Ambrož makes it home, ready to reveal the truth to Přemysl about his pursuits with Oumou, knowing it explicitly betrays their rules. He spots Přemysl resting on their living room couch, watching TV. He glances at Přemysl in remorse. Přemysl notices Ambrož enter, turning the TV off. He speaks in an upbeat manner, welcoming Ambrož home. Přemysl Line 1) Hey, you! How was the job interview? Ambrož speaks in an uncertain manner. Ambrož Line 2) I think I bombed it*. *Refer back to episode 24, line 36. Přemysl speaks in a tone of concern. Přemysl Line 3) Oh no. I’m so sorry to hear that. What went wrong? Ambrož speaks in a tone of worry. Ambrož Line 4) Something else was weighing on my mind*. *Refer back to episode 24, details in between lines 35 and 36. Přemysl speaks in a curious tone. Přemysl Line 5) What was it? Ambrož speaks hesitantly. Ambrož Line 6) I was thinking about Oumou… Přemysl speaks in an apologetic manner. Přemysl Line 7) Sorry. I know it must be rough to do job stuff after things fell through with her*. *Refer back to episode 21, lines 53-55. Ambrož speaks in an apprehensive tone, seating himself beside Přemysl on the couch. He takes in a deep breath before delving into their conversation. Ambrož Line 8) What if I told you they didn’t fall through? Přemysl glances at Ambrož in confusion. Přemysl Line 9) What do you mean? I thought you were set on putting an end to things with her*. *Refer back to episode 21, lines 49-52. Ambrož explains everything to Přemysl hesitantly. Ambrož Line 10) She called me earlier today just as I was about to head out to the interview after we hadn't talked for a few days. Ambrož Line 11) Remember how I mentioned she was thinking things through after the last time we saw each other*? *Refer back to episode 23, line 50. Ambrož speaks anxiously. Ambrož Line 12) She came to the yearnful conclusion that she is willing to be with me regardless of my lies, secrets, and the fact that I fed her my blood. Přemysl speaks in a manner of confusion. Přemysl Line 13) What are you talking about? When did she tell you that? Přemysl speaks in a tone of disconcertion upon further realization. Přemysl Line 14) Wait! You admitted to lying to her?! You also admitted that you fed her your blood?! Ambrož speaks in a manner of remorse. Ambrož Line 15) Yeah, I did. I confessed to the majority of everything earlier in the week. I just didn’t tell you about it. Then, after my interview, we met up. Přemysl speaks in a tone of betrayal. Přemysl Line 16) Why? Why did you keep that a secret from me? Ambrož rips the bandaid off. Ambrož Line 17) Admitting my wrongdoings to her will ultimately make us closer. Přemysl speaks furiously. Přemysl Line 18) And you know that you shouldn’t be getting close to humans, so why did you admit those things to her regardless?! Ambrož speaks in a direct manner. Ambrož Line 19) Why else? Because I want to be close with her. Přemysl speaks in a sarcastic tone, his irritation adamant. Přemysl Line 20) Okay! And I wish I could go to outer space, yet you don’t see me making fantastical efforts to pursue stupid dreams like that! Přemysl speaks in a manner of frustration. Přemysl Line 21) Why are you doing this, Ambrož?! Ambrož speaks sincerely. Ambrož Line 22) I can’t help it, Přem. I’m falling for her. Přemysl stands up from the couch in a rage, speaking bitterly. Přemysl Line 23) Give me a break! You don’t know what you’re talking about! He stands in front of Ambrož sternly, speaking in a hostile manner. Přemysl Line 24) You know good and well that we have blatantly set out our rule on not getting close to humans*, yet you’re breaking that rule after decades of obligement all for some girl?! *Refer back to episode 8, line 9, etc. Ambrož glances at Přemysl dismissively, feeling irritated that Přemysl disregarded his connection with Oumou. He speaks in a snappy tone, his eyebrows furrowing in madness. Ambrož Line 25) Yes, Přemysl. I’m breaking that rule because it finally dawned on me after all these years that I shouldn’t limit myself to the things I want to do just because I’m a vampire! Ambrož corrects Přemysl assertively. Ambrož Line 26) And Oumou isn't just “some girl”, she means a lot to me! Přemysl speaks in a manner of disbelief, scoffing at Ambrož’s behavior. Přemysl Line 27) You’re ridiculous! You’ve known her for less than a week and are practically planning your entire marriage with her already, you lovesick b*****d! Přemysl speaks in a snarky tone. Přemysl Line 28) I had the sneaking suspicion that you already felt like this from the start*! I should’ve known that you’d hopelessly fall in love! What a horrendous idea! *Refer back to episode 8, line 92, and episode 15, line 37. Přemysl speaks in a manner of disbelief, processing the situation with various questions spurring up in his mind from confusion. Přemysl Line 29) And what the hell is wrong with Oumou?! Who would continue being in a relationship with someone who knowingly fed their blood to someone without so much of an explanation to provide either?! Přemysl Line 30) Is she that desperate to the point where she disregards the lies and secrets you’ve stirred up for her?! Ambrož speaks in a defensive tone. Ambrož Line 31) Listen, I myself kind of don’t understand why she wants to be with me despite my wrongdoings, but her feelings are genuine. Ambrož Line 32) She thinks that the good things I’ve done outweigh the bad*. She’s willing to give me another chance to start fresh and make things right. She’s willing to forgive me, so let that be her own decision to make. Who am I to dictate the things she can or can't do? *Refer back to episode 23, lines 18 and 19. Přemysl speaks impatiently. Přemysl Line 33) Will she say the same thing when she finds out that you're nothing but a vampire? Ambrož speaks in a manner of offense. Ambrož Line 34) I’m more than just my curse. I was once human before, after all. I'm not the kind of vampire that they make me out to be in foolish legends. Přemysl speaks in a cranky tone. Přemysl Line 35) You're a mosquito! Ambrož raises his voice, feeling fed up by Přemysl's childish behavior. Ambrož Line 36) Tell me something I don’t know! Přemysl tries to gather his wits, mustering up the strength to gentle parent Ambrož. A moment of silence passes between them. Přemysl Line 37) … Listen, Ambrož. I somewhat appreciate your hopeful attitude that humanity will accept us for who we really are... Přemysl speaks in a tone of anguish. Přemysl Line 38) But if anyone has learned the hardest lesson about that shred of hope being nothing but a delusion, it’s me. Přemysl Line 39) Do you think that I thought that the neighborhood I spent my lovely childhood years in would stab my family in the back when they found out my brother was a vampire*? *Refer back to episode 5, line 88, and episode 11, line 47. Přemysl’s eyebrows furrow in sadness, his voice cracking as he explains everything to Ambrož. Přemysl Line 40) They were my community. My people. Yet, even they betrayed me. Přemysl’s lips quiver in agony. Přemysl Line 41) Do you know how awful it was to see the sorry sight of my family brutally massacred as an innocent child? Přemysl speaks in a tone of arrogance. Přemysl Line 42) Humans can’t be trusted and that’s final. Přemysl speaks in a manner of torment. Přemysl Line 43) They took away my precious family. There’s no way I’ll ever lend them a helping hand as a vampire after they made me into a monster. Přemysl Line 44) They owe me, which is why I’ll use them to get to the bottom of the cure by any means. Přemysl speaks scornfully. Přemysl Line 45) I don’t care if their feelings are in jeopardy. Other people never considered how I had felt all this time. I’m not gullible enough to have my heart swayed by a human like you. Ambrož speaks in an apprehensive manner. Ambrož Line 46) Přemysl. You say this, yet you trusted my parents. They were humans too. In fact, you encouraged me to tell them the truth once I became a vampire*. *Refer back to episode 4, line 39. Přemysl Line 47) That’s because they were your family, Ambrož. They were bound to find out one way or another. They were the only anomaly. Ambrož speaks in a hopeful tone. Ambrož Line 48) They let you into our family with open arms. People CAN be trusted. Your beliefs contradict your actions. Ambrož strikes a nerve within Přemysl, causing him to lose his composure. Přemysl Line 49) Oumou is not family, Ambrož! Are you willing to wager whether or not she’ll stab you in the back sooner or later?! Přemysl speaks bitterly. Přemysl Line 50) Like I mentioned, you’ve only known her for a week, yet, you're ready to throw everything away just to be with her! Přemysl speaks in a tone of betrayal. Přemysl Line 51) What about me? I’ve been your comrade for centuries. Přemysl Line 52) Am I hearing that you’re choosing her over me? Ambrož clicks his tongue in irritation, speaking in a manner of frustration. Ambrož Line 53) Why are you putting yourself against her? This is not a matter of who I choose because I’m willing to stand by both of your sides. Přemysl speaks stubbornly. Přemysl Line 54) No! You can’t stand at both of our sides! You can only choose one! Ambrož speaks in a manner of annoyance. Ambrož Line 55) Stop playing games! You can’t force me to choose! Přemysl speaks in a snappy tone. Přemysl Line 56) Then I’ll make the decision for you! Přemysl Line 57) If you stay with her, I’m out of the picture! Přemysl Line 58) Say goodbye to all our years together! I see how it is you throwing everything we’ve been through together away just for some girl! Ambrož speaks in a tone of betrayal. Ambrož Line 59) Přemysl. If you really loved me, you’d understand, and you’d stay by my side despite. You’re my brother for crying out loud! Přemysl speaks in a peevish manner. Přemysl Line 60) Let’s be real, Ambrož. I was never really your brother from the start. Přemysl Line 61) We’re not related. There’s not even a small percentage of that being a possibility. Ambrož in a dismissive tone. Ambrož Line 62) So what? We don’t have to be related for me to consider you as my brother. I’ve said that before*. You’re my family! *Refer back to episode 7, lines 56 and 57. Přemysl speaks in a sullen voice. Přemysl Line 63) Not anymore. Přemysl Line 64) I’m not going to be your brother after you throw everything we’ve been through out the window. Přemysl speaks in a tone of sorrow. Přemysl Line 65) Does my family’s massacre mean nothing to you? Přemysl Line 66) Do you know how it feels waking up every morning having the image of their dead bodies flood my mind? Přemysl Line 67) Not a day has gone by where I don’t think of them*. *Refer back to episode 6, line 10. Přemysl Line 68) Yet, you’re willing to throw my trauma away just because of some girl. Přemysl speaks in a manner of disbelief. Přemysl Line 69) How could you do something like this to me? Ambrož speaks in a deeply apologetic voice, his hands trembling in fear, thinking that Přemysl will abandon him. Ambrož Line 70) Přemysl, I truly am sorry for going behind your back, but let me make things right. Přemysl speaks in a tone of upsetting disappointment. Přemysl Line 71) How? You’ve already hurt me enough. Ambrož speaks in a manner of deep desperation. Ambrož Line 72) Let me show you that Oumou is different. Ambrož Line 73) She’s one of the good ones. She can be trusted. Ambrož Line 74) I know you don’t believe me right now because you’ve been through enough treachery, but I know she’ll accept us for who we are. Ambrož clarifies any misunderstandings frantically. Ambrož Line 75) I’m not throwing your trauma away because I like Oumou. I’m just saying that I know for certain she's a good person who can be counted on. Ambrož speaks in a manner of anguish, desperately hoping to convince Přemysl. Ambrož Line 76) You have every right to react this way, but just trust me. I can restore your faith. Ambrož Line 77) You’re still my brother, Přemysl. You’re my family. Don’t say all those things that you don’t really mean. Přemysl glances at Ambrož in betrayment. Ambrož stands up, gently placing his hands on Přemysl’s shoulder in a consoling manner. Ambrož Line 78) Please. Give me a chance to show you that humanity isn’t all that bad. Přemysl aggressively removes Ambrož’s hands, speaking in a cruel tone. Přemysl Line 79) It’s too late for you to prove anything. You’ve already lost my trust. Přemysl shouts at Ambrož sternly. Přemysl Line 80) Get lost! I don’t want to see your face ever again! Přemysl Line 81) Find out the hard way that Oumou is just like the rest of human scum. Přemysl Line 82) I’ll be praying for your downfall. Přemysl Line 83) And when you come crawling back to me after being proved wrong, I won’t even bat an eye at you. Přemysl Line 84) Leave this house immediately while I’m asking nicely. Přemysl storms out of the living room, making his way over to his room upstairs, slamming the door shut. Ambrož zones out in disbelief, trying to process what had just happened between him and Přemysl. Ambrož’s narration: Line 85) That was the day I got kicked out by Přemysl. Line 86) I tried my hardest to look on the bright side, hoping that Přemysl was going through an angsty phase, but he seemed very serious. Line 87) I didn’t want to poke a bear that would unleash their rage on me, so I obliged and really left, just the way he wanted me to. Line 88) As I packed all my belongings swiftly, tears accumulated in my eyes, dripping down my cheeks slowly. Line 89) Sure, from Přemysl’s stance it may seem like I threw everything we’ve been through out the window for Oumou… Line 90) But, in my eyes, it seems like Přemysl did that with me, disregarding everything we’ve been through and no longer even considering me as family. Line 91) After all we’ve been through, I never thought that we’d end things so abruptly just because of a disagreement. Line 92) Not only did I feel extremely misunderstood, but I also felt so empty after our fight. Line 93) All these years have been me and Přemysl glued at the hip. Line 94) We’ve gone through all kinds of hurdles, leaning on each other for support when needed. Line 95) But this… is something else. Line 96) It really feels like the end of us. Line 97) Will I ever be able to redeem myself to him? Line 98) Even if Oumou finds out the truth and decides to accept me as a vampire, what will that change with Přemysl? Line 99) So, I proved a point, but I still betrayed him nonetheless. Will he ever forgive me? Ambrož gathers all of his belongings, glancing at his somewhat empty room sadly, before exiting the house. He shows up at Oumou’s place, with her opening her apartment door in confusion. Ambrož offers her a melancholic smile. Ambrož Line 100) Hey, if it’s not too much trouble, can I stay here for the night? End of episode.
