The next day rolls around with Ambrož waking up from hearing shuffling in the kitchen. He wakes up in a daze, feeling confused as to where he is. He gets hit with the realization of his location, with events from last night flooding his memory. Line 1) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Oh, right… I spent the night at Oumou’s. Line 2) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Based on how overwhelming yesterday was* I wonder what today will bring. *Refer back to episode 27, lines 82 and 83. Ambrož gets up from the couch, and Oumou notices he's awake. She speaks in a welcoming manner. Oumou Line 3) Good morning! Are you feeling well-rested? Ambrož smiles at Oumou, feeling reassured by her comforting energy. He speaks in an affectionate tone. Ambrož Line 4) Good morning. I am feeling well-rested, but that’s all thanks to you~ Oumou blushes from Ambrož’s remark, finding it comforting. Ambrož tidies up the couch, folding the sheets he slept with while talking with Oumou. He speaks in a considerate tone. Ambrož Line 5) How are you doing this morning? Oumou replies timidly. Oumou Line 6) I’m doing good because I have your company by my side~ Oumou Line 7) I get to look forward to spending the day with you~ Ambrož blushes, smirking giddily. He speaks in a curious manner. Ambrož Line 8) What are you up to right now? Oumou speaks enthusiastically. Oumou Line 9) I’m making breakfast for the both of us. Ambrož finishes tidying up the couch, making his way over to the kitchen to observe Oumou’s cooking. He speaks in an appreciative manner. Ambrož Line 10) Wow! This looks so good! What could it be? Oumou speaks in a tone of excitement. Oumou Line 11) It’s called Ndambe*. It’s a black-eyed pea stew made from lamb, tomatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, you know, all that good stuff. Oumou speaks in a nostalgic manner. Oumou Line 12) It’s a traditional Senegalain dish that my mother would make frequently when me and my brother* were kids. *Refer back to episode 12, line 87. Oumou Line 13) We’d usually eat it for dinner and then eat the leftovers for breakfast with a baguette. Oumou Line 14) But I was craving it this morning, so decided to make it. Hope you don’t mind. Ambrož speaks cheerfully. Ambrož Line 15) Of course not. It smells amazing~ Oumou speaks in a joyful manner, finding Ambrož’s support comforting. Oumou Line 16) It’s almost finished, so hang tight. Oumou Line 17) Have a seat. You can get ready for the day after you eat breakfast. Ambrož speaks in an appreciative tone. Ambrož Line 18) Thank you for looking out for me. Oumou speaks happily. Oumou Line 19) It’s the least I can do for a guest. Oumou finishes cooking the Ndambe, serving it on a baguette for her and Ambrož on their separate plates. She preps their coffee as well, placing everything on the table accordingly. Ambrož gratefully glances at the food. Line 20) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: She went out of her way to make this, so I feel bad for having to eat it when I should be consuming blood instead*. *Remember that vampires can ingest regular food, but it’s not the consumption source they need to intake for survival unlike blood (refer back to episode 6, line 73, and episode 15, line 90, etc). Line 21) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: But then again, it would be rude not to eat when she put in so much effort. We should enjoy this meal together~ Oumou sits in front of Ambrož, smiling at him wholesomely. She speaks in a joyful tone. Oumou Line 22) Dig in, mister! Bon appétit~ Ambrož takes a bite of the Ndambe, with his pupils dilating from its delicious taste. Ambrož Line 23) This is tasty! Oumou speaks in a thrilled manner. Oumou Line 24) I’m glad you like it! Ambrož Line 25) You’re a great cook! Oumou Line 26) I better be. My mother wouldn’t let me live alone if I didn’t know how to cook. Oumou speaks in a curious manner. Oumou Line 27) Do you know how to cook? Ambrož Line 28) Not as well as you can~ Oumou chuckles. Oumou Line 29) I can teach you how to make this sometime. Would you like that? Ambrož speaks in a tone of appreciation. Ambrož Line 30) That’d be great! Ambrož and Oumou eat the Ndambe together, finishing their breakfast. Oumou gets up, collecting both of their plates. Ambrož glances at Oumou in confusion. Ambrož Line 31) What’re you doing? Oumou speaks in a puzzling tone, wondering why Ambrož is questioning her. Oumou Line 32) Just collecting the dishes so that I can wash them. Ambrož speaks in a stern manner. Ambrož Line 33) Allow me. You’ve already done enough by cooking. Oumou speaks in an insistent tone. Oumou Line 34) You’re my guest, Ambrož. I couldn’t possibly let you wash the dishes. Ambrož speaks in a manner of determination. Ambrož Line 35) Too bad. I’m already set on doing them. Ambrož Line 36) It’s only fair this way. Oumou speaks in a suggestive tone. Oumou Line 37) You should do your morning routine instead. Ambrož speaks in an unrelenting manner. Ambrož Line 38) I can do that after I wash the dishes. Oumou gives in, letting Ambrož do the dishes. Oumou Line 39) Fine. If you insist. Ambrož speaks in a tone of satisfaction. Ambrož Line 40) Exactly. Just relax in the meantime. Ambrož grabs the dishes from Oumou, their hands gently grazing each other. He makes his way to the kitchen sink. Oumou trails behind Ambrož, propping herself on the counter beside him. Ambrož glances at Oumou in confusion, as she speaks in a tone of anticipation. Oumou Line 41) Let me relax with you~ I don’t want to do anything else. Ambrož smirks at Oumou, getting started on the dishes. Oumou speaks in a curious manner. Oumou Line 42) I’ve noticed that you haven’t worn your glasses all morning*. Can you still see properly without them? *Remember that Ambrož wears fake glasses for his identity in Detroit. He’s also been wearing them so far in his whole relationship with Oumou (refer back to episode 9, lines 13-20, etc). Ambrož realizes that he forgot to tell Oumou that his glasses are fake. He speaks in an apprehensive tone. Ambrož Line 43) About my glasses, they’re actually fake… Oumou looks at Ambrož in surprise. Ambrož speaks in an apologetic manner. Ambrož Line 44) I wore them for my fake identity. I must’ve forgotten to tell you. Sorry. Oumou speaks in a lenient tone. Oumou Line 45) That’s fine. So, you don’t actually need to wear them? Ambrož speaks in a manner of clarification. Ambrož Line 46) No. My vision is perfect, but the glasses provide UV protection, so they’re not entirely useless*. They just don’t have a prescription that enhances someone's vision. *Refer back to episode 9, line 18. Oumou speaks curiously. Oumou Line 47) I see… Will you continue wearing them? Ambrož Line 48) To be honest, I don’t mind having them on, and I’ve slightly gotten used to the feeling of them on my face. Ambrož speaks in an inquisitive tone, glancing at Oumou shyly. Ambrož Line 49) What do you prefer? Oumou blushes, getting a good look at Ambrož’s face. She speaks in a timid tone. Oumou Line 50) I-I think you look normal with or without glasses, so you decide whether or not you want to continue wearing them. Ambrož smirks at Oumou, feeling reassured. Oumou changes the topic, speaking in a sentimental manner. Oumou Line 51) Besides that, how are you feeling? Ambrož lets out a sigh, speaking in a somber tone. Ambrož Line 52) I’m enjoying your comfort, but I still feel empty on the inside because of the fight I had with my brother. Ambrož speaks in a tone of defeat. Ambrož Line 53) I just don’t know how to maneuver the aftermath. Ambrož Line 54) If this fight hadn’t occurred, my plan for tomorrow would be to take him to and from school as usual. Ambrož Line 55) I know he has other options, but it doesn’t feel right that I'm doing nothing. Ambrož Line 56) But if I do something, wouldn’t I be going against his wishes? Ambrož Line 57) He said he never wanted to see me ever again, so what more can I do? Ambrož Line 58) Or is he just saying that because he wants to see me again, and is testing whether or not I’ll go against his wishes? Ambrož furrows his eyebrows in distress. Ambrož Line 59) It’s all so complicated… Oumou pats Ambrož’s back consolingly, offering him a friendly smirk. Ambrož blushes from the gesture, feeling flustered. Oumou speaks in an apologetic manner, containing notes of comfort. Oumou Line 60) My apologies for the hardship. I wish you were at ease. Ambrož smiles at Oumou, appreciating her solace. He speaks in a curious tone. Ambrož Line 61) Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? Oumou lets out a sigh of indecision. She speaks in an uncertain manner. Oumou Line 62) That's a tough question to answer, but I’d say that for now, you should just keep your distance as your brother wishes.
Oumou Line 63) Let him have his space. I’m sure he’ll come around after he has some time to himself. Oumou speaks in a tone of encouragement. Oumou Line 64) But you should also give yourself time to process things. Oumou Line 65) Take your time adjusting. I know that’s easier said than done since you and your brother are close, but since things are the way they are, you just have to take it as it is. Oumou speaks in a manner of loss, feeling useless that she can’t offer better advice. Oumou Line 66) I’m sorry that I can’t say much else. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring tone. Ambrož speaks in a manner of remorse. Ambrož Line 69) I’m sorry that I tried to push you away when we established a bond together, going out and whatnot. Ambrož Line 70) You and I have just moved to a completely new state*. We could use each other’s company, right? *Remember that Ambrož and Oumou recently moved to Detroit, Michigan, at the time (refer back to episode 10, lines 16-23, etc). Oumou happily nods her head, speaking in a reassuring tone. Oumou Line 71) Don’t be sorry. I know you have your reasons. I’m just glad I was able to convince you. Ambrož speaks in an insecure manner. Ambrož Line 72) I’m sorry that you had to do so much for boring old me. Ambrož Line 73) You wouldn’t have had to put up so much of a fight for the right person. Oumou speaks in a defensive tone. Oumou Line 74) I disagree. When an opportunity comes your way, you have to seize it, which means giving your full effort. Oumou speaks passionately. Oumou Line 75) I believe that singing is right for me, but I have to do so much to chase my dreams, right? Oumou Line 76) For a while, I went about life thinking that the right things would make their way to me like a magnet. Oumou Line 77) I thought that whatever truly belonged to me would find me. Oumou Line 78) I would just do nothing and wait earnestly. Oumou Line 79) Then, I’d be shocked when nothing in return would come my way. Oumou speaks in a sentimental manner. Oumou Line 80) The truth is, you have to do something to expect something. Oumou Line 81) That’s when I decided to roll my sleeves up and do something about my passion for singing. Oumou speaks in a tender tone. Oumou Line 82) Eventually, I acted upon our relationship because I couldn't just let someone as amazing as you walk out of my life when we have so much potential together. Oumou Line 83) I wouldn’t say that I fought hard to have you by my side. All I did was show my devotion. Oumou speaks in a hopeful manner. Oumou Line 84) That was enough to win you back, so you surely must be the right person. She happily smiles at Ambrož. Ambrož speaks in a doubtful tone, nervously glancing at Oumou, feeling ashamed. Ambrož Line 85) I’m not sure about that, so don’t get your hopes up if I can’t fulfill your standards. Oumou speaks in a reassuring manner. Oumou Line 86) You’re already fulfilling them, though~ Ambrož speaks bashfully, his cheeks fading into a hue of pink. Ambrož Line 87) Well, alright, but I’m still a newbie at this*, so go easy on me. *Refer back to episode 10, line 66. Oumou speaks in a comforting tone. Oumou Line 88) Of course. This is my first relationship too, so don’t feel pressured. Oumou speaks sincerely. Oumou Line 89) Just be yourself. That’s more than enough for me~ Ambrož continues to blush, finishing up with washing the dishes. Ambrož Line 90) I’m all set. Oumou speaks in an appreciative manner. Oumou Line 91) Thank you for helping out. I really appreciate it! Ambrož Line 92) It’s my pleasure. Anyway, I’m going to do my routine now. Oumou speaks in a welcoming tone. Oumou Line 93) Of course. Take your time. The bathroom’s all free. Ambrož speaks smugly. Ambrož Line 94) Get ready for our date then~ Oumou speaks in a manner of confusion. Oumou Line 95) What? Now? Ambrož speaks in a tone of excitement. Ambrož Line 96) Yeah. Let’s head out. Oumou Line 103) You got it! Ambrož and Oumou go their separate ways, each of them getting ready for the day they’ll be spending together. Ambrož happily brushes his teeth, feeling excited about his day with Oumou. Line 104) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Let’s try not to think about Přemysl. I’ve done all that I could with that situation. Line 105) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I need to be as charming as possible for Oumou. Line 106) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I’m thrilled about what our relationship together so far has in store for us in the future. Line 107) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I want to know everything about her.
