After Theo ends his call with Přemysl, forcing him to stop by his place since he has something to give to him, Přemysl gets ready for the day, grabbing a taxi to arrive at Theo’s place. Přemysl arrives at Theo’s neighborhood, stepping out of the taxi after paying the driver. He walks around the neighborhood, trying to locate Theo’s house. Theo spots Přemysl wandering around his neighborhood and approaches him from behind to scare him. Přemysl’s body jolts from the fright. He turns around irritatedly, glancing at Theo in frustration. He speaks in a curious tone. Přemysl Line 1) What are you doing outside? Theo Line 2) I was waiting for you. Přemysl speaks in a manner of disbelief. Přemysl Line 3) Out in the cold? Are you dumb? Theo explains himself excitedly. Theo Line 4) I’m used to this kind of weather. Look at the snow angels I made over there. Theo points at a random neighbor's lawn. Přemysl speaks puzzlingly, wondering why Theo would go out of his way to do something like that. Přemysl Line 5) Why would you do that on someone else's property? Theo responds enthusiastically. Theo Line 6) The snow on my lawn has footprints. The one over there was so perfect! I just couldn’t resist! Přemysl speaks in a blunt tone, getting to the point. Přemysl Line 7) Anyway, why’d you force me to come to your place? Shouldn’t you be spending the holiday with your family? Theo starts walking, prompting Přemysl to walk alongside him. Theo explains himself to reassure Přemysl. Theo Line 8) I AM spending the holidays with my family. In fact, various members of my family from Brazil came to visit. It’s a yearly thing. I just stepped out for a bit since they’re chit-chatting. Přemysl speaks in a tone of curiosity. Přemysl Line 9) Are you saying you're from Brazil? Theo proudly responds. Theo Line 10) Yeah. My name is Teodoro Parahyba, after all. Přemysl looks at Theo in shock. Přemysl Line 11) Teodoro, not Theodore? Theo nods his head confirmingly. Přemysl speaks inquisitively. Přemysl Line 12) Then, why does everyone at school call you Theo? Theo responds in a sarcastic manner. Theo Line 13) Ever heard of nicknames? Přemysl rolls his eyes at Theo. He continues the conversation, glancing at Theo in interest, wanting to know more. Přemysl Line 14) Brazil, huh? Do your relatives find Michigan cold? Theo speaks in an informative tone. Theo Line 15) They do. They’re from Rio de Janeiro, which is pretty hot year-round. Přemysl attentively nods his head. Přemysl Line 16) Interesting. Have you ever lived there before? Theo Line 17) Yeah. Then, I moved out to Michigan when I was around 5. Přemysl speaks in an interested manner. Přemysl Line 18) What was it like? Theo speaks charismatically. Theo Line 19) Everything you could ever have imagined. Theo Line 20) My memory is slightly fuzzy, but I remember spending most of my time at the Copacabana beach. My family and I still visit every now and then. Theo speaks alluringly. Theo Line 21) Sipping on coconuts. You know, all that jazz. Přemysl releases a chuckle of amusement. He continues pressing on with his questions. Přemysl Line 22) So, why’d you move? Theo responds in a smug manner. Theo Line 23) My dad’s quite the brainiac and wanted to go to school in America. Přemysl speaks in a tone of pleasant surprise. Přemysl Line 24) Really? That’s so cool! Theo agrees proudly. Theo Line 25) Uh-huh! He has a PhD. Přemysl speaks inquisitively. Přemysl Line 26) What does he do? Theo Line 27) He’s a research scientist. Přemysl responds admirably. Přemysl Line 28) Wow! Kudos to him! Přemysl speaks in a conclusive tone. Přemysl Line 29) I guess that explains why you surprisingly have straight A’s. Theo releases a chuckle, speaking in a curious manner. Theo Line 30) Why is that surprising? Přemysl speaks playfully. Přemysl Line 31) You just wouldn’t expect someone who looks like a delinquent to be at the top of the class. Theo speaks in a tone of disbelief. Theo Line 32) I look like a delinquent? Přemysl explains himself correctfully. Přemysl Line 33) Yeah. Your gothic aesthetic* doesn’t necessarily scream “goodie two shoes”. *Remember that Theo is a goth (refer back to episode 19, line 78). Theo bursts into laughter. Theo Line 34) You sound like my parents. Přemysl gets hit with a wave of curiosity about Theo’s style. Přemysl Line 35) Honestly, why do you dress the way you do? Theo speaks in a tone of confusion. Theo Line 36) Why are you so inquisitive today? You practically never ask these kinds of questions. Přemysl thinks to himself, coming up with a conclusion. A wistful expression comes along his face. Line 37) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Maybe it’s because I’m trying to divert my attention to something else. Přemysl speaks in a manner of interest. Přemysl Line 38) Well, I’m asking now. The least you could do is answer. Theo explains himself indifferently. Theo Line 39) I just so happen to like this style. Do you? Přemysl shrugs, continuing on with his questions. Přemysl Line 40) Does your style have anything to do with your interest in the occult*? *Remember that Theo is the occult club leader at Přemysl’s school (refer back to episode 23, line 38, etc). Theo explains himself in a clarifying tone. Theo Line 41) Not at all. And I wouldn’t necessarily say that I have an “interest” in the occult. Přemysl speaks in a manner of confusion. Přemysl Line 42) How could you not be interested in the occult when you’re an occult club leader? Theo continues clarifying himself. Theo Line 43) Just because I’m a club leader doesn’t really mean I care about what I’m leading. Theo Line 44) I just decided to lead this club because it seemed more entertaining than the other options they had, like “Future Leaders of America.” Plus, I was voted to be the leader by everyone in the club, even though they know I feel this way. Theo speaks joyfully. Theo Line 45) We get to go on all sorts of adventures. Plus, it looks unique on my academic record. It’s a win-win situation. Přemysl speaks in a tone of disappointment. Přemysl Line 46) So, you really don’t care about the occult? Theo reassures Přemysl. Theo Line 47) I care about the club, and I have to do a lot of research about the topic, but I’m not passionate about it. Theo speaks stubbornly. Theo Line 48) Besides, I don’t really believe in supernatural stuff. I feel like humans are advanced enough to have caught something by now, yet we haven’t. Přemysl glances at Theo smugly. Line 49) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: He’s so oblivious. How shocked would he be to know that there’s living proof right in front of him? Přemysl gets hit with a wave of realization. Line 50) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Wait. I wouldn’t be considered “living proof”, though, since I’m technically dead. Theo speaks acknowledgingly. Theo Line 51) It’s actually ironic I think this way because my family is extremely superstitious. Theo Line 52) We’ll definitely be eating pomegranates and lentils when it's New Year's. Přemysl releases a giddy chuckle. Theo speaks in a stern tone. Theo Line 53) Okay. Now, it’s time for me to ask questions. Theo speaks curiously. Theo Line 54) Not sure why I never asked this before, but where are you from? Přemysl Line 55) Bohe*" I mean Czech Republic. Přemysl glances at Theo nervously from the very close slip-up. *Remember that the Czech Republic used to be called the “Kingdom of Bohemia”, (refer back to episode 1, details in between lines 62"63, etc). Theo speaks in a manner of delight.
Theo Line 56) Woah. And what is it like there? Přemysl speaks in a smug tone. Přemysl Line 57) “Everything you could ever have imagined*.” *Refer back to line 19 of this episode. Theo smirks at Přemysl using his words back at him. Theo questions Přemysl for clarification. Theo Line 58) So you lived there before you moved to America? Přemysl speaks in a melancholic tone. Přemysl Line 59) Yeah. I haven’t visited in a very long time. Theo speaks curiously. Theo Line 60) Any family back there? Přemysl speaks in a hesitant manner, glancing at Theo upsettingly. Přemysl Line 61) … Unfortunately no. Theo frowns at Přemysl’s sadness. He tries to divert the topic onto something else to lift Přemysl’s spirits. Theo Line 62) Do your parents have accents? Přemysl responds wistfully. Přemysl Line 63) They did. Theo puts the pieces together, concluding Přemysl’s circumstances with his family. He speaks in a tone of sorrow. Theo Line 64) I had no idea. I’m so sorry. Přemysl speaks in a manner of dejection. Přemysl Line 65) Of course, you had no idea. I never told you. Theo attempts to divert the conversation again, speaking hesitantly. Theo Line 66) … Any siblings perhaps? Přemysl Line 67) My “real” brother passed away along with my parents*... *Refer to episode 5, lines 55"110, etc. Přemysl Line 68) My “other” brother and I aren’t on speaking terms. Theo Line 69) The guy we saw at the mall*? *Refer back to episode 35, lines 72"77, etc. Přemysl speaks in a tone of shock. Přemysl Line 70) Y-You saw him? Theo responds apprehensively. Theo Line 71) Yeah… I just kept silent about it since you seemed really riled up at the moment. Theo speaks in an apologetic manner. Theo Line 72) I’m sorry for prying. Let’s switch the topic" Přemysl abruptly interjects. Přemysl Line 73) Can I get your opinion on something? Theo speaks in an uncertain tone. Theo Line 74) Uh. Are you sure you want it? Přemysl hopelessly nods his head, with a remorseful expression engulfing his face. Přemysl takes in a deep breath before delving into the conversation. Přemysl Line 75) Is there something you find extremely alluring? Theo thinks to himself. Theo Line 76) I like traveling, whether it be in the state or somewhere else. Přemysl speaks in a serious tone. Přemysl Line 77) What if I didn’t give you permission to travel? Theo releases a suppressed laugh. He speaks in a frantic tone. Theo Line 78) S-Sorry. I didn’t mean to laugh… Theo clears his throat, taking the conversation seriously. Theo Line 79) I obviously wouldn’t listen to you. Přemysl explains himself passionately. Přemysl Line 80) But what if you HAD to listen to me because I’m trying to keep you safe? Theo continues defending his claim. Theo Line 81) I still wouldn’t listen. It’s my choice to do what I want to do, and I’m sure that by going against you, I’m well aware of the risks I’m taking. Theo speaks in a sincere tone. Theo Line 82) You can’t dictate the things I choose to do. That’s like me telling you to stop eating cupcakes*. *Přemysl loves cupcakes (refer back to episode 15, line 88). Přemysl contemplates the trajectory of their conversation. Line 83) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: These silly comparisons don’t fully capture my situation. Theo speaks in a manner of confusion. Theo Line 84) Is that what you wanted my opinion on? Přemysl disregards his plan from earlier and speaks in an indirect way. Přemysl Line 85) Not necessarily. Let’s just say, hypothetically, this isn’t based on any real circumstances, so don’t misinterpret… Přemysl speaks in a tone of guilt. Přemysl Line 86) I’ve been ingraining abstinence from something detrimental that my brother finds alluring to delve into because I have paranoia. His voice switches into a tone of resentment. Přemysl Line 87) After years of listening to me, he secretly goes against my wishes to feed his curiosity, telling me that I’m wrong about it because he’s found someone that he thinks understands him. Přemysl speaks desperately. Přemysl Line 88) Have I gone too far by kicking him out of the house and saying I never want to see him ever again because he disregarded my trauma by venturing out? Theo speaks in a sarcastic manner. Theo Line 89) And you’re sure this isn’t based on any real circumstances? Přemysl clarifies Theo’s sarcastic remark in annoyance. Přemysl Line 90) As I mentioned, this is just a hypothetical situation. So, what’s your take? Theo glances at Přemysl hesitantly. Přemysl reads Theo’s expression, assuming he’s holding back. Přemysl Line 91) You can tell me the truth. What’s your honest opinion? Theo speaks apprehensively. Theo Line 92) I don’t know the full context, nor do you need to tell me, but based on you saying that your brother, going against your wishes, means he’s disregarding your trauma, I don’t think you’ve gone too far kicking by him out of the house. Přemysl glances at Theo in shock. Theo glances at Přemysl nervously. Theo Line 93) I-Is that not the answer you were hoping to hear? Přemysl speaks in an adamant tone of confusion. Přemysl Line 94) You don’t think I’m wrong? Theo reassures Přemysl. Theo Line 95) Maybe saying you never want to see your brother again is a bit much, but no. Your reaction seems perfectly valid to me. Theo speaks curiously. Theo Line 96) So, what’s the reason you’re asking me this? Přemysl speaks confusingly. Přemysl Line 97) I was expecting you to tell me that I’m wrong. Theo responds puzzlingly. Theo Line 98) It’s not particularly reassuring to hear something like that, though. Přemysl tries to process Theo’s response. Line 99) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I thought that if Theo told me I was wrong, that’d bring me some self-awareness. Přemysl switches the topic. Přemysl Line 100) Okay… Would you say that what he did is forgivable? Theo shrugs, speaking unsurely. Theo Line 101) That depends on how bad your brother hurt you. Přemysl speaks in a desperate tone. Přemysl Line 102) But don’t you think he deserves another chance? Theo speaks curiously. Theo Line 103) Has he been asking for another one? Přemysl speaks in a manner of confusion, not knowing how he feels about his situation with Ambrož. Přemysl Line 104) Not necessarily. He’s actually been trying to convince me that I’m wrong, but I’ve been purposefully ignoring his calls. Přemysl speaks reassuringly. Přemysl Line 105) I know that sounds bad, but it’s not like he’s trying to rub his stance in my face. I can’t tell you the full details, but he’s not trying to tell me he told me so. Přemysl speaks upsettingly. Přemysl Line 106) He’s trying to get me on his side. And I’ve been missing him lately because I feel so alone during the holidays without him. Přemysl speaks in a tone of guilt, drooping his head in shame. Přemysl Line 107) My loneliness has prompted me to question whether or not banishing him from contact with me was too much. Theo speaks in an uncertain manner. Theo Line 108) I’m not sure I know how to help you. Theo speaks sympathetically. Theo Line 109) But, it seems like the two of you are just on completely separate pages. Theo suggests a solution unconfidently, glancing at Přemysl apprehensively. Theo Line 110) Maybe reaching out to him can solve your disagreement? Přemysl speaks in a doubtful tone. Přemysl Line 111) I’m not sure. Theo speaks encouragingly. Theo Line 112) In that case, just wait for him. His voice switches into an analytical tone. Theo Line 113) Just because you’re lonely for the holidays, doesn’t mean that you should forgive him so that he can provide you company. Theo Line 114) You’re probably not thinking logically because of your loneliness, so just wait until he makes a move. Theo speaks in a forgiving manner. Theo Line 115) Once he does, hear him out. Don’t ignore his calls. Theo Line 116) If he made previous efforts to call you, that means he still cares. Theo speaks in a supportive tone, wanting Přemysl to prioritize his well-being. Theo Line 117) But give yourself time to heal and reassess the situation. Theo speaks in a manner, seeking clarification. Theo Line 118) You want to hear my input because you’re uncertain about what you should do, right? Přemysl nods his head sadly. Theo responds suggestively. Theo Line 119) Well, in that case, just wait until you're certain about what you should do. Theo speaks apologetically. Theo Line 120) I’m sorry that I can’t be of more help. Přemysl speaks reassuringly. Přemysl Line 121) That’s nothing to be sorry about. Thank you for trying your best. Theo speaks welcomingly. Theo Line 122) That’s no prob" Theo’s mom calls for him on their house’s porch to head back inside. Theo speaks in a frantic tone. Theo Line 123) Ah. I need to head back in. Want to join me? We have plenty of food for another guest. Přemysl responds in a reluctant manner. Přemysl Line 124) That’s okay. Enjoy the day with your family. I shouldn’t intrude. Theo speaks reassuringly. Theo Line 125) Trust me. That’s not a problem. You’re welcome anytime. Přemysl speaks in a stern manner. Přemysl Line 126) I insist. We can always hang out another day. Theo speaks in a tone of determination, wanting to offer Přemysl a favor. Theo Line 127) Hang tight. Let me quickly tell my mom that I’ll be driving you home. Přemysl speaks in a reassuring manner. Přemysl Line 128) No need. I’ll get back on my own. Thanks for the offer. Theo speaks insistently. Theo Line 129) Are you sure? Přemysl confidently nods his head yes. Theo reaches into his sweater pocket, pulling out a gift box. He hands it over to Přemysl in a friendly way. He smiles at him happily. Theo Line 130) Open this at home. Have a great rest of your day, okay? Přemysl nods his head, speaking in an appreciative manner. Přemysl Line 131) Thank you. I’ll make sure to bring something next time. Have a great Christmas!
