At brunch, Oumou wishes Ambrož a happy belated birthday, suggesting they get a cake and celebrate together since he kept it a secret, causing her to miss it. Ambrož speaks in an insistent manner. Ambrož Line 1) I appreciate your enthusiasm, but celebrating isn’t necessary. Oumou glances at Ambrož in disconcertion, speaking in a tone of offense. Oumou Line 2) How is celebrating not necessary? It’s your birthday! Ambrož speaks indifferently. Ambrož Line 3) Exactly. It’s just a birthday. Nothing special. Oumou speaks in a tone of passion. Oumou Line 4) Your birthday is special, though. It only comes once every year. Don’t just let it idly pass you by. Oumou speaks determinedly. Oumou Line 5) I don’t care what you say. We’re going to celebrate together today. I already told you no objections*. *Refer back to episode 34, line 104. Oumou Line 6) We have to compensate for that missed day, okay? Oumou Line 7) Let’s get started after brunch! Ambrož smiles at Oumou, glancing at her in a manner that yields to her insistence. He lets out a sigh of amusement. Line 8) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: How could I say no when she’s this excited? Ambrož Line 9) If you say so… Oumou glances at Ambrož playfully begrudgingly. Oumou Line 10) I still don’t understand why you couldn’t just tell me about it earlier in the week. There’s nothing wrong with “proclaiming*” your birthday. *Refer back to episode 34, line 102. Ambrož explains himself nervously. Ambrož Line 11) You just didn’t ask. What did you expect me to do? Call you up that day to tell you about my birthday? Oumou speaks in a snarky manner. Oumou Line 12) Honestly, yeah. That’s what I would do. If I did that, would you find it weird? Oumou glances at Ambrož playfully, acting like the devil’s advocate. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring tone. Ambrož Line 13) When it’s you, it’s not weird. Me on the other hand… Oumou speaks dismissively, aligning her objectives. Oumou Line 14) Anyway, from now on, tell me about these important things. Not only do I need to know, I want to, too. Ambrož blushes at Oumou’s statement. Oumou speaks in a yearnful manner, glancing at Ambrož with puppy dog eyes. Oumou Line 15) Promise you’ll tell me? Ambrož speaks agreeably. Ambrož Line 16) Fine, but if I forget at the last minute, please don’t be upset. Oumou speaks in a trusting manner. Oumou Line 17) That’s okay. I’ll remind you~ The brunch waiter swings by their table, letting them order their dishes and drinks for the feast. Ambrož and Oumou continue their conversation as they eat, wrapping up when they finish their meals. The both of them go on a stroll together outside the brunch site, holding hands as they walk. Oumou speaks in an informative tone. Oumou Line 18) So, here’s the plan… Oumou Line 19) After we walk around for a bit, let’s head to a store so that we can buy decor* to set up a Christmas tree at your place, as well as decking the halls for some festivity. *Refer back to episode 34, line 81. Oumou Line 20) While we’re at the store, we can buy a cake and some candles for the celebration. Oumou speaks dedicatedly. Oumou Line 21) I would gladly bake something up for you, but I’m not sure if my cooking skills will translate well into baking, especially since various people have said it’s way harder. Oumou speaks in a precautious manner, her voice hinting at notes of disappointment. Oumou Line 22) I wouldn’t want to attempt baking a cake only for it to be subpar. That would kill the celebratory mood we’ve got going on. Oumou’s voice changes into a tone of joy. Oumou Line 23) Anyway, we’ll get situated and hang with each other for the rest of the day. How does that sound? Ambrož speaks excitedly. Ambrož Line 24) That sounds great! Oumou gets hit with a wave of realization. She speaks in a manner of concern. Oumou Line 25) Is doing this too much for you? Is that why you didn’t tell me about your birthday in the first place? Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 26) You could never be too much for me, Oumou… Ambrož Line 27) In fact, you’re more than enough… Which kind of doesn’t make sense after I said you’re not too much, but I hope you get what I mean. Ambrož speaks in an apprehensive tone. Ambrož Line 28) I didn’t tell you in the first place because it felt too awkward and late. I just didn’t want to be a hassle for you because I had the feeling that you’d go out of your way to do something like this*. *Refer back to episode 33, line 40. Ambrož speaks hesitantly, feeling like he’s burdening Oumou. Ambrož Line 29) On the contrary, I think that I’m being too much. Oumou speaks in a reassuring manner, smiling at Ambrož comfortingly. Oumou Line 30) You aren’t. As I mentioned, I like doing these kinds of things*, especially if they’re for people I care about. *Refer back to episode 34, line 82. Ambrož blushes at Oumou’s remark, feeling flustered. Line 31) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: She’s saying she cares about me? Oumou Line 32) Things like this are never a hassle for me. I just thought that maybe me going out of my way to do this felt too intrusive for you. Ambrož speaks in a manner of ease. Ambrož Line 33) Not at all. I feel very special. I agree~ Ambrož smirks at Oumou affectionately, feeling deeply cared for. The both of them continue with their stroll, glancing around the area they’re walking in. Oumou looks up ahead, reading the writing of a building. She speaks in a curious manner. Oumou Line 36) Hey, is that a mall? Oumou points her finger at the building she’s looking at. Ambrož adjusts his glasses, glancing at the labeling indicating that the building is indeed a mall. Ambrož speaks in a tone of confirmation. Ambrož Line 37) Yeah, it is. Oumou speaks in a manner of delight. Oumou Line 38) How convenient! Let’s just go there to shop! Oumou Line 39) I’m positive they have a map of some sort that lists all kinds of places to visit. They’re bound to have a store that sells decor. Oumou grabs ahold of Ambrož’s arm, pulling him along as they walk to the building. He happily obliges, smiling at Oumou in joy for her efforts. Line 40) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I feel so prioritized by her. She’s so sweet to me, no matter what I do. The both of them arrive at the mall, glancing at the map centered in the middle of the area. Oumou’s eyes skim the places listed, trying to land on a store. Her eyes land on a promising place. She points at the location for Ambrož to know. Oumou Line 41) Let’s go here to buy decor. I’m sure this store has a wide array of options, but I’m not sure if they have cake. I want to get you a good one. She glances back at the map, trying to find a cafe or bakery of some sort at the mall. Her eyes spark when she lands on a place. She points at it again for Ambrož to know. Oumou Line 42) Let’s go to this bakery afterward to buy you a cake. Seems like they’ll have some yummy stuff. Ambrož happily glances at Oumou, obliging to her plan. The both of them head to the store, gathering all the decor they need to decorate with as they shop and snagging some candles for Ambrož’s cake. Oumou secretly places a trench coat in her shopping cart, hiding without Ambrož seeing or noticing. They make their way over to the check-out section, with the cashier scanning all their items as they place them on a conveyor belt. Ambrož swiftly gets his card out, ready to pay for the items. Oumou gently grabs ahold of Ambrož’s hand, lowering it. She speaks in a manner of confusion. Oumou Line 43) What are you doing? Ambrož’s eyebrows raise from Oumou’s gesture. Ambrož Line 44) I’m going to pay. Oumou speaks in a tone of assertion. Oumou Line 45) No you aren’t. I’m paying. Ambrož explains his reasoning. Ambrož Line 46) We’re getting decor for my apartment. I should be the one to pay. Oumou defends her reasoning passionately. Oumou Line 47) This was my idea. I should be the one to pay. Ambrož speaks in a manner of confusion. Ambrož Line 48) Are you hearing yourself? That doesn’t make sense. Oumou sternly continues defending her claim. Oumou Line 49) I picked out all this stuff anyway. That DOES make sense. The cashier finishes scanning all their items, glancing at Ambrož and Oumou in irritation, finding their lover’s quarrel frustrating from them holding up the line. The both of them continue arguing, with the cashier interjecting, speaking in a manner of annoyance. Cashier Line 50) Can one of you guys just pay already? Both of you are holding up my line. We don’t have all day. Ambrož and Oumou flinch from the cashier’s snappy attitude. Ambrož swiftly takes a coin out of his wallet, getting ready to flip it while disregarding the cashier’s request. Ambrož Line 51) Heads I pay, tails you pay. Oumou playfully crosses her arms, squinting at Ambrož jokingly. Oumou Line 52) Fine. Flick it. Ambrož flips the coin, covering up the reveal and opening it to show that the coin landed on tails. Oumou speaks in a tone of victory, grabbing her wallet out of her trench coat’s pocket. Oumou Line 53) See? Even the universe wants me to pay. Ambrož interjects, speaking in a correctful tone. Ambrož Line 54) Actually, I said heads you pay, tails I pay; therefore, I’m the one who really won. Oumou speaks in a playfully skeptical manner. Oumou Line 55) Now you’re lying. That’s not what I heard. Ambrož speaks desperately. Ambrož Line 56) Can you please just let me pay? Oumou speaks stubbornly. Oumou Line 57) It’s essentially your birthday today. This is a part of your gift from me. Ambrož speaks unrelentingly. Ambrož Line 58) Oumou, let me�" The cashier interrupts Ambrož, yelling at the both of them to make haste. Cashier Line 59) CAN SOME JUST PAY ALREADY?! Ambrož and Oumou look at the cashier in shock from their outburst. Oumou swiftly hands the cashier her card, with them snagging it out of her grasp aggressively. Ambrož mumbles under his breath, loud enough for Oumou to hear beside him. He speaks in a judgeful manner. Ambrož Line 60) Jeez. Overreact much? Oumou releases a chuckle from Ambrož’s remark. The cashier gives him the stank eye, speaking in a snappy tone. Cashier Line 61) What was that?! Ambrož speaks in a relaxed tone. Ambrož Line 62) Oh, nothing. Sorry for the hold-up. He glances back at Oumou, giving her a playfully busted expression, winking at her from almost getting caught for the smack talk. She smiles at him in amusement, with the both of them gathering their shopping bags and Ambrož lugging the bag the Christmas tree is wrapped up in. They exit the store, bursting out in laughter from the interaction with the cashier. Oumou Line 63) Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever been scolded like that in my life! Ambrož speaks agreeably. Ambrož Line 64) Me neither. I was so taken aback. Oumou continues laughing, speaking joyfully. Oumou Line 65) That was hilarious! Ambrož continues standing by his claim. Ambrož Line 66) You really should’ve just let me pay though. Oumou speaks in a playful manner. Oumou Line 67) No take backs! Oumou Line 68) Anyway, let’s head to the bakery we saw earlier to get you a cake. Ambrož speaks in a tone of encouragement. Ambrož Line 69) Let me pay this time? Oumou speaks in an insistent tone. Oumou Line 70) Nope. Today is on me. Besides, you already paid for brunch. It’s only fair that I handle the rest of the expenses for the day. Ambrož Line 71) Fine. I’ll get you back another time. Oumou speaks competitively. Oumou Line 72) Not if I get you back first. Ambrož and Oumou make their way over to the bakery within the mall, strolling around together. Ambrož continues walking, looking around the mall and at the people passing by. He lands eye contact with a teenager, swerving his gaze, then getting hit with a wave of familiarity. He glances back at the teen, noticing that he’s gazing at Přemysl. Přemysl looks at Ambrož in shock, not expecting for them to run into each other at the mall*. *Remember that Přemysl and Theo went to the mall later in the day after playing video games. Refer back to episode 34, lines 36�"38. Ambrož smiles at Přemysl in relief, waving at him from across the mall. Přemysl swiftly grabs Theo’s arm, storming out of Ambrož’s view. Ambrož watches Přemysl leave in sadness. Oumou observes the entire situation, glancing at Ambrož sympathetically. *Shot cuts to Přemysl and Theo. Přemysl lets go of Theo’s arm after dragging him away from the direction they were heading. Theo speaks in a manner of confusion. Theo Line 73) What was that for? Are you okay? Přemysl takes a deep breath in, trying to calm himself down. Přemysl Line 74) Seems like he’s still fooling around with that girl… Theo speaks in a puzzling tone. Theo Line 75) What are you talking about? Přemysl speaks dismissively. Přemysl Line 76) Let’s just go a different way. It’s complicated. Theo awkwardly obliges. Theo Line 77) Um. Okay… *Shot cuts back to Ambrož and Oumou. Ambrož halts in his stance, processing his rejection from Přemysl. Oumou grabs ahold of Ambrož’s hand (even though both of them are holding shopping bags) and leads him to a resting bench in the mall. The both of them get seated beside each other, glancing across the mall from afar. Oumou speaks sympathetically. Oumou Line 78) … Was that your brother? Ambrož sadly nods his head yes. Oumou places her shopping bags on the ground, placing her hand on Ambrož’s back. She speaks in an apologetic tone. Oumou Line 79) I’m sorry he ran away. Ambrož speaks numbly, his eyes dull. Ambrož Line 80) I didn’t expect to see him today… Oumou speaks in a tone of disappointment. Oumou Line 81) He should’ve approached you. It’s not every day that you bump into someone like that. Ambrož speaks in a hopeless manner. Ambrož Line 82) He did say that he never wants to see me ever again. I guess that statement still holds true. Oumou speaks in a tone of sorrow. Oumou Line 83) I’m so sorry. I don’t know what to say. Oumou speaks in a manner of frustration. Oumou Line 84) Doesn’t he know that your birthday has already passed? If I were him, I would’ve wished you a happy birthday regardless of whether or not we’re in a disagreement. Ambrož releases a chuckle of amusement, finding Oumou’s remark funny Oumou glances at him in concern, speaking frantically. Oumou Line 85) I-Im so sorry. It’s not my place to speak. Ambrož smiles at Oumou happily. Oumou’s eyebrows furrow in distress. She speaks in a manner of worry. Oumou Line 86) U-Um. Your laughing is concerning me. Is there anything I can do to help? Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 87) I’m sorry to worry you. I just find it cute how you somehow found a way to spin this situation around my birthday. Oumou speaks in a frantic manner. Oumou Line 88) T-That’s not what I meant to do at all! Oumou tries to regain her composure, speaking in a fresh tone. Oumou Line 89) L-Let’s start over. Are you okay? Oumou gets hit with a wave of realization, speaking embarrassingly. Oumou Line 90) Obviously you aren’t. That’s a dumb question. I’m sorry�" Ambrož intervenes, speaking in a reassuring manner. Ambrož Line 91) I’m okay, Oumou. Thank you for considering my feelings. Ambrož Line 92) It is what it is, you know? If he wishes to stay away from me, so be it. Ambrož Line 93) I’ve done all I could, right? Oumou glances at Ambrož bittersweetly. She speaks sentimentally. Oumou Line 94) You’ve done more than enough. Just now that your efforts weren’t in vain. Oumou stands up, grabbing a hold of her shopping bags while managing to lend a hand to Ambrož. Oumou Line 95) Let’s cheer you up by getting that cake, huh? Ambrož happily glances at Oumou, gathering his belongings while also managing to graciously take Oumou’s hand. Ambrož speaks shyly. Ambrož Line 96) It would cheer me up if I could pay for the cake… Oumou speaks in a playful manner. Oumou Line 97) You’re not wiggling your way out of that one, mister! Ambrož and Oumou make their way to the bakery in the mall, to get him a cake for his birthday. Ambrož’s narration: Line 98) If Oumou hadn’t been by my side that day, I would’ve felt absolutely crushed by Přemysl’s rejection. Line 99) But she was there. And the fact that she was made everything seem alright. Line 100) Ever since that day, I stopped calling Přemysl. Line 101) If he ever makes his mind up, I’m willing to welcome him back in with open arms, but since it seems like that won’t be happening, for now, I’ve stopped trying. Line 102) I’m not necessarily giving up, but just feel done getting my hopes up. What will happen, will happen. Line 103) My number one priority is Oumou. Line 104) She’s the only one by my side right now, and I will do whatever it takes for us to continue our relationship. Line 105) When we got home that day, the both of us decorated our places together, each entering and exiting through our doors to help out with Christmas decor. Line 106) It makes me so happy to have her by my side, filling my days with special moments. Line 107) When it got to putting up the star on the tree, I helped give her a boost to do so. Line 119) I abruptly embraced her into a hug, holding onto her tightly in appreciation. Line 120) We held onto each other for a while, savoring the intimacy.
