Episode 97:

The day is June 16th 2024. It’s a Sunday.

Sotsona arrives at Casimir’s place after the designing session and after encountering her mother.

Casimir greets her by the door.

Casimir

Line 1) Hey. Mom and Celestyn told me you were going to be coming back home late*.

*Refer back to episode 96, line 34.

Casimir speaks in a curious and concerned tone.

Casimir

Line 2) What were you up to? Celestyn told me that you looked shaken up*. Is everything okay?

*Refer back to episode, line 37.

Casimir

Line 3) By the way, how was the session? Are you happy with what the tailor designed for you?

Sotsona looks at Casimir upsettingly.

Casimir notices her demeanor.

He speaks in a tone of worry.

Casimir

Line 4) What happened?

Casimir leans in to hug Sotsona.

They hug each other tightly.

Sotsona engulfs Casimir’s scent, burying her face onto his shoulder.

Casimir holds her in his arms affectionately, sensing her heavy presence.

He speaks in an apologetic manner.

Casimir

Line 5) Take it easy. I’m sorry for bombarding you with so many questions.

Some time goes by while Casimir consoles Sotsona.

They hug each other on the couch, with Casimir comforting Sotsona in his embrace.

Sotsona speaks in a somber tone.

Sotsona

Line 6) I saw my mother, Imir.

Casimir’s eyes widen in shock.

Line 7) Casimir’s inner thoughts: That explains her mood.

Casimir speaks in an sympathetic manner.

Casimir

Line 8) I’m sorry you had to see her.

Casimir

Line 9) How did it happen?

Sotsona speaks miserably.

Sotsona

Line 10) Unintentionally. We just ran into each other on the streets.

Sotsona

Line 11) I contemplated turning a blind eye.

Sotsona

Line 12) I just froze. I think I freaked your mother and sister out.

Sotsona

Line 13) They’re probably severely confused as to who that lady is.

Casimir

Line 14) Did you speaks to her?

Sotsona tries to process the situation, continuing to feel confused by it.

Sotsona

Line 15) Yeah. She was questioning everything. But it was so different this time around.

Sotsona

Line 16) I thought that she’d be hostile*, but she was just sad. Extremely sad.

*Refer back to episode 96, line 92.

Sotsona

Line 17) She hugged me out in the open and started sobbing.

Sotsona speaks in a wistful tone.

Sotsona

Line 18) A part of me felt bad…

Sotsona

Line 19) But I was also felt embarrassed.

Sotsona

Line 20) People were staring and walking around us because she made a scene*.

Sotsona rubs her head in distress.

Sotsona

Line 21) That made me feel so pathetic.

Sotsona

Line 22) And so isolated at the same time.

Sotsona

Line 23) Like, I’m the only one going through something like this.

Sotsona

Line 24) They didn’t have to say anything…

Sotsona

Line 25) I could tell they were judging me with their eyes.

Sotsona

Line 26) So we moved somewhere more private…

Sotsona

Line 27) And she continued to cry.

Sotsona speaks in a shameful manner.

Sotsona

Line 28) I don’t think I’ve ever seen her cry that heavily before.

Sotsona

Line 29) It didn’t seem like an act either. It seemed genuine*.

Sotsona

Line 30) I was blunt and asked her what she wanted from me straightforwardly.

Sotsona

Line 31) She said that my father and her were looking for me everywhere.

Sotsona

Line 32) They tried to reach my number multiple times, but since I deleted their contacts and blocked their numbers, they got no response.

Sotsona

Line 33) She said that they’ve been really worried as to what I’ve been up to.

Sotsona

Line 34) And then she started asking me where I had been all these months, and I couldn’t answer her.

Sotsona speaks in a guilty manner.

Sotsona

Line 35) It wasn’t the right time or place to get into all of that.

Sotsona

Line 36) Before I left, she begged for me to give her a call.

Sotsona

Line 37) She seemed so relieved when I agreed to get her contact information.

A pitiful expression etches onto Sotsona’s face.

Sotsona

Line 38) I actually felt horrible.

Sotsona

Line 39) And then I just walked away.

Sotsona

Line 40) She said she’d await my call, and those were our last words.

Casimir rubs Sotsona’s shoulders and back, trying his best to console her.

Casimir speaks in a deeply apologetic manner.

Casimir

Line 41) I’m so sorry, Ona.

Sotsona speaks in a manner of remorse.

Sotsona

Line 42) Why do I feel so bad?

Sotsona

Line 43) Like, I’m the villain in all of this?

Sotsona

Line 44) When I told her that it seemed like she never cared about me, she was shocked*.

*Refer back to episode 96, line 75.

Sotsona mocks her mother, feeling immensely frustrated.

Sotsona

Line 45) According to her and my father, they apparently care about me “no matter what.”

Sotsona speaks in a manner of disbelief.

Sotsona

Line 46) But how can she say that?

Sotsona speaks in a bitter tone.

Sotsona

Line 47) When I lived with them they were the worst!

Sotsona

Line 48) Neither of them paid any attention to me nor asked me how I was doing.

Sotsona

Line 49) They were also very strict, so I rarely got to leave the house.

Sotsona

Line 50) I was so lonely, and was treated utterly terribly.

Sotsona

Line 51) All they cared about was the money I brought home.

Sotsona

Line 52) Remember by bank account fiasco?

Sotsona

Line 53) Everything I worked for was easily able to be taken away from me because it was a joint account that they had guardianship over. They never let me keep my card in hand*.

*Refer back to episode 17, lines 45, 47, 95.

Sotsona

Line 54) Despite the fact that they ended up doing nothing, I shouldn't have been on edge to think that they would steal all my money*.

*For more information on the bank account situation, refer back to episode 27, details starting on line 8, etc. (the situation was eventually settled and Sotsona was able to get all her money back; however, it was not explicitly written in the story).

Sotsona

Line 55) And now, suddenly, they care about me?

Sostona speaks in a dismissive manner.

Sotsona

Line 56) That’s a lie!

Sotsona

Line 57) They never once showed me that I was valuable to them.

Sotsona

Line 58) But they care about me to the point where they searched everywhere just to find me?

Sotsona

Line 59) What the heck am I supposed to do with that information?

Casimir hugs Sotsona, trying to calm her down.

Sotsona takes deep breaths, trying to gather her witts.

Sotsona speaks in a guilty manner.

Sotsona

Line 60) Maybe I shouldn’t have left so abruptly.

Sotsona

Line 61) I shouldn’t have deleted their numbers.

Sotsona

Line 62) We could've talked things out, but I wanted nothing to do with them.

Casimir chines into the conversation when Sotsona starts blaming herself.

He looks into her eyes in a serious manner.

He speaks in a passionate tone.

Casimir

Line 63) None of that is your fault, Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 64) They realized what they lost once you left.

Casimir

Line 65) If they’re showing this much desperation, that means they’ve learned their lesson.

Casimir

Line 66) They got their karma.

Sotsona

Line 67) I never intended to hurt them, though. I just wanted nothing to do with them.

Sotsona

Line 68) But, seeing mom today, didn’t make me feel good at all.

Sotsona rubs her temples, feeling stressed out.

Sotsona

Line 69) I feel horrendous.

Casimir speaks in a reassuring tone.

Casimir

Line 70) You did nothing wrong.

Sotsona speaks desperately.

Sotsona

Line 71) What am I supposed to do now?

Casimir speaks in a suggestive manner.

Casimir

Line 72) Take it easy by focusing on yourself for now.

Casimir

Line 73) Take all the time you need to be certain before talking with them.

Casimir

Line 74) Then you can clarify all that you need to with them.

Casimir

Line 75) We’ll see what happens then.

Sotsona speaks in a manner of disbelief.

Sotsona

Line 76) Has it really only been around 4 months?

Sotsona

Line 77) So much has happened in such little time.

Sotsona

Line 78) How will I tell them that I’m getting married?

Casimir looks at Sotsona in confusion.

Casimir

Line 79) What do you mean? You’ll just tell them.

Sotsona

Line 80) How will I tell them that I’m getting married to a guy that I’ve only known for 4 months?

Casimir releases his embrace from Sotsona, speaking in an offended manner.

Casimir

Line 81) So, I’m just a guy you’ve known for 4 months?

Sotsona speaks in a blunt tone.

Sotsona

Line 82) Let’s not sugar coat it. That’s the truth, isn’t it?

Casimir looks at Sotsona upsettingly.

He speaks in a betrayed tone.

Casimir

Line 83) What do mean? I’m so much more than that.

Casimir

Line 84) We’ve been living with each other for around 4 months…

Casimir

Line 85) We went on vacation together to Palau and got over our fears…

Casimir

Line 86) We opened up about our truth to each other…

Casimir

Line 87) We fell in love with each other…

Casimir

Line 88) Sure, I’ll admit, all of that happened pretty quickly, considering it’s only been 4 months.

Casimir

Line 89) But why does time matter when we know that what we feel for each other is true?

Casimir

Line 90) You told me yourself that you once felt doubtful about our marriage, but now you feel certain about going through with it*.

Casimir

Line 91) Are you starting to feel doubtful again? Is that why mentioning you getting married to your parents feels weird?

Sotsona speaks in an iffy tone.

Sotsona

Line 92) It’s not that it feels weird. It just puts everything into perspective.

Sotsona

Line 93) We haven’t known each other for that long.

Casimir speaks in a manner of concern.

Casimir

Line 94) So what? Why does that matter?

Sotsona

Line 95) I’m just saying that when you really think about it, everything happened way too quickly.

Casimir

Line 96) What are you trying to say, though?

Sotsona

Line 97) What I’m trying to get at is that if I mention this to my parents, I feel like they won’t approve, no matter how much they’ve lightened up with me since I left.

Casimir speaks in a skeptical manner, feeling offended by Sotsona’s remarks.

Casimir

Line 98) And if they don’t approve, what are you going to do?

Sotsona

Line 99) They’re not allowed to dictate my life.

Sotsona

Line 100) But, if they don’t approve, I don’t blame them for feeling that way either.

Casimir looks at Sotsona in shock, feeling betrayed.

Casimir

Line 101) What I’m getting at is that you don’t approve of our marriage either, huh?

Sotsona

Line 102) I approve of it. I just can understand where they’re coming from if they say that they don’t.

Sotsona speaks in a concerned manner.

Sotsona

Line 103) About what you mentioned about me feeling doubtful again*, I think you’re right. My uncertainty is back.

*Refer back to line 91 of this episode.

Casimir tries to calm himself down.

Line 104) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Right. We’re talking about Sotsona right now. I shouldn’t make this about myself.

Line 105) Casimir’s inner thoughts: She’s just shaken up from seeing her mother.

Line 106) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I’m sure millions of thoughts are running through her mind right now.

Line 107) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I know she wants to go through with the marriage.

Line 108) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I just hope that she doesn’t let what her parents think sway anything she’s already promised to me.

Line 109) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I don’t want to lose Sotsona. 

Line 110) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I must do everything to keep her by my side.

 Casimir hugs Sotsona, continuing to console her.

Casimir speaks in an apologetic manner.

Casimir

Line 111) I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you earlier.

Casimir

Line 112) I’m sorry that your doubts are back too.

Casimir

Line 113) It’ll take some time to process everything.

Casimir

Line 114) But I’m always here for you.

Sotsona snuggles into Casimir’s chest, feeling relieved by his words.
