Anything () is extra information. ____________________________________________________________ Episode 27: The day is October 23rd, 2004. It's a Saturday night. Ambrož makes it to Oumou’s place after his fight with Přemysl, hoping that she’ll welcome him in warmly since he’s in need of consolation after asking if he can stay the night. Oumou speaks in a taken-aback tone. Oumou Line 1) I-It’s certainly not too much trouble. You know you’re always welcome in. Oumou speaks in a curious manner. Oumou Line 2) But what brings you here? Especially at this time. Ambrož speaks in a tone of dejection. Ambrož Line 3) My brother kicked me out of the house… Oumou glances at Ambrož in shock, not expecting a predicament like that to unfold. Oumou Line 4) Your younger brother Orlin*? But why? *Oumou knows that Přemysl’s real name isn’t Orlin, but she’s continuing to address him as that for clarification (refer back to episode 22, lines 51 and 52, etc). Ambrož speaks in a manner of disappointment. Ambrož Line 5) I made him mad. Oumou speaks in a tone of understandment. Oumou Line 6) Seems like it’s a long story. Come on in and get yourself situated. Ambrož speaks timidly, feeling like he’s intruding on Oumou's night. Ambrož Line 7) I just swung by because I wanted to see you, but you don’t have to let me in if you’re uncomfortable. I could always get a hotel. Oumou speaks in a sympathetic manner. Oumou Line 8) It must be rough for you right now, though. Just stay with me in the meantime. I'll try my best to console you. Oumou blushes, speaking in a flustering tone. Oumou Line 9) Besides, I missed you. You left sooner than I anticipated earlier today, so I was left feeling a little lonely. I’m glad you’re back*. *Remember that Ambrož went to Oumou’s place earlier in the day to help her set up her recording booth, in which she struck up a conversation about them giving their relationship another shot (refer back to episode 24, line 44, etc). Ambrož blushes, not expecting for Oumou to say something like that to him. Ambrož returns to his car, lugging his belongings into Oumou’s place. The both of them get situated in the living room, having tea with each other. Oumou speaks in an inquisitive tone. Oumou Line 10) So, tell me. Why is your brother so mad at you to the point where he kicks you out of the house? Ambrož speaks in an apprehensive manner. Ambrož Line 11) Since it has to do with something I'm hiding from you, I can't tell you the full story, but to summarize, he's mad that I'm breaking an important rule he established that I comply with. Ambrož speaks in a tone of sorrow. Ambrož Line 12) My brother has intense trauma that has caused to be paranoid all his life. Ambrož Line 13) Because of that paranoia, he doesn’t want me getting close to people outside of our family because he’s afraid that I’ll get hurt. Ambrož Line 14) But since I’ve been dating you, I’m breaking his rule. Ambrož speaks in a manner of regret. Ambrož Line 15) I was lying to him, saying that I was dating you but not getting too close when that wasn’t true, to begin with, and he actually believed me. Ambrož Line 16) But then, when things got rocky between us and I started pushing you away, I told him that I’d put an end to things with you*, and he seemed really relieved. *Refer back to episode 21, lines 49-54. Ambrož Line 17) However, since we worked things out today, when I got home, I was honest with him, telling him that our relationship was back on track and that I would get close to you even if he were against that. Ambrož rubs his head in distress. Ambrož Line 18) That made him immensely upset, and he thinks that I’m disregarding his trauma by venturing out like this. Ambrož Line 19) So, he kicked me out, saying that he never wants to see me ever again*. *Refer back to episode 26, line 80. Ambrož speaks in a hopeless manner. Ambrož Line 20) My brother and I have gone through some very difficult times together, yet we’ve never gotten into a fight quite like this*. *Refer back to episode 26, lines 94-96. Ambrož Line 21) Remember how I mentioned that he’s not my biological brother*? *Refer back to episode 22, line 51. Oumou nods her head understandably. Ambrož Line 22) Despite not being related, we've always associated each other that way, but he told me he no longer wants to be my brother or be family*. *Refer back to episode 26, lines 63 and 64. Ambrož Line 23) I know that we’ve just freshly separated, but it really doesn’t seem like I can bounce back from this. Oumou speaks in an apologetic tone. Oumou Line 24) I’m so sorry, Ambrož. I had no idea you were going through this. Oumou speaks in a manner of guilt. Oumou Line 25) It honestly feels like my fault. Ambrož speaks insistently. Ambrož Line 26) Don’t blame yourself. I’m the one that made this decision. Ambrož Line 27) It was bound to happen one way or another, regardless of whether or not I’d be dating you. Oumou speaks in a manner of confusion. Oumou Line 28) It seems a bit strange that your brother has so much authority. Shouldn’t your parents have a say in this? Ambrož speaks in a tone of grief. Ambrož Line 29) I haven’t mentioned this to you yet, but my parents passed away a long time ago. Oumou’s eyes widen in despair. She speaks in a tone of heartache. Oumou Line 30) I’m so sorry. You have my most heartfelt condolences. Ambrož bittersweetly smiles at Oumou, speaking in an appreciative manner. Ambrož Line 31) Thank you. It means a lot. Oumou speaks in a tone of anguish. Oumou Line 32) I didn’t know you had it so rough, Ambrož. I’m sorry for not asking about this matter sooner. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring manner. Ambrož Line 33) Don’t be sorry. I’m the one who should’ve told you earlier. Oumou speaks timidly. Oumou Line 34) You seem like you could use a hug. Want one? Ambrož glances at Oumou in surprise. Oumou Line 35) It wouldn’t be the first time, right*? *Refer back to episode 14, lines 56, etc (this was after Ambrož helped Oumou assemble her furniture, in which she offered him a hug as thanks). Ambrož cheerfully smiles at Oumou. Oumou opens up her arms, welcoming Ambrož into an embrace. Ambrož leans into Oumou, wrapping his arms around her body affectionately. Oumou holds Ambrož back, gently embracing him into a warm hug. The both of them stay in their hug for a while. They pull back, looking at each other flusteredly. Ambrož speaks in an appreciative manner. Ambrož Line 36) Thanks. I really needed that. Oumou speaks in a tone of delight. Oumou Line 37) It’s my pleasure. Oumou Line 38) Off topic, but don’t worry about the date we planned out tomorrow*. *Refer back to episode 25, lines 64-71. Oumou speaks in a tone of consideration. Oumou Line 39) I don’t want that weighing on the back of your mind when you’re already dealing with so much. We could always reschedule. Oumou Line 40) Take it easy this weekend. Ambrož speaks in an affectionate manner. Ambrož Line 41) Let me take it easy with you, then. Ambrož speaks in a tone of determination. Ambrož Line 42) I want to take you out on that date. I made a promise, afterall. Oumou speaks in a manner of guilt. Oumou Line 43) Are you sure? Don’t feel obligated. I was only joking around with you earlier today*. *Refer back to episode 25, line 66. Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 44) I’m sure. You’ll help me take my mind off of things. I could really use that right now. Oumou smiles, speaking agreeably. Oumou Line 45) Alright then. Sounds good. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring tone. Ambrož Line 46) I promise to be out of your hair after that. I’ll find a place. Oumou speaks in a welcoming manner. Oumou Line 47) If you don’t have anywhere else to go, I don’t mind sharing my place with you. Ambrož looks at Oumou in shock. Ambrož Line 48) How could I possibly share a place with someone I’ve only known for a week? Ambrož speaks in a manner of confusion. Ambrož Line 49) And why are you so lenient? Don’t be so agreeable. Oumou speaks in a tone of consideration. Oumou Line 50) I just want to help you out. If you don’t feel comfortable living with me, don’t feel obligated. It was simply a suggestion. Ambrož blushes, speaking in a flustering manner. Ambrož Line 51) I don’t think that’ll be happening, but I’ll see after our date. Ambrož speaks in a tone of concern. Ambrož Line 52) Anyway, were you planning to head to sleep before I came? Oumou speaks in an enthusiastic tone. Oumou Line 53) It’s the weekend. There’s no way I’m going to bed early. These are the only days I can freely stay up. Ambrož speaks in a manner of curiosity. Ambrož Line 54) What were you doing before I came? Oumou Line 55) I was practicing on my keyboard*. *Remember that Oumou knows how to play the piano (refer back to episode 12, line 58). Ambrož speaks in a tone of excitement. Ambrož Line 56) That sounds fun~ Oumou speaks in a manner of exhilaration. Oumou Line 57) Yeah, it is! I was just brushing up on an original since I finally have the recording booth set up. Oumou speaks in a tone of determination. Oumou Line 58) I want to get on recording some songs*. It’s about time. *Refer back to episode 12, lines 65 and 66, and episode 24, line 62. Ambrož gets hit with a wave of realization. Ambrož Line 59) You mentioned that you bought the recording booth so that I would help you earlier today*... *Refer back to episode 24, lines 96 and 97. Ambrož speaks in a manner of concern. Ambrož Line 60) Were you able to buy it okay? Like, is it within your budget? Can you afford it? Oumou speaks in an uncertain and reassuring tone. Oumou Line 61) Um. It was a bit of a bad investment just because I was saving up until I could afford it without having to pull some strings. But it's fine. Oumou Line 62) I don’t regret it because now I can start recording my songs. I didn’t want to have to wait any longer. Ambrož speaks in a tone of guilt. Ambrož Line 63) I feel bad that you bought it so that I would come over. Let me chip in if the price is weighing on you. Oumou speaks in a reassuring manner. Oumou Line 64) This was my decision. Don’t take responsibility. I’ll handle it myself. Oumou Line 65) I wouldn’t have bought it if it would have completely thrown me off. I’ll manage. Don’t worry. Ambrož speaks in a welcoming tone. Ambrož Line 66) Alright. Don’t hesitate if you need help on anything like that, though. I’ve got you covered. Oumou speaks appreciatively. Oumou Line 67) Thanks for letting me lean on you. Ambrož speaks in a voice of gratitude. Ambrož Line 68) I should be the one thanking you for letting me lean on you. Ambrož speaks in a manner of relief. Ambrož Line 69) I’m glad that we were able to work things out. Oumou blushes, speaking affectionately. Oumou Line 70) I’m really glad too~ Ambrož shyly brings something up. Ambrož Line 71) Listen, remember how when I took you to that site earlier in the week, and we viewed the sunset*? *Refer back to episode 21, line 84. Oumou nods her head. Ambrož Line 72) You mentioned how seeing that site made you excited to travel around Michigan*… *Refer back to episode 21, lines 96-98, etc. Ambrož Line 73) Then you asked whether I wanted to explore with you, and I never responded because I mentioned that it didn’t feel right to proceed with our relationship afterward. Ambrož glances at Oumou flusteredly. Ambrož Line 74) I don’t know whether or not it’s too late to respond, but I’d like to explore Michigan with you if you don’t mind. Ambrož Line 75) Are you still onboard with that? Oumou speaks in a playful manner, glancing at Ambrož in a smug manner. Oumou Line 76) I don’t know. You made me really sad that day. Oumou Line 77) But then we made up, so I guess the idea is still afloat. Oumou speaks charismatically. Oumou Line 78) We’ll have a variety of places to go together. Doesn’t that sound fun? Ambrož speaks in a tone of excitement. Ambrož Line 79) Of course, it does. Oumou speaks in a definitive manner. Oumou Line 80) Then let’s do it! Ambrož speaks agreeably. Ambrož Line 81) Sounds like a plan! Oumou speaks in a tone of consideration. Oumou Line 82) It’s getting late. Are you feeling tired? You’ve had quite the overload today. Ambrož rubs his head in exhaustion. Ambrož Line 83) Yeah, you’re right. So much has happened today. I feel very disoriented. Oumou speaks suggestively. Oumou Line 84) Get some rest. Do you want to sleep in my bed? Or are you going to take the couch like last time*? *Refer back to episode 20, line 75 (this was when Ambrož stayed the night because Oumou wanted him by her side, dealing with her allergic reaction). Ambrož speaks in a stern manner. Ambrož Line 85) I’m obviously going to take the couch. Your bed is yours. Oumou Line 86) Fine. I’ll bring over some sheets. Ambrož speaks admirably. Ambrož Line 87) Thank you for letting me stay. Oumou speaks in a manner of delight. Oumou Line 88) It’s no problem. I like having you by my side~ Ambrož smiles with Oumou bringing over some sheets for him. She comes back, laying out bed sheets on the couch for Ambrož to get comfy. Oumou speaks suggestively. Oumou Line 89) Would you like to use my shower? Ambrož speaks in an insistent manner, feeling like a nuisance. Ambrož Line 90) That’s fine. I don’t want to be a hassle for you. Oumou speaks reassuringly. Oumou Line 91) You aren’t. I want you to completely unwind. Take a shower. It'll help you feel refreshed. Ambrož speaks uncomfortably. Ambrož Line 92) Something about it doesn’t feel right. Oumou speaks encouragingly. Oumou Line 93) I insist. Go on with your nightly routine as usual. Oumou leads Ambrož to her bathroom, offering him a fresh towel for his shower. She speaks in a welcoming manner. Oumou Line 94) Feel free to use whatever you like. There’s toothpaste on the counter for you to brush your teeth with. Oumou Line 95) Make yourself at home. I know my bathroom’s a bit small, but it does the job. Ambrož speaks in a thankful manner. Ambrož Line 96) Thank you, Oumou. It means a lot. Oumou replies in a friendly tone. Oumou Line 97) Your welcome~ I’ll leave you to it. Oumou exits out of the bathroom, letting Ambrož take his shower. While he showers, various thoughts flood his mind. Line 98) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: It feels weird knowing I have nowhere else to stay besides Oumou’s. Line 99) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: There was always this sense of comfort in knowing that I had a home, but now, I don’t even have a family. Line 100) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Who’s going to drive him to and from school? Line 101) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Who’ll be the one preparing meals for him? Line 102) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I know Přemysl can manage on his own, but it feels weird that I can’t take care of him. Ambrož’s eyebrows furrow in defeat. Line 103) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I really hope he’ll come around and forgive me. Line 104) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Don’t keep this grudge on me like that. Let’s make up, Přem. Please. Ambrož finishes his shower, exiting the bathroom, and making his way over to Oumou’s living room couch. He spots Oumou washing some dishes in the kitchen. Oumou notices Ambrož out of the shower. She speaks in a friendly manner. Oumou Line 105) Hey, was the shower okay? Ambrož speaks in a grateful tone. Ambrož Line 106) Of course. Thank you for letting me unwind. Oumou speaks in a manner of consideration. Oumou Line 107) That’s no problem. Being in the kitchen made me question whether or not you’ve eaten. Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 108) Don’t worry about me. I’m not hungry. Oumou speaks in a playful manner. Oumou Line 109) Well, if you happen to have a midnight, don’t hesitate. Ambrož smiles at Oumou. Ambrož Line 110) Thank you. Oumou speaks in a cordial tone. Oumou Line 111) Alright then. I’m glad to see you situated. I’ll leave you be. Have a good night, okay? Don’t wake up early tomorrow.
