The day is December 25th, 2004. It's a Saturday afternoon. Ambrož prepares some hot chocolate for himself and Oumou, bringing it over to the couch where she’s sitting after they unwrap the presents they gifted each other for the holiday. Oumou happily smiles at Ambrož as he hands the hot chocolate over to her. She speaks appreciatively. Oumou Line 1) Thank you~ This is the perfect drink for the day! Ambrož smirks at Oumou in joy, planting himself beside her. He places his arm around her shoulder, with her leaning her head on it in return. Oumou speaks happily. Oumou Line 2) I love how cozy today has been~ Ambrož speaks in a mutual manner. Ambrož Line 3) Me too. It’s been great so far. Oumou speaks in a tone of excitement. Oumou Line 4) How do you like our matching Christmas sweaters? Ambrož matches Oumou’s energy. Ambrož Line 5) Are you kidding me? I love them! Oumou speaks in a manner of relief. Oumou Line 6) I’m glad to hear that. I thought getting you something like that to match with me would seem too cheesy. Ambrož speaks enthusiastically. Oumou releases a sigh of remorse. Ambrož glances at her in a playfully offended manner. Ambrož Line 11) Just take things as they are. I’m the gift-giver at the end of the day. Oumou speaks in a tone of shame. Oumou Line 12) I just feel bad. It seems like my presents are nothing compared to yours. Ambrož faces himself toward Oumou, grabbing ahold of her face and glancing into her eyes sternly. Ambrož Line 13) You’re wrong. I love all the presents you got for me. I couldn’t have asked for more. Oumou speaks disagreeably. Oumou Line 14) I’m not convinced for some reason. It seems like you’re only saying that because you’re my boyfriend. Ambrož blushes, speaking smugly. Ambrož Line 15) That’s right! I AM your boyfriend! Ambrož defends his claim passionately. Ambrož Line 16) Anyway, let me explain myself. The watch you got me perfectly goes with my fashion style… Ambrož Line 17) The French press you got me goes perfectly with my coffee addiction… Ambrož speaks enthusiastically. Ambrož Line 18) And this matching sweater is adorable. It’s perfect for the occasion! I wouldn’t want to be twinning with anyone besides you! Ambrož Line 19) Now, are you convinced? Can’t you see that everything you got me has been so amazing?! Oumou droops her head down in shame, feeling regretful. Oumou Line 20) But it’s so little compared to what you got me. Ambrož responds devotedly. Ambrož Line 21) It isn’t. Each gift you've given me has deep meanings. They’re sentimental and memorable. Oumou speaks in a tone of disbelief. Oumou Line 22) You’re not just saying that? Ambrož speaks sincerely, trying his best to convince Oumou. Ambrož Line 23) Of course not. I mean everything I say. I genuinely appreciate your consideration abundantly. Ambrož speaks affectionately, booping Oumou’s nose. Ambrož Line 24) Besides, the greatest gift you’ve gifted me has been becoming my girlfriend~ Oumou blushes, letting out a giddy chuckle. She responds in a mutual manner. Oumou Line 25) And the greatest gift you’ve gifted me has been becoming my boyfriend~ Ambrož smiles at Oumou cheerfully. Ambrož Line 26) You have no idea how happy I am to hear that! Ambrož leans in to gently kiss Oumou’s cheek. She smiles at him in happiness, speaking bashfully. Oumou Line 27) But either way, the pajamas, slippers, purse, ip0d, mug, candle, beanie, coat, orchid you got me are still too much, in my opinion. Ambrož speaks in a smug manner. Ambrož Line 28) Like I said, just accept everything. Don’t you know it’s bad manners not to*? *Remember that Ambrož said this to Oumou when they first started meeting each other. Refer back to episode 14, line 77. Oumou gets hit with the memory of Ambrož saying that statement to her. She speaks in a nostalgic tone. Oumou Line 29) That took me down memory lane. Ambrož glances at Oumou in playful confusion, wondering how the tension between them became sappy all of a sudden. Ambrož Line 30) That wasn’t too long ago, though. Oumou speaks in a tender manner. Oumou Line 31) Still, look how far we’ve come. Oumou leans her head on Ambrož’s shoulder, interlocking her hand into his affectionately. He places his arm around her shoulder, snuggling into her side. Oumou looks up at Ambrož curiously. Ambrož’s eyebrows melt from Oumou’s wholesome expression. She speaks in a tone that seeks assurance. Oumou Line 32) Did you envision this kind of outcome sometime soon? Ambrož speaks in an agreeable manner. His voice filled with notes of surprise. Ambrož Line 33) I did. I just didn’t expect it to happen earlier. Oumou glances at Ambrož in guilt. She speaks apprehensively. Oumou Line 34) Do you think I rushed you into this? Ambrož speaks reassuringly, placing his hand on Oumou’s cheek while gently caressing it. He keenly gazes into her eyes, with the ambient lights of his place illuminating the hazel pigments of his eyes. Ambrož Line 35) Not at all. I just didn’t expect this to happen so soon. Ambrož speaks in a sentimental manner. Ambrož Line 36) But now that it has happened, it feels right. Ambrož Line 37) I couldn’t have asked for better timing. So, don’t worry about that. Ambrož speaks in a tone of dedication. Ambrož Line 38) In fact, the timing is more than perfect. This is the most romantic time of the year, after all. Oumou leans into Ambrož’s shoulder some more, snuggling into it comfortably. She speaks in a manner of relief. Oumou Line 39) You completely dissipate my worries. It's like being wrapped in a warm blanket. Thank you~ Ambrož smirks at Oumou’s gesture, ruffling her puffy hair. A question comes across his mind from the remark he made earlier. Ambrož Line 40) Speaking of romance, don’t you know how people say Paris is the city of romance? Oumou responds in a tone of delight. Oumou Line 41) Oh, really? That makes a lot of sense! Ambrož speaks in an interested manner. Ambrož Line 42) When we matched on the dating app, I noticed that a picture you used was one where you were posing beside the Eiffel Tower*. I never asked you how Paris was. *Refer back to episode 9, details between lines 31�"33. Oumou speaks in a tone of delighted surprise. Oumou Line 43) I can’t believe you remember that! Oumou speaks reminiscently. Oumou Line 44) Paris was amazing! I was able to visit through a study abroad program that my college offered. I was there for about a month. Ambrož speaks excitedly. Ambrož Line 45) That’s great! What was it like? Oumou Line 46) It’s more of a "see it for yourself kind of thing". I don't think my explanations can fully convey the true essence of my stay. Ambrož responds proudly. Ambrož Line 47) I’m glad you had a good time~ Oumou speaks in a bittersweet manner. Oumou Line 48) Thank you. I would suggest going somewhere together, just you and me, but now doesn’t seem like the best time, especially since winter break is coming to a close. Ambrož speaks alluringly. Ambrož Line 49) We can go anywhere you want to, anytime you want to, as well. Oumou smugly squints her eyes at Ambrož, responding playfully. Oumou Line 50) Nice try, but you’ve already done enough for me. You’re not allowed to do anymore. Capeesh? Ambrož speaks intriguingly. Ambrož Line 51) How about you give me some legroom by allowing me to take you out to dinner later today? Oumou smirks at Ambrož’s smooth talk. Ambrož speaks in a tone of determination. Ambrož Line 52) It’s been a bit since we’ve gone out to dinner together. What do you say? Oumou gives in, speaking in a manner of excitement. Oumou Line 53) That would be delightful! Ambrož speaks in a tone of relief. Ambrož Line 54) Thank goodness you agreed. We haven’t gone out anywhere in 3 days. Oumou speaks in a playful manner, nudging Ambrož’s chest teasingly. Oumou Line 55) What’s wrong with staying at home? It’s not my fault that your place is so darn comfy. Ambrož releases a chuckle of happiness, finding Oumou’s defensive demeanor amusing. *Shot cuts to Přemysl at his house, lying in his bed sadly. He contemplates his responsibilities, feeling heavily unmotivated. Line 56) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: It’s already lunchtime, yet I can’t manage to get out of bed. Přemysl dismisses his responsibilities, defending his unmotivated mood. Line 57) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Who says I have to get out, though? My house, my rules. Přemysl covers himself with his covers, snuggling up in bed, then sitting himself up and crossing his arms in dissatisfaction. He thinks disappointedly. Line 58) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: That’s not gonna work. The habitual routine of getting up in a timely manner is far too ingrained in my head. Přemysl places his face into his hands, rubbing it in exhaustion. Line 59) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I feel so empty today. The house is a lot quieter than usual. Přemysl gets hit with a wave of betrayal. Line 60) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Just why did he stop calling me? Line 61) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Has he already given up hope? That’s so unlike him. Přemysl smacks his face, for him to come to his senses. He crosses his arms stubbornly. Line 62) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I’m not about to fret over Ambrož again. He lets out a sigh of distress. Line 63) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Because I’ve been by myself lately, he’s all I can think about. Přemysl clicks his tongue in annoyance. Line 64) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: That’s it. I just need to distract myself. Might as well text Theo in the meantime. Přemysl grabs his phone, preparing to text Theo. He questions his approach, not knowing how he should text him. Line 65) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Should I ask him if he’s free to hang out? Přemysl gets hit with a wave of realization, smacking his head from the obvious. Line 66) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: It’s Christmas today. Why would he be free? Line 67) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: He’s most likely spending the day with family. Přemysl droops his head in sadness. Line 68) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I wish I could say the same. He thinks reminiscently. Line 69) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: This time of season brings me back to the old days. Christmas was so much fun with the folks. Přemysl’s face encompasses an expression of remorse. Line 70) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: It’s a shame things aren’t like that anymore. Přemysl smacks his face again, trying to come to his senses once more. Line 71) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Jeez. My inner circle is so small that I have no one to resort to in times like this. I’m all alone. Přemysl gets hit with a wave of self-awareness. Line 72) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I… Really am all alone… He hugs his knees, with his eyebrows furrowing in distress. Line 73) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I’ve got this big old house all to myself, but no one to share it with. Přemysl lets his low self-esteem take over. Line 74) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Perhaps wallowing is all I’m good at. Line 75) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Maybe Ambrož did the right thing, leaving me. Přemysl gets a text from Theo, snapping him out of his existential daze. He glances at the message in shock, not anticipating for Theo to be the one to text Přemysl first. Line 76) Theo’s text message: Merry Christmas!🎄How’s break going for you? Are you enjoying it? Přemysl contemplates his response. He thinks in a melancholic manner. Line 77) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: It’s so thoughtful of him to wish me a happy holiday. Line 78) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I can’t say that I’m not doing well. That would bum him out. Line 79) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I guess I’ll just lie then. Přemysl responds to Theo’s message. Line 80) Přemysl’s text message: Merry Christmas to you too! 🎁 Break hasn’t been bad. It’s good to have time off from school to refresh. Theo calls Přemysl. Přemysl glances at his phone in disconcertion. Line 81) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: He’s calling me?! Line 82) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I don’t have a good excuse to decline, and he knows I’m active since I just replied to his message. Line 83) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: I guess I have no choice but to answer. Přemysl accepts the call from Theo, apprehensively placing the phone to his ear. Přemysl Line 84) Uh… Theo? Theo mimics Přemysl. Theo Line 85) Uh… Orlin*? *Remember that “Orlin” is the pseudonym that Theo knows Přemysl by. Refer back to episode 15, lines 61�"71, etc. Přemysl speaks in a tone of irritation. Přemysl Line 86) Are you mocking me? Theo responds in a playful manner. Theo Line 87) Definitely. You sound so confused. What’s the deal? Přemysl Line 88) … I just wasn’t expecting you to call me. Theo speaks enthusiastically. Theo Line 89) Isn’t it a pleasant surprise, though? I feel like calling is ten times better than texting. Přemysl responds in an uncertain tone. Přemysl Line 90) Sure… Anyway, why are you calling? Especially on a day like this. Theo explains himself determinedly. Theo Line 91) Firstly, to hear your tone, which proved my conclusion right. You haven’t been enjoying your break. Přemysl speaks in a tone of shock. Přemysl Line 92) H-How did you know? Theo speaks in a smug manner. Theo Line 93) It doesn’t take a detective to figure out that you wrote your message out of character. You sound like my old next-door neighbor who brings over the best pecan pie I’ve ever tasted in my life. Přemysl rolls his eyes in annoyance. He speaks in a tone of offense. Přemysl Line 94) And you know me so well how? Theo speaks in a blunt manner. Theo Line 95) Your personality isn’t hard to miss. You’re not as mysterious as you think you are. Přemysl clicks his tongue in frustration. Line 96) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: He knows nothing about me. Přemysl speaks in a dismissive tone. Přemysl Line 97) Alright. Whatever. Anyway�" Theo abruptly interjects, speaking curiously. Theo Line 98) Are you free right now? Přemysl speaks in a tone of surprise. Přemysl Line 99) Huh? What? Theo speaks agreeably. Theo Line 100) Great! Swing by my place. I have something I want to give to you. Přemysl tries to clear up the confusion between them. Přemysl Line 101) I never said�" Theo cuts Přemysl off once again, speaking in a tone of excitement. Theo Line 102) See you soon! Theo ends the call with Přemysl. Přemysl glances at his phone in shock. He tilts his head to the side, nonchalantly letting Theo’s plan slide after thinking about it. Line 103) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Surprisingly, I’m not against that suggestion. He pulled me out of a breakdown I was about to have. Line 104) Přemysl’s inner thoughts: Theo… You have good timing.
