Ambrož receives a call from Oumou, freezing in his stance from contemplation as he heads out for a job interview. Line 1) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Wouldn’t it be rude not to answer? Ambrož’s finger slowly reaches for the accept button on the call log when the call abruptly stops. He glances at his phone in disbelief. Line 2) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I guess it’s too late now. Ambrož’s body jolts when Oumou immediately calls back. He glances at his phone in contemplation. In a moment of hesitation, his finger reaches for the accept button. Line 3) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I should be pushing Oumou away*. Why am I gravitating towards accepting her call? That won’t do us any good. *Refer back to episode 23, line 51. Ambrož disregards his rationality. Line 4) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: … But it won’t do us any harm either, right? Ambrož accepts the call, swiftly placing his phone to his ear, eagerly awaiting Oumou’s voice. Oumou speaks in an apprehensive voice. Oumou Line 5) Hello? A flood of relief washes over Ambrož. His lips slightly curl into a smile upon hearing Oumou’s voice. Ambrož Line 6) Hello… Oumou speaks nervously. Oumou Line 7) Am I calling at a bad time? Ambrož speaks in an uncertain manner. Ambrož Line 8) Kind of. I’m headed out somewhere at the moment. But since you’ve already called, what do you have to say? Oumou speaks anxiously. Oumou Line 9) I promise won’t take up much of your time. Oumou speaks in a hesitant manner, biting her lip. Oumou Line 10) …I have honestly been anticipating for you to call me back. Ambrož eyebrows melt, feeling touched. Oumou Line 11) But it makes sense why you wouldn’t. After all, you discouraged me from reaching out ever again*. *Refer back to episode 23, line 29. Oumou speaks in an uneasy manner. Oumou Line 12) Yet, here I am, initiating a conversation with you first. Oumou speaks in a certain tone. Oumou Line 13) I’m not calling you because I want to forget you*... *Refer back to episode 23, lines 26 and 30. Oumou Line 14) Is there a way for both of us to meet up sometime soon? Ambrož speaks in a curious manner. Ambrož Line 15) May I ask why? Oumou speaks in a timid tone. Oumou Line 16) I want to say something to you. It’s best if I do it in person. Ambrož releases a sigh of devastation. He speaks in a melancholic manner. Ambrož Line 17) Listen, it would be best if you stopped trying to sway my decision about continuing this relationship. Ambrož speaks in a tone of remorse. Ambrož Line 18) You know where I stand. I don’t think anything will change my mind. Ambrož Line 19) Don’t go through all this effort for someone who isn’t worth it. A moment of silence passes between them. Ambrož Line 20) If that’s why you wanted to meet up, I’m immensely sorry that I can’t come. Ambrož Line 21) And, if that’s all you called to say, I’m going to hang up. Ambrož speaks in a manner of guilt. Ambrož Line 22) I’m so sorry, Oumou. Just stay away from me, please. Ambrož speaks sincerely, a bittersweet expression engulfing his face. Ambrož Line 23) I wish you all the best. Farewell. Oumou speaks in an abrupt tone. Oumou Line 24) T-That’s not what I called to say*. *She’s lying. Ambrož’s face flushes red in embarrassment. He smacks his head in frustration. Line 25) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I’m such an idiot! Of course, she’d be calling about something else! I sound so self-centered! Oumou speaks in a nervous manner. Oumou Line 26) Let’s just meet up, okay? It’s too complicated to explain over the phone. Ambrož swiftly agrees, feeling like he owes Oumou after misunderstanding her motives. Ambrož Line 27) F-Fine. Were you thinking of meeting up today? Oumou speaks in a tone of concern. Oumou Line 28) Only if you aren’t too busy. Ambrož speaks in an awkward voice. Ambrož Line 29) Um. Let’s meet up after I’m done then. Oumou’s voice displays notes of relief. Oumou Line 30) Okay. Where? Ambrož speaks in a manner of confusion. Ambrož Line 31) I don’t know. You think of a place. Oumou speaks apprehensively. Oumou Line 32) Can you come to my apartment? Ambrož’s eyes widen in shock, taken aback by Oumou’s suggestion. He replies in a wary voice. Ambrož Line 33) Sure… I’ll be there soon. Oumou speaks in a tone of solace. Oumou Line 34) O-Okay. I’ll see you then. The both of them end their call. Ambrož stares at his phone with uncertainty. Line 35) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: What could she possibly want to tell me in person that she can’t say through the phone? Ambrož drives to his interview, arriving on time. He goes about his interview nervously, having Oumou fill his mind. He walks out of the interviewing building, letting out a sigh of exhaustion. Thoughts of doubt engulf his mind. Line 36) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: They most certainly won’t be calling me back. Ambrož glances at the time on his phone in distress. Line 37) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I guess it’s time I head over to Oumou’s place. His eyebrows furrow in confusion. Line 38) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: I don’t know what to expect. Ambrož starts driving to Oumou’s place, having various thoughts flood his mind. He arrives at her apartment, hesitantly glancing at her front-door. He slowly gets out of his car, apprehensively approaching Oumou’s apartment entrance. He indecisively knocks on her door nervously. Oumou opens the door, letting Ambrož in awkwardly. Ambrož speaks in a clumsy manner. Ambrož Line 39) Uh. Hey, there. Oumou gauchely smiles at Ambrož, speaking in an uneasy tone. Oumou Line 40) Hey. Thank you for coming. Oumou Line 41) … Would you like anything to drink? Ambrož speaks in a direct manner, wanting the small talk between them to cease. Ambrož Line 42) No, thank you. A moment of silence passes between the both of them. They stand next to each other timidly. Ambrož speaks in a curious manner. Ambrož Line 43) … So, why did you bring me here? Oumou speaks hesitantly. Oumou Line 44) Um. If it’s not too much trouble, could you help me assemble something? Ambrož speaks in a compliant tone. Ambrož Line 45) What do you need me to do? Oumou leads Ambrož to her room, which has a huge box located in the center. Ambrož glances at the box in shock. He speaks in an inquisitive manner. Ambrož Line 46) What is that? Oumou speaks in a shy voice. Oumou Line 47) It’s a portable recording booth. Ambrož speaks in a tone of delight. Ambrož Line 48) Wow! They sell those kinds of things? Oumou coyly nods her head. Oumou Line 49) It was already heavily lugging it in all on my own, so I knew for certain I wouldn’t be able to assemble it on my own either. Oumou timorously shrivels her body language. Oumou Line 50) I suck at that kind of stuff. Remember*? *Refer back to episode 12, line 13. Oumou Line 51) But since you helped me before*, I hope it’s not too much trouble to help me again. *Refer back to episode 10, line 91. Ambrož speaks in a reassuring manner. Ambrož Line 52) Of course not. Oumou speaks in a tone of determination. Oumou Line 53) I won’t leave you on your own this time around. Let me chip in so that we can get this done faster together. Oumou speaks in an anxious voice. Oumou Line 54) Y-You’re the one who said, “Teamwork makes the dream work*.” *Refer back to episode 10, line 96. Ambrož awkwardly responds. Ambrož Line 55) O-Okay. Let’s get started then. Ambrož and Oumou get started assembling the recording booth, screwing in some screws for the frame of the structure. An awkward silence fills the tension in the room. Oumou speaks to break the uncomforting atmosphere. Oumou speaks in a yearnful manner. Oumou Line 56) So… how have you been? Ambrož glances at Oumou in confusion. Line 57) Ambrož’s inner thoughts: Why is she striking a conversation with me? Ambrož speaks in a disoriented voice. Ambrož Line 58) I-I’ve been fine. How about you? Oumou Line 59) I’ve been doing fine, too. Ambrož lets his curiosity get the best of him. Ambrož Line 60) What are you thinking of recording with this booth? Oumou speaks in a tone of excitement. Oumou Line 61) Just some songs for fun. I want to give it a go. Ambrož speaks in a toned down cheerful manner. Ambrož Line 62) Yeah. I remember how you mentioned you wanted to give recording an album a shot*. *Refer back to episode 12, lines 65 and 66. Oumou blushes from Ambrož’s remembrance. She tries to hide her flushed face. Line 63) Oumou’s inner thoughts: He remembered that? ♡ Ambrož speaks in a genuine manner. Ambrož Line 64) I wish you the best of luck. I hope everything works out the way you want it to. Oumou glances at Ambrož sadly, speaking in a somberly appreciative tone. Oumou Line 65) … Thank you. Ambrož speaks apprehensively. Ambrož Line 66) Do you have someone else to call if you need help next time? Oumou speaks in a tense manner. Oumou Line 67) Um. No. Just you. Ambrož speaks in a cautious tone. Ambrož Line 68) Don’t take this the wrong way, but try to find someone else next time, okay? Oumou speaks in an apologetic manner. Oumou Line 69) Yeah. I’m sorry if I intruded in on your plans. Ambrož speaks reassuringly. Ambrož Line 70) You didn't. But just have someone else. Ambrož speaks in a discouraging voice. Ambrož Line 71) We just shouldn’t be seeing each other like this. Ambrož speaks in an awkwardly suggestive tone. Ambrož Line 72) You could always hire a furniture assembler. I know that it sounds like I just made that job up, but workers like that exist. Ambrož continues to ramble, trying to divert the awkward tensions away from him and Oumou. Ambrož Line 73) Of course, the service wouldn’t be for free, but they get the job done. Ambrož Line 74) But, if you don’t feel like spending money on something like that, try figuring out this kind of thing yourself. Ambrož speaks encouragingly. Ambrož Line 75) I know you mentioned that you get frustrated when assembling furniture because it takes a lot of time, and the instructions can be hard to follow*, but it’s a valuable skill to obtain. *Refer back to episode 12, line 13. Ambrož Line 76) Once you get the hang of it, you won’t have to rely on others anymore. A realization dawns on Ambrož. Ambrož Line 77) By the way, why couldn’t you explain this over the phone*? *Refer back to line 26 of this episode. Oumou looks put on the spot, glancing over at Ambrož nervously, not knowing what to say. She thinks of a rash excuse off the top of her head, replying uncertainly. Oumou Line 78) U-Uh, because I was also busy earlier. I didn’t have time to explain, so I just told you to come, and that’s it. Oumou freaks out on the inside. Line 79) Oumou’s inner thoughts: That is most definitely not a convincing excuse. Ambrož glances at Oumou skeptically. Line 80) Ambrož’s inner thoughts:That’s most definitely an excuse, but let’s see where she goes with it. It’s rude to keep pressing. Ambrož speaks in an unconvinced tone. Ambrož Line 81) Oh, yeah. Gotcha. Oumou speaks apologetically. Oumou Line 82) Sorry, I should’ve been more specific. Ambrož speaks awkwardly and reassuringly. Ambrož Line 83) That’s okay. Everything worked out in the end, didn’t it? Oumou nods her head, offering Ambrož a timid smile. She continues speaking with him, her worry adamant in her voice. Oumou Line 84) So, uh, what have you been up to? Ambrož speaks in a vague manner. Ambrož Line 85) Some things. What about you? Oumou Line 86) Just the usual. Work and whatnot. Ambrož speaks in a tone of concern. Ambrož Line 87) Has everything been running smoothly at work? Oumou Line 88) Yes, thankfully. Ambrož’s face engulfs an expression of toned down relief. He speaks in a curious manner. Ambrož Line 89) Do you have any plans for the weekend? Oumou Line 90) Nothing in particular. You? Ambrož speaks in a mutual tone. Ambrož Line 91) Nothing in particular, either. A couple of hours go by, and Ambrož and Oumou fully finish assembling the recording booth. After the both of them successfully assemble her booth, Oumou looks at it cheerfully, feeling satisfied. Ambrož happily observes Oumou’s reaction from afar. Oumou speaks in an appreciative tone. Oumou Line 92) This is amazing! Thank you for helping me! Ambrož speaks in a nonchalant manner. Ambrož Line 93) It’s no problem. You’re welcome. Oumou speaks in an insistent tone. Oumou Line 94) Is there anything I can do to repay you? Ambrož speaks dismissively. Ambrož Line 95) I don’t need anything. A moment of silence passes between them. Oumou fesses up to her true intentions, feeling like this gathering is coming to a close. She speaks in a timid tone. Oumou Line 96) The reason I called you over today wasn’t to assemble the recording booth… Oumou Line 97) I just used this as an excuse for you to come over. I rashly bought it with the money I was saving so that you could help me. Oumou Line 98) That was after our phone call, which is why I didn’t mention it earlier. I wasn’t really busy like I said*. That was a lie. *Refer back to lines 77-78 of this episode. Oumou speaks in an apologetic manner. Oumou Line 99) I knew that if I told you the real reason why I wanted you to visit you wouldn’t come.
