The day is November 26th, 2004. It's a Friday morning. She peers her eyes open in exhaustion, rubbing them restlessly. She sits up on the couch, stretching her body and releasing a big yawn. She then gets hit with the realization that she’s not in her place. She glances around in confusion, recollecting the events from last night on how she fell asleep at Ambrož’s place. She quickly tidies up the couch and folds the blanket he covered her with last night, smiling at his consideration. She quietly makes her way over to his door, opening the lock to exit. Ambrož sets foot into the living room, wide awake and all ready for the day, checking up on Oumou. He notices Oumou by the door, and she shyly glances back at him, feeling busted for some reason. She speaks in an awkward tone. Oumou Line 1) U-Uh, hey, there… Ambrož speaks in a welcoming manner, smiling at Oumou cheerfully. Ambrož Line 2) ‘Morning! How’d you sleep? Oumou speaks timidly. Oumou Line 3) D-Definitely well. I completely passed out last night. Oumou freaks out on the inside. Line 4) Oumou’s inner thoughts: I can’t believe I fell asleep without doing my nightly routine. My makeup is most definitely clogging my pores. I feel so icky. Ambrož speaks happily. Ambrož Line 5) Glad to hear it! I really enjoyed yesterday with you! Oumou speaks mutually, bashfully glancing at Ambrož. Oumou Line 6) I enjoyed yesterday with you, too. Sorry for crashing at your place last night. I don’t usually get knocked out like that. I must’ve been really tired for some reason. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring manner. Ambrož Line 7) Don’t sweat it. It was comforting knowing you were in the other room, all cozied up on the couch. Oumou blushes, feeling embarrassed by Ambrož’s remark. Ambrož speaks suggestively. Ambrož Line 8) While you’re still here, why don’t we have breakfast together? Ambrož Line 9) Even though we have plenty of food left from last night's groceries, I feel like going out for some reason. Want to get brunch together? Oumou smiles at Ambrož cheerfully, speaking agreeably. Oumou Line 10) I could never say no to that. But do you mind if I wash up at my place first? Ambrož gets hit with the realization that Oumou would want to get herself situated before going out. He responds awkwardly, feeling embarrassed for not being thoughtful. Ambrož Line 11) O-Oh. Of course. Please take all the time you need. Sorry for not considering that. Oumou speaks in a playful manner. Oumou Line 12) Don’t sweat it. I’ll be back before you know it. Ambrož smiles at Oumou amusingly after she uses his words back at him. She exits his place, leading herself into hers to get ready for the day. Ambrož sits himself on his couch, glancing at his phone hesitantly. He presses his call app, scrolling down his contacts to find Přemysl’s number. He calls Přemysl, letting the phone ring and ring until he’s left to submit a voice message. Ambrož’s eyebrows furrow in disappointment. He speaks in a melancholic tone. Ambrož Line 13) Hey, Přemysl. It’s me Ambrož again… Ambrož Line 14) I hope you’re doing well, especially since the holidays are just around the corner. Ambrož Line 15) I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving. You were on my mind all day yesterday. Ambrož Line 16) Please give me a call back when you can. I miss you a bunch. Ambrož Line 17) Anyway, have a great rest of your week. I hope your fall break from school is going well. Ambrož ends the voice message, scrunching his hair in defeat. *Shot cuts to Přemysl at Theo’s* place, playing video games in his room, receiving Ambrož’s voice message after purposefully ignoring his call (Theo and Přemysl scheduled a hang-out together). *Remember that Theo is Přemysl’s occult club leader friend (refer back to episode 19, lines 75"87, and episode 23, lines 38, etc). *The both of them became really close to each other by hanging out at school and participating in their club. Theo speaks in a curious manner, noticing the irritated expression on Přemysl’s face. Theo Line 18) Who was that? Přemysl rolls his eyes, speaking dismissively as he continues playing a fighting game match with Theo. Přemysl Line 19) A nuisance… Theo glances at Přemysl puzzlingly. He beats Přemysl in the fighting game match, with Přemysl clicking his tongue in annoyance at the defeat. Theo glances at Přemysl attentively. Přemysl raises his eyebrows in annoyance, speaking in a snappy tone. Přemysl Line 20) I can feel your gaze piercing through me. What do you want? Theo speaks in a playful manner. Theo Line 21) I just find it odd how irritated you seem to be on such a lovely day. Přemysl speaks in a stubborn tone. Přemysl Line 22) Trust me. I have every right to react this way. Theo speaks in an informative manner. Theo Line 23) Whatever the reason may be, crankiness during the holiday season seems so off-putting. He playfully nudges Přemysl’s chest with his elbow. Theo Line 24) Aren’t you glad we have a 2-week break from school? We can finally relax and unwind. That's the stuff! Přemysl speaks in a tone of annoyance, not liking Theo’s nosey demeanor. Přemysl Line 25) Of course, I’m happy, but I still have other problems. Theo responds incomprehensibly, not understanding Přemysl's frustration. Theo Line 26) Jeez. Where’s your Thanksgiving spirit? Přemysl speaks in a snarky manner. Přemysl Line 27) It’s not even Thanksgiving anymore. Plus, the holiday isn't cupcakes and rainbows to begin with. Theo considers Přemysl’s point, speaking agreeably. Theo Line 28) Touché. At least today’s black Friday. Přemysl speaks in a tone of confusion. Přemysl Line 29) Yet, we’re at your house, playing video games. Are you planning to go shopping or something? Theo speaks passionately. Theo Line 30) Maybe. Anyway, I’m just trying to make a point that the holiday vibe is very cheerful and forgiving, yet you seem so bitter and resentful lately. Přemysl speaks in a sarcastic manner. Přemysl Line 31) Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Sherlock. Theo releases a chuckle, finding Přemysl’s attitude amusing. Theo speaks in a friendly tone of concern. Theo Line 32) What I’m trying to get at is that I’m worried about you. Přemysl timidly glances at Theo, not knowing how to respond to his sympathy. Theo speaks supportively. Theo Line 33) I won’t pry about your issues since that’s most definitely not my business, but I want you to know that I can lend you an ear if you need one because it seems like you could use a hand. Přemysl glances at Theo in guilt, feeling remorseful for projecting his frustration onto him. Theo speaks in a manner of consolation. Theo Line 34) If there’s anything I can do to cheer you up, let me know. Přemysl speaks in a shyly appreciative tone. Přemysl Line 35) So far, playing video games to burn off some steam has been helpful. Theo speaks in a manner of encouragement. Theo Line 36) Feel like going out? Let’s have a looky at some black Friday deals by hitting up a mall, huh? Přemysl speaks agreeably, his voice having notes of indifferenceness. Přemysl Line 37) Sure. I don’t mind. Give us a ride there. Theo speaks in a tone of determination. Theo Line 38) You got it! I know just the thing that’ll lift your spirits. *Shot cuts back to Ambrož’s place, with Oumou knocking on his door, all ready for their brunch get-together. Ambrož gets off the couch, diverting his attention onto Oumou after another unsuccessful phone call to reach Přemysl. He takes a deep breath in and out, putting on a happy face when he opens the door for Oumou, letting her in welcomingly. Oumou is wearing a beige sweater dress with thick denim jeans, beige knee-high boots, a plaid scarf, and the trench coat Ambrož gifted her. She gets inside his place, shivering from the cold temperature of the weather outside. Oumou examines Ambrož’s attire, noticing that it doesn’t match the weather. She speaks in a tone of worry. Oumou Line 39) You might want to layer up. It’s pretty chilly outside. Ambrož gets hit with the realization that asking to go out on a cold morning may seem intrusive to Oumou, especially since they're on Thanksgiving break, and maybe would prefer to relax and stay home instead. He speaks in an apologetic manner. Ambrož Line 40) Sorry for dragging you out here like this. We don’t have to go anywhere if that’s what you prefer. Oumou glances at Ambrož reassuringly, speaking in a tone of encouragement. Oumou Line 41) A little bit of cold doesn’t bother me. Besides, the idea excites me, so why should I back out? Ambrož happily smiles at Oumou, an expression of relief coming across his face from Oumou’s agreement. Oumou speaks in a manner of concern. Oumou Line 42) This may seem a bit off-topic, but for some reason, you always feel so cold to the touch*. *Since vampires' organs don't work, blood doesn't pump through their bodies; thus, they're cold to the touch (refer back to episode 2, line 73, etc, and episode 19, details in between lines 34 and 35). Oumou speaks in a detailed tone. Oumou Line 43) Anytime we make skin-to-skin contact, there’s an adamant temperature change that I feel. The expression on Oumou’s face showcases worry. Oumou Line 44) I’m just concerned if you’re sick by any chance. Could it be nerve damage or something like that? I can’t recall a time you felt warm. Oumou speaks in a conclusive manner, amusing Ambrož’s behavior in concern. Oumou Line 45) Maybe that’s why you’re dressed a bit light for the weather and or didn’t feel the cold breeze coming into your place when you let me in. Ambrož bittersweetly smiles at Oumou’s worry, feeling her consideration. He speaks in a reassuring tone. Ambrož Line 46) Thank you for looking out for me, but I assure you I’m fine. Ambrož Line 47) I’m just cold to the touch. I don’t have any sort of nerve damage. My bodily temperature isn’t detrimental to my health. It’s all good. A realization comes to Ambrož, leading him to contemplate his statement. Line 48) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I mean. It kind of is health-related. After all, my organs don’t function because I’m a vampire, which means I’ve already died, but I encompass my dead human body as a supernatural being, but we won’t get into that… Oumou speaks in a manner of relief. Oumou Line 49) That’s good to hear. I guess you really are just cold. Ambrož speaks in a playful tone. Ambrož Line 50) How cold do I feel? You’re making me think I feel like ice. Oumou speaks reassuringly. Oumou Line 51) Definitely not as cold as ice. I just sense a noticeable temperature change. Oumou speaks in a tone of curiosity. Oumou Line 52) Can you not tell yourself? Ambrož speaks in a flirtatious manner. Ambrož Line 53) I feel normal. When I’m with you, I feel warm~ Oumou blushes. She speaks flirtatiously back at Ambrož, feeling comfortable enough to communicate with him in such a manner. Oumou Line 54) In that case, don’t hesitate in contacting me if you need a bit of warmth. Oumou speaks in a charming tone. Oumou Line 55) But if you’re genuinely starting to feel chilly, just hold my hand. I promise that it's always warm. Oumou brings her hands out towards Ambrož. Ambrož releases a chuckle of joy, placing his hands on top of Oumou’s hands, letting the tender sensation of her warmth engulf him. He happily blushes, finding the feeling comforting. He speaks in a naughty manner, gazing into Oumou’s eyes flirtatiously. Ambrož Line 56) Am I allowed to hold your hand, even if I don’t feel chilly? Oumou shyly stares at Ambrož, trying her best to conceal her flustered demeanor. Oumou Line 57) O-Of course, you can. Don’t even ask for permission. Do it when it feels right. Ambrož responds agreeably. Ambrož Line 58) You got it! Oumou changes the topic, her intention to divert the flustering tension between her and Ambrož. She speaks in an inquisitive tone. Oumou Line 59) Anyway, do you know what brunch site we’ll be heading to? Ambrož speaks in a manner of excitement. Ambrož Line 60) Yes. There’s this one that’s only exclusively open for the holidays, so it probably has those cozy vibes attached. Does that sound good? Oumou matches Ambrož’s excitement. Oumou Line 61) Of course, it does! I’m excited for the holidays anyway, so this is perfect! Oumou and Ambrož drive to the brunch site, arriving swiftly. The both of them get seated at a table, looking through the menus on what to order. Oumou happily peers at Ambrož through her menu again*. *Remember that she did this when they went on their redemption dinner date (refer back to episode 30, details in between lines 20 and 21). He catches her gaze once again, joyfully glancing at her. Oumou speaks in a tone of delight, complimenting Ambrož’s efforts. Oumou Line 62) You know, I don’t think I’ve ever been taken to so many places by one person in my life. She speaks appreciatively. Oumou Line 63) Thank you for making me feel so special~ Ambrož speaks in a flirtatious manner. Ambrož Line 64) You deserve to feel special because you are special~ Oumou blushes, glancing at Ambrož flusteredly. A realization comes across her mind, prompting further conversation with Ambrož. Oumou Line 65) Isn’t it crazy how we only have a couple more days left till the end of the year? Ambrož speaks in a mutual tone, Oumou’s remark prompting realization for him as well. Ambrož Line 66) It is. Don’t you find it a bit sad that Christmas is always at the end of the year? Oumou pouts her lips, feeling bummed out from the awareness. Oumou Line 67) That is sad. When it comes around, there’s only a little under a week left till New Year’s. Oumou speaks in a sentimental manner. Oumou Line 68) I definitely look forward to this time of season, but it makes me sad when I realize that it always happens at the end of the year. Ambrož speaks inquisitively, attentively glancing at Oumou in interest. Ambrož Line 69) I feel the same way. Speaking of holidays, which one is your favorite? Oumou Line 70) This may sound a bit odd, but I really like the Fourth of July. Oumou explains herself in a passionate manner. Oumou Line 71) Stay with me. It’s not necessarily because I’m patriotic and am glad that America gained its independence. It’s more so the atmosphere of the holiday. Oumou speaks in a tone of enthusiasm. Oumou Line 72) I like how it’s in the summer, associated with fun fairs, and the fireworks are utterly beautiful, wouldn’t you say so? Ambrož speaks empathetically. Ambrož Line 73) They really are. I totally understand why it’s your favorite holiday. Oumou speaks in a hopeful manner. Oumou Line 74) Hopefully, we’ll be able to spend it together. I’d love to go to a fair with you and watch the fireworks. Ambrož blushes, finding Oumou’s remark flustering. Ambrož Line 75) I’d love that~ Oumou Line 76) I’m assuming that your favorite holiday is Christmas? Ambrož happily responds. Ambrož Line 77) That’s correct. Can’t help it. It just brings such fond nostalgia. A date idea comes across Oumou’s mind. She speaks in a charismatic manner. Oumou Line 78) It'd be fun to set up Christmas trees together. Seems like the perfect time to do so, too, right? Ambrož quickly considers the suggestion, his eyes sparking from the brilliant idea. He speaks enthusiastically. Ambrož Line 79) Now that you bring it up, that sounds like a great plan! Oumou speaks in a tone of encouragement. Oumou Line 80) Want to do it after brunch? Ambrož speaks in an agreeable manner. Ambrož Line 81) Sure! We’d definitely have to stop by the store to get decorations since I don’t have any, not even a tree. Oumou speaks reassuringly. Oumou Line 82) That’s not a problem! I’ll help you out! I love doing these kinds of things~ Ambrož speaks flirtatiously, giving Oumou a smug expression Ambrož Line 83) I’ll make sure to slip in some mistletoe~ Oumou blushes, speaking agreeably to match Ambrož’s playfulness. Oumou Line 84) I won’t bat an eye if you do~ Ambrož releases a gentle chuckle. A thought comes across Oumou’s mind, and she speaks in a tone of interest. Oumou Line 85) You know, all this holiday talk leads me to question when your birthday is. I don’t think I ever asked. That’s my bad. Oumou glances at Ambrož apologetically for not asking sooner when his birthday is. Ambrož glances at Oumou nervously. He tries his best to worm his way out of the conversation. Ambrož Line 86) O-Oh. That’s not a problem. When is your birthday? Oumou Line 87) Close to Christmas. It’s December 22nd. Ambrož Line 88) That’s nice. Double celebration, huh? Does your family usually do that for you? Oumou speaks in an explanatory tone. Oumou Line 89) Kind of. That doesn’t necessarily mean I get more presents. I guess I just get a cake, then a couple of days later it’s Christmas, and the presents will be supplemented. Ambrož speaks in a caring manner. Ambrož Line 90) That’s a bit unfair. You should get more presents since it’s your birthday. His voice switches into a tone of determination. Ambrož Line 91) I’ll make sure to do that for you. How does that sound? Oumou speaks insistently. Oumou Line 92) It’s not necessary. Don’t even feel obligated to get me a Christmas present. Your company is more than enough for me~ Ambrož dismisses Oumou’s suggestion, speaking in an unrelenting tone. Ambrož Line 93) Come on. It’s tradition. I can’t resist. Oumou speaks in a playful manner. Oumou Line 94) Fine. But don’t be shocked when my present is really extravagant. Ambrož speaks in a tone of amusement. Ambrož Line 95) Looking forward to it! Oumou speaks in a manner of determination. Oumou Line 96) Anyway, you didn’t answer my question. When’s your birthday? It’s important I note this down, Ambrož. I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world. Ambrož speaks dismissively. Ambrož Line 97) It doesn’t matter that much to me. Don’t worry about it. Oumou speaks inquisitively. Oumou Line 98) I insist. Give me the deets, please! Ambrož gives up, speaking in a manner of guilt. Ambrož Line 99) Fine, but it’s already passed. Ambrož Line 100) … It was this Tuesday, November 23rd. Oumou looks at Ambrož in shock. She speaks in a tone of defeat. Oumou Line 101) Why didn’t you tell me? Ambrož speaks in a manner of unease. Ambrož Line 102) It’s weird to proclaim it to you all boastfully. What were you going to do about it anyway? Oumou speaks in a tone of devotion. Oumou Line 103) Celebrate, duh! She switches into an ardent voice. Oumou Line 104) That’s it. I’m getting you a cake. No objections. Oumou Line 105) Let’s celebrate together today. Happy belated birthday~ End of episode.
