Anything () is extra information. ____________________________________________________________ Episode 48: The day is January 14th, 2005. By now, it’s a Friday evening. As Přemysl and Theo admit to their secrets, Ambrož and Oumou have a campfire evening together at a gathering area in their apartment complex. They hold sticks of marshmallows* at a fire together and sit beside each other as the sun starts to set and the sky becomes dark. *These marshmallows do not contain any gelatin because Oumou does not eat pork. Ambrož smirks at Oumou in joy as they grill their marshmallows. Oumou raises her shoulders cheerfully, smiling at Oumou with a tender gaze. Ambrož questions Oumou curiously, feeling concerned. Ambrož Line 1) Is it too cold for you outside? Oumou speaks in a relaxed manner. Oumou Line 2) Slightly, but I’m doing okay. Ambrož speaks suggestively, opening his arms for Oumou to embrace him. Ambrož Line 3) Come closer to me. Oumou nudges Ambrož’s chest playfully, smirking at him smugly. Oumou Line 4) But you’re cold yourself, mister. I don’t think you would be much of a help. Ambrož glances at Oumou in a playfully offended manner. Ambrož Line 5) As right as you are, it still stings hearing that I’m not helpful. Oumou slides a remark in to lift Ambrož’s spirits. Oumou Line 6) Would it make you feel better if I leaned in? Ambrož nods his head sadly, pouting his lips out at Oumou. Oumou leans into Ambrož, putting his arm over her shoulder, to snuggle into his chest. Oumou speaks in a tone of surprise. Oumou Line 7) Honestly, you’re not as cold as I thought you’d be. Oumou speaks pleasantly. Oumou Line 8) You’re kind of warming me up~ Ambrož speaks in a doubtful manner, jokingly squinting at Oumou in suspicion. Ambrož Line 9) Nice try. You already said what you said earlier. There’s no taking anything back. Oumou places her hand on Ambrož’s forehead, trying to get a good feel of his temperature. She speaks sincerely. Oumou Line 10) I’m being serious. You’re the warmest I’ve ever felt you be. Ambrož’s eyebrows furrow as he analyzes Oumou’s discovery. Various questions spur in his mind. Line 11) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Maybe my body temperature changes due to the environment? Line 12) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I am quite close to the fire. Maybe that’s what’s causing me to heat up. Line 13) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Fire is one of a vampire’s weaknesses*. Perhaps I’m sensitive to the heat, which is why the warmth is affecting my temperature, though I cannot recount a time this has happened in the past. *Refer back to episode 6, line 70. Line 14) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I can’t physically feel if I’m warm or hot, but from past experiences, I know that heat has quite the aggressive stinging sensation. Line 15) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: It’s especially difficult to fathom that I’m being so nonchalant over something that could easily kill me. Line 16) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: If I even slightly get caught in the fire, my whole body will be set ablaze, and that would be the end. Us vampires are very sensitive to this element. Oumou caresses Ambrož’s face, wondering why he suddenly became so concerned. He glances at her in relief. She speaks in a tone of worry. Oumou Line 17) Everything okay, babe~? Ambrož smirks at Oumou happily from the way she addressed him. He responds flirtatiously. Ambrož Line 18) I’m most definitely okay now because you just called me babe~ Oumou rolls her eyes in a playfully annoyed manner. Oumou Line 19) We decided to call each other cute things like that, though*. *Refer back to episode 46, lines 105 and 111. Ambrož speaks agreeably. Ambrož Line 20) Of course, babe~ Oumou blushes at him, switching the topic, curious about what Ambrož was thinking about that made him look so worried. Oumou Line 21) Seriously, though. You looked so tense just now. Are you sure everything is okay? Ambrož glances at Oumou in shock, speaking in a tone of surprise. Ambrož Line 22) Wow! You can read me so well! Oumou explains her reasoning, speaking alluringly. Oumou Line 23) You’re the one that’s just so expressive. Anyone can read your facial expressions. Ambrož smiles at Oumou happily. Oumou contemplates Ambrož’s reaction, noticing that he’s trying to worm himself out of her curiosity. Line 24) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: This most likely has to do with what he’s hiding from me*. It’s best I don’t pry. That’s none of my concern. *Refer back to episode 10, line 69, and episode 22, lines 20�"26, etc. Oumou diverts the conversation onto another subject for them to continue chatting with each other enjoyably. Oumou speaks in a manner of surprise. Oumou Line 25) I’m surprised that more people aren’t out here. It’s quite empty in this area of the complex. More people should use the campfire. Ambrož speaks in a tone of appreciation, noticing how considerate Oumou was to switch the topic of their conversation onto something else since he was reluctant to give her an explanation to feed her curiosity. He holds her close to himself, placing a peck on her cheek. Ambrož Line 26) All the better. We’re allowed to be alone~ Oumou speaks in a manner of relief. Oumou Line 27) That’s true. I’m glad that I’m not fully alone, though. I have you by my side. Ambrož glances at Oumou touchingly. Oumou Line 28) Believe it or not, I’m scared of the dark. Oumou speaks in a brave tone. Oumou Line 29) You wouldn’t catch me outside in the dark like this if it weren’t for you. So, thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone. Ambrož speaks in a manner of concern. Ambrož Line 30) If I had known that you were afraid of the dark, I would’ve suggested we stay inside. Ambrož questions Oumou upsettingly, feeling as if he lured her in. Ambrož Line 31) Why did you agree to do this? You don’t have to force yourself all for my sake. Oumou reassures Ambrož, speaking in a gentle tone. Oumou Line 32) You make it sound so dramatic. It’s not like you dragged me out here. I decided to challenge myself by venturing outside my comfort zone. Oumou faces Ambrož, gazing at him with her beaming eyes of gratitude. Oumou Line 33) I’m thanking you for letting me have such an open mind~ Oumou Line 34) I’m not afraid anymore because of you. Oumou speaks enthusiastically. Oumou Line 35) Grilling marshmallows out here with you is thrilling! I’ve never done such a thing, and it’s been such a blast thus far! Oumou speaks in a tone of consolation. Oumou Line 36) So don’t you worry~ Oumou leans in to kiss Ambrož’s cheek. Ambrož’s eyebrows melt in affection, smiling giddily. His eyes meet his marshmallow, watching it completely get caught on fire as he grills it. He quickly removes it from the fire, blowing the fire off. He glances at his burnt marshmallow in embarrassment, swerving his gaze onto Oumou’s reaction. She bursts into laughter, speaking in an apologetic manner. Oumou Line 37) Aww~ I’m sorry to have distracted you~ Ambrož smirks at Oumou, feeling amused by her laughter. He speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 38) Don’t worry. I think I know a way I can save this. Ambrož grabs the plate of graham crackers and chocolate he put to the side, scraping the burnt part of the marshmallow off to open the gooey melted insides of it. He puts the gooey part onto his graham crackers and chocolate, closing the graham crackers into a sandwich. He presents his end product to Oumou happily. Ambrož Line 39) Tada~ S’mores! Oumou glances at the s’mores in delight. Oumou Line 40) They turned out so cute~ Look at you for not wasting~ That’s like your thing*, huh? *Remember the time Ambrož opened up to Oumou about how he made makeshift cake pops from a carrot cake to remove the raisins added into it (refer back to episode 18, lines 40�"55, etc). Ambrož Line 41) I guess so. I made it for you, so dig in~ Oumou glances at Ambrož appreciatively. Oumou Line 42) You sure? I can make my own, you know. Ambrož responds in a cocky manner. Ambrož Line 43) No offense, but this one is better. Oumou glances at Ambrož smugly. She grabs his s’more, digging into it enjoyably. Ambrož glances at Oumou eagerly, anticipating her verdict. Ambrož Line 44) How is it? Oumou’s eyes sparkle from the deliciousness of the s’more. She speaks encouragingly. Oumou Line 45) It’s really good! Have a bite! Ambrož speaks in a tone of pleasant surprise. Ambrož Line 46) It’s all yours, babe. But I can’t believe I impressed you since you’re such a picky eater*. *Refer back to episode 18, lines 58 and 59, etc. Oumou speaks offendedly. Oumou Line 47) Hey! You said I wasn’t picky*. What made you change your mind? *Refer back to episode 18, line 75, etc. Ambrož glances at Oumou nervously from the slip of his tongue. Oumou squints at Ambrož, putting him on the spot. Oumou Line 48) Busted! I knew you just said what I wanted to hear to get on my good side. Oumou folds her arms, swerving her body away from Ambrož playfully. She lets out a “hmph” sound, feeling offended. Ambrož releases a soft chuckle of amusement. He explains himself playfully, taking accountability for his mistake. Ambrož Line 49) Can’t a guy make a mistake? That was just a slip of the tongue. Oumou speaks in a doubtful tone, quoting Ambrož’s statement from earlier. Oumou Line 50) “Nice try. You already said what you said earlier. There’s no taking anything back*.” *Refer back to line 9 of this episode. Ambrož glances at Oumou in pleasant surprise from her remembrance. He wraps his arms behind her, placing his head on her shoulder affectionately. He speaks in a tender manner. Ambrož Line 51) My ‘Mou ‘Mou is so attentive~ Thank you for genuinely listening to me~ Ambrož kisses the back of Oumou’s neck, causing her body to shiver flusteredly. She stubbornly continues her jokingly offended demeanor. Oumou Line 52) “‘Mou ‘Mou”? I’m not a cow, you know. Ambrož speaks cheerfully, reminiscing fondly at his memories. Ambrož Line 53) But cows are cute! I would play with them a bunch when I was a kid! Oumou glances at Ambrož jokingly and grudgingly. Ambrož speaks in a slight manner of concern, his eyebrows melting into a worrisome expression. Ambrož Line 54) Are you seriously upset with me? Or do you just want me to pamper you? Oumou blushes at Ambrož, speaking flirtatiously. Oumou Line 55) … What do you think? Ambrož speaks in a slick tone, noticing some leftover residue from the s’more on Oumou’s lips. Ambrož Line 56) You have a bit of marshmallow goo on your lip. Oumou turns to face Ambrož, the both of their faces being extremely close to each other. She speaks in a flustered manner. Oumou Line 57) Get it for me, would you? Ambrož brushes his finger on Oumou’s lips to get the goo off, licking the residue off of his fingers. Her face flushes red from the unexpected gesture. Oumou Line 58) W-We have napkins! Why would you lick it off of your finger? Ambrož caresses Oumou’s face, gazing into her eyes lovingly. Her eyes melt from his yearnful glance. He leans into her, placing his lips onto hers. The both of them close their eyes in satisfaction, enveloping their mouths into one another. They consummate intimately, moving their heads from side to side to further engulf each other in their lips. Oumou places her marshmallow stick down, moving her hands onto Ambrož’s shoulders, touching them appreciatively from his broad frame. They pull back from each other, huffing as they catch their breaths. Ambrož smiles at Oumou sweetly, nudging his nose onto hers softly. She rolls her eyes at him playfully, speaking curiously. Oumou Line 59) Kissing me after I’ve just eaten. Why would you do something like that? Ambrož speaks alluringly.
Ambrož Line 60) I couldn’t resist~ Oumou leans her head on Ambrož’s shoulder. She speaks encouragingly. Oumou Line 61) You should have a taste of the s’more. Why are we even making them if you’re not going to eat them? Ambrož speaks flirtatiously. Ambrož Line 62) I already got a taste from you~ Oumou’s face flushes red. She brings back the s’more plate in front of herself quickly, gently shoving it into his mouth. Ambrož eats the s’more, nodding his head in delight. He speaks teasingly. Ambrož Line 63) If you’re going to feed me, then I don’t mind~ Ambrož puts his arm around Oumou’s shoulder. She leans into his chest, snuggling into it comfortingly. She speaks in a bashful manner. Oumou Line 64) You’re so flirty today, mister~ Ambrož speaks in a tone of determination. Ambrož Line 65) I must be when I’m around you. Ambrož Line 66) I hope that I can always make the butterflies in your stomach flutter. Ambrož elaborates yearnfully. Ambrož Line 67) Because I want this to always be the way we are to each other, no matter what. Oumou further snuggles into Ambrož’s side, engulfing herself in the scent of him. She releases a sigh of solace, speaking in a trustful manner. Oumou Line 68) I can always promise to try, but I can’t promise that you won’t get sick of me one day, so that’s up to you. Ambrož holds onto Oumou’s hand affectionately. He speaks faithfully, gazing into Oumou’s eye sternly. Ambrož Line 69) I won’t ever get sick of you, Oumou. Don’t say that. Oumou glances at Ambrož uncertainly. Oumou Line 70) Only time will truly tell. Ambrož questions Oumou upsettingly. Ambrož Line 71) Don’t you trust me? Oumou explains herself, acknowledging her iffy feelings. Oumou Line 72) I do, but just because I trust you doesn’t mean I won’t have doubts about our relationship. Oumou Line 73) Don’t you remember how I mentioned that my hometown “friends” cut ties with me*? *Refer back to episode 13, lines 13�"47, etc. Oumou speaks dejectedly. Oumou Line 74) I’m not trying to compare you to them, but I’m just trying to point out that I can’t know for certain about the trajectory of our relationship. Oumou Line 75) Don’t you hear about how couples who have been together for decades split up from something like cheating? Oumou speaks in a fearful manner. Oumou Line 76) I might be scared of the dark*, but I’m even more scared to lose you, Ambrož. *Refer back to line 28 of this episode. Oumou tries to reassure Ambrož frantically, feeling like she said the wrong thing. Oumou Line 77) Don’t think that I want you to promise me forever, but I… Oumou abruptly ends her babble, feeling guilty about her reasoning. Oumou Line 78) … I don’t know where I was going with that. Just forget it. Ambrož hugs onto Oumou tightly. He leans his head on hers sadly, thinking about the things she mentioned. Their eyes are fixed on the crackling campfire in front of them. Ambrož’s narration: Line 79) I’m scared to lose you too, Oumou… Line 80) I can’t know for certain about the trajectory of our relationship either. Line 81) Will you still glance at me with your soft eyes when I reveal the truth to you? Line 82) I’m afraid that gentle gaze of yours will turn into a rough one, piercing me with resentment and culpability. Line 83) But even if you end up hating me, I’ll be appreciative, knowing that I was able to make such amazing memories with you. Line 84) Going through that, though I’m risking you utterly despising me, is worth it if it means that I can hold you in my arms so lovingly like the way I am in this very moment. Ambrož’s eyes get watery from his sad thoughts. Line 85) I’ll spend an eternity reminiscing at such warm recollections. Line 86) But what do I do if you accept me, which I think you will? Line 87) I don’t have the cure. How will I be with you knowing that you’re growing old while I still look the same as I have for decades? Line 88) I wouldn’t want to jeopardize your desire to live a true life. Line 89) You’d eventually want to settle down with kids, but I won’t be able to supplement you with them. Line 90) When you mentioned how there might be other people better suited for each other*, maybe you’re right, and I've just been in denial because I know there is someone out there willing to give you everything I can't. *Refer back to episode 39, lines 76�"83. Ambrož’s eyebrows furrow in anguish. Line 91) You deserve to be with someone who can give you a future rather than someone who will keep you stagnant in life. They then loosen into a fulfilling expression, a warm smile curling onto his lips. Line 92) Yet, I want to enjoy myself now, no matter what outcome lies for us in the future. Line 93) Can’t I cherish you now? I’ve never been able to hold someone ever so intimately. Line 94) Your affection ignites such a gush within me of utopia. Line 95) It shifts my mindset into optimism, which is why, even though I have doubts about our relationship, I’m manifesting things to unfold for us ideally. Line 96) I’m going to get my hands on that damn cure, and I’m going to be that man for you that’ll give you the future of your dreams. Line 97) Someday, you’ll know all about this. Every last one of the thoughts I bit my tongue on revealing to you will be transmitted into that lovely brain of yours. I’ll make sure of it. Ambrož holds onto Oumou’s hand tenderly. She glances at him yearnfully. He speaks in a soft tone. Ambrož Line 98) Nothing is set in stone. Ambrož Line 99) What lies in the future is unknown. Ambrož Line 100) There’s nothing but uncertainty… Ambrož gazes into Oumou’s eyes sincerely. Ambrož Line 101) But I’m yours right now. He speaks in a manner of determination. Ambrož Line 102) And I’ll do whatever it takes to continue being yours. Ambrož Line 103) I would never dare put your heart in peril for something as pathetic as cheating*. *Refer back to line 75 of this episode. Ambrož Line 104) Our relationship is my top priority, and I am committed to it wholeheartedly~ Ambrož Line 105) These words may just seem like empty promises to you, but as you said, only time will tell*. *Refer back to line 70 of this episode. Ambrož speaks smugly, smiling at Oumou happily. Ambrož Line 106) This may sound cocky, but I can assure you that time will prove me right~ Ambrož tucks a piece of Oumou’s curls behind her ear fondly. He speaks in a sincere tone, booping her nose playfully. Ambrož Line 107) Just you wait ♡ He quickly pecks her lips, leaning his forehead onto hers adoringly. She smirks at him appreciatively, speaking sentimentally. Oumou Line 108) I’ll wait however long it takes~ The both of them chuckle at each other. Oumou speaks in a tone of curiosity, smiling at Ambrož in joy. Oumou Line 109) So… about you saying you played with cows as a kid*, tell me more. *Refer back to line 53 of this episode. Ambrož cheerfully explains, feeling touched by Oumou’s interest. Ambrož Line 110) Of course. Being from the countryside and my parents being sheep farmer*, we’d run into cows frequently prancing around in their natural habitat… *Refer back to episode 1, lines 16�"19, etc. Oumou listens keenly, her eyes twinkling as she gazes at Ambrož.
