we put things off, the more the repercussions will accumulate. In delaying revealing myself to Theo, I was putting myself at risk of him already disapproving of my confession and just dragging his verdict out. Přemysl speaks empathetically. Přemysl Line 24) I’m not trying to imply that the time you have with someone in a relationship is a waste after you reveal something they don’t approve of and everything just ends, but it could be considered a waste of time to them. Přemysl speaks in a tone of reassurance, gazing into Ambrož’s eyes supportively. Přemysl Line 25) Don’t think I’m trying to pressure you into telling Oumou just because the sooner, the better, but it’s something to consider. Do what you think feels right at the end of the day, though. Přemysl Line 26) What felt right to me was ripping the bandaid off and getting things over with*. *Refer back to episode 47, lines 103�"110, etc. Přemysl speaks in a wise manner. Přemysl Line 27) But what works for me may not work for you, so do what you think is best; just know that I suggest you do the same thing as me if that isn’t already obvious. A thought comes to Přemysl, prompting him to clarify himself. Přemysl Line 28) Oh, I forgot to mention that I think Theo wanted to know. He would just bite his tongue so that I wouldn’t feel pressured*. *Refer back to episode 44, line 51. Přemysl Line 29) He kept saying that I could take all the time I wanted, but for some reason, I don’t think he meant that. He was just being considerate. Přemysl speaks in a suggestive tone. Přemysl Line 30) So, perhaps you should ask Oumou what she thinks since you’re feeling so indecisive. Přemysl Line 31) You mentioned that the last time you guys brought the subject up was when you confessed to the majority of the truth, so maybe she’s ready to hear things from you now? Přemysl speaks in an analytical manner. Přemysl Line 32) Sure, if she really wanted to know, she would have asked, and she could be biting her tongue just for your sake. Do you think you caught on to any of those hints? Ambrož glances at Přemysl in thought, realizing his point. Ambrož Line 33) Yeah. She tends to tiptoe around certain topics because she assumes they’re related to what I’m withholding from her*. *Refer back to episode 48, line 24. Přemysl speaks suggestively. Přemysl Line 34) I think it’s time you guys have a conversation about that. Bring it up so that you can get a fresh consensus of her take. Přemysl Line 35) You’ll know what to do then. Ambrož smiles at Přemysl appreciatively. Ambrož Line 36) Thank you. I didn’t know I needed to talk to someone about this so much. Přemysl smiles at Ambrož gratefully. Přemysl Line 37) It’s the least I could do. Now, I’m curious about what you’ve been up to these past few months. Would you like to inform me? Ambrož Line 38) You need to give me an update, too. You only explained Theo stuff. What about the rest? The both of them delve into a lengthy and deep conversation to catch each other up on what they’ve been up to during the past few months they were away. The night gets even darker, becoming late, with the both of them still at the park Theo was at with Přemysl in Ambrož’s parked car. Přemysl releases a sigh of relief. Přemysl Line 39) That was a much-needed conversation. Ambrož speaks in a mutual manner, smiling at Přemysl happily. Ambrož Line 40) Tell me about it. I didn’t know there were so many things weighing on my chest. Ambrož speaks appreciatively. Ambrož Line 41) You’re the only person I can talk to about these kinds of things. I’m really glad you reached back out to me. Přemysl holds onto Ambrož’s hand sentimentally, speaking in a tone of gratitude. Přemysl Line 42) I’m even glader, though that’s not a word. It’s how I truly feel. Přemysl speaks ashamedly, drooping his head down in dejection. Přemysl Line 43) I know you might not trust me based on how I ended things with you a couple of months ago, but I can assure you that I’m not going anywhere. Přemysl speaks in a sincere manner. Přemysl Line 44) I’m always here for you. That’s not an empty promise, and I’ll prove it. Ambrož offers Přemysl a genuine smile, speaking to him consolingly. Ambrož Line 45) Things were rough between us, but you never lost my trust, Přem, and you never will. Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 46) That was just a hurdle, and we got over it. Things are okay. Ambrož Line 47) It’ll take time for you to feel normal again and not excessively guilty, but that’s normal. Ambrož Line 48) Before you know it, we’ll be back to the way things were with each other, just like good old times. Přemysl smiles at Ambrož happily, speaking insistently. Přemysl Line 49) It’s about time you get back. I’m sure Oumou must be mad at me for keeping you for so long. Ambrož speaks in a tone of solace. Ambrož Line 50) She’s the most understanding soul in the world. She could never be mad at you. Ambrož speaks in a tone of excitement. Ambrož Line 51) I can’t wait to introduce you guys to each other! She’s going to be ecstatic! Přemysl replies in a mutual manner. Přemysl Line 52) I can’t wait to meet her as well. I hope I make a good impression. Přemysl speaks ashamedly. Přemysl Line 53) But I’m prepared to have her mad at me for the way I treated you. If I were her, I’d hate me for kicking you out. Ambrož responds reassuringly. Ambrož Line 54) As I mentioned, she could never be mad at you. You guys will get along well. I’m sure of it! Přemysl asks for a favor timidly. Přemysl Line 55) Looking forward to it! If you don’t mind, could you drive me back to the house? Ambrož questions Přemysl inquisitively. Ambrož Line 56) Don’t you want to come over? Přemysl answers in a tone of reluctance. Přemysl Line 57) You should be with Oumou. Ambrož responds informatively. Ambrož Line 58) I’m sure she’s asleep by now. However, she said she’d message me if she would head to bed*. *Refer back to episode 50, line 25. Ambrož checks his text message notifications, noticing that Oumou hasn’t texted him yet. Ambrož speaks in a tone of worry. Ambrož Line 59) I guess she’s still awake. I hope she’s not keeping herself up just for my sake. I told her not to*. *Refer back to episode 50, line 24. Přemysl speaks reassuringly. Přemysl Line 60) I haven’t met her yet, but I think I have a good grasp of her character, so I’m assuming she’s waiting for you. That’s just how relationships are. Ambrož smiles giddily, feeling flustered by Přemysl's inference. Ambrož responds tenderly. Ambrož Line 61) You do have a good grasp of her character. That sounds exactly like something she’d do~ Přemysl speaks encouragingly. Přemysl Line 62) Which is precisely why you should get back to her. I can come over any other time, and you can come over to the house as well whenever you'd like to. Ambrož answers agreeably. Ambrož Line 63) Good point. Sounds like a plan! Let’s get you home. Ambrož drives Přemysl to his house, bidding him goodbye before he leaves. Ambrož speaks in a manner of concern. Ambrož Line 64) Are you sure you won’t be lonely without me? Přemysl responds bluntly. Přemysl Line 65) Of course, I will. But I’ve been lonely without you for the past 3 months. I’ll get over it. He further elaborates in a tone of comfort. Přemysl Line 66) But today’s different. I’m going to head to bed fulfillingly, knowing that I reached out to my brother, making progress in patching things up between us. So, don’t you worry. Ambrož speaks determinedly. Ambrož Line 67) I’m swinging by tomorrow. Make sure to answer my texts and calls this time around. Přemysl squints at Ambrož playfully from the sarcastic joke. He answers in a mutual manner. Přemysl Line 68) Sounds good. I’ll see you then. Ambrož hesitates before offering Přemysl some more reassurance, intending to further console him. Ambrož Line 69) I know you’re feeling antsy about Theo’s response to your confession, but I have an inkling that he’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Ambrož speaks in a tone of certainty. Ambrož Line 70) It shouldn't count that you're a vampire. He’s your genuine friend. Someone like that will accept the other no matter what. Přemysl smiles at Ambrož appreciatively. He responds in a hopeful manner. Přemysl Line 71) I hope so. Thank you for everything! Have a good night ♡ Ambrož speaks in a loving tone. Ambrož Line 72) Have a good night, too, Přemysl. Know that I love you with all my heart. Přemysl glances at Ambrož touchingly, answering in a fond manner. Přemysl Line 73) I love you more, big bro. Get some well-needed rest! Ambrož smiles amusingly at Přemysl for calling him “big bro” (refer back to episode 7, lines 86 and 87, etc). The both of them happily wave each other off, with Ambrož watching Přemysl head inside the house, with the lights turning on, being his cue to part ways. Ambrož arrives at the apartment, making his way over to Oumou’s front door. He pauses, thinking she might be asleep and may have forgotten to text him. Line 74) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I should text her first before I knock. That’d be unpleasant to hear if she’s asleep. Ambrož texts Oumou, waiting a couple of seconds to hear back from her. Line 75) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: If she doesn’t respond in 5 minutes, I’m just doing to assume she’s aslee�" Oumou abruptly opens her door for Ambrož, welcoming him into her apartment. His body jolts from the unexpected action. Oumou glances at Ambrož in playful concern, leaning in to hug him while she caresses his face affectionately. Oumou Line 76) I’m sorry~? Did I scare you~? Ambrož speaks in a tender manner, questioning Oumou curiously. Ambrož Line 77) Slightly, you~ What are you doing up so late? I told you not to wait for me. Oumou answers enthusiastically. Oumou Line 78) I waited for you anyway. Plus, I’m not tired. Tomorrow is the start of the weekend. Sleep can wait*. *Refer back to episode 27, line 53. Ambrož responds amusingly. Ambrož Line 79) You’ve definitely said that before. I guess some things don’t change*. *Ambrož made this remark to conclude Oumou's stance regarding him revealing his identity to her. Since her quirk of staying up on the weekends hasn’t changed, he’s wondering if her input on his secret hasn’t changed either. Oumou welcomes Ambrož into her place, hooking her arm with his as they enter her apartment. She speaks in a tone of curiosity. Oumou Line 80) So, how did things go with your brother…? Ambrož explains everything to Oumou (besides how he and Přemysl talked about bringing up the topic of revealing his identity to her*). *Refer back to lines 7�"36 of this episode. They are sitting beside each other on Oumou’s couch. Oumou speaks warmly, smiling at Ambrož in thrill. Oumou Line 81) I’m glad things are looking up for the two of you. He’s your family, after all, so he’s important to me. Ambrož speaks suggestively. Ambrož Line 82) Do you want to meet him tomorrow? It’s about time. Wouldn’t you say so? Oumou answers joyfully, with her cheerfulness adding a sparkle to her eyes. Oumou Line 83) That would be great! I hope he doesn’t mind. Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 84) Not at all. He’s looking forward to seeing you. Oumou responds excitedly. Oumou Line 85) Sounds like a plan. I hope I make a good first impression*. *Refer back to line 52 of this episode. Ambrož speaks in a heartening manner. Ambrož Line 86) He said the same thing. Don’t be nervous. You’ll do great! Oumou leans on Ambrož’s shoulder lovingly. Ambrož Line 87) You seem tired. Let’s call it a night. Oumou speaks agreeably. Oumou Line 88) Okay. Swing by to let me know more about visiting your brother. Ambrož caresses Oumou’s face, glancing at her wistfully. Ambrož Line 89) This isn’t the right time or place to be asking this, but I need to know… Oumou glances at Ambrož intently. Ambrož speaks sentimentally. Ambrož Line 90) Are you ready to know… everything? Oumou glances at Ambrož in surprise, not expecting a response like this out of him. She speaks in a tone of worry. Oumou Line 91) I think the better question you should be asking yourself is whether or not you’re ready to tell me. Ambrož answers apprehensively. Ambrož Line 92) I’m… u-unsure. Oumou places her hands on Ambrož’s shoulders tenderly, gazing into his eyes reassuringly. Oumou Line 93) That’s okay. I’m willing to wait until you’re sure. There’s absolutely no rush whatsoever. Ambrož speaks in a manner of sorrow, glancing at Oumou upsettingly. Ambrož Line 94) The thing is, I don’t think I’ll ever be sure*. *Refer back to line 12 of this episode. Ambrož suggests an idea to Oumou cluelessly. Ambrož Line 95) Perhaps I should just tell you to hear your verdict sooner? Ambrož speaks in a fearful way. Ambrož Line 96) I’m nervous about it, but I think it’s best that I get your input swiftly rather than putting it off and being nervous about what will happen when the truth is out. Oumou reassures Ambrož understandingly. She gently caresses his face consolingly. Oumou Line 97) I get where you’re coming from, and I’m sorry that you’re in such a tough situation… An idea comes across her mind. She speaks suggestively. Oumou Line 98) If you don’t know when you’ll be ready, do you mind waiting for me until I’m ready? Ambrož glances at Oumou in surprise, not intending for Přemysl's assumption about Oumou to be so spot on (refer back to lines 30-35 of this episode). Ambrož answers reassuringly. Ambrož Line 99) O-Of course. It’s the least I could do. Oumou speaks in an explanatory manner. Oumou Line 100) There’s something I need to tell you as well, but I need to muster up the courage to do so. When I feel prepared, that’s when you can tell me. Sound like a plan? Ambrož nods his head eagerly. Oumou gazes at him appreciatively, caressing his face tenderly. She leans in to give him a peck on the cheek, smiling at him fondly. End of episode.
