As he walks a woman approaches him. He recognizes her face as being the front-desk lady. Marvin Line 1) H-Hey. I think I know you. Lady Line 2) What are you friends doing in this timeline? Lady Line 3) I came here to warn you that if you all don’t leave soon. Lady Line 4) Something terrible will happen to the world. So, wrap things up. You have until the sunsets on Saturday. The lady walks away. Marvin tries to stop her. Marvin Line 5) H-Hey. Stop! He looks behind her and the lady is already gone. He is dumbfounded finding her here. Marvin’s narration: Line 6) If she came to this time to give me this warning. Line 7) That means Calista and I have to wrap things up soon. Line 8) I need to talk to my father STAT, so that I can return home. He makes it to his dad’s place. He knocks on his dads door, and surprisingly he’s the one to answer. Marvin’s dad is shocked to see him. Marvin’s dad Line 9) M-Marvin? You really came? Marvin looks upset. Marvin Line 10) Dad. I need your help. Marvin Line 11) I don’t know who else to turn to about this. Marvin’s dad Line 12) Hey, hey. It’s gonna be okay. I’m gonna help you out. Marvin’s dad Line 13) Come on in. Make yourself at home. Marvin’s dad welcomes Marvin into his home. He pours him a glass of water and passes it to him. Marvin’s dad Line 14) Here. Drink up just to balance yourself a bit. Marvin takes the water and drinks. Marvin looks around to see the whole house empty and quiet. Marvin Line 15) Where is everyone today? Marvin’s dad Line 16) I gave them some time off. Marvin’s dad Line 17) They work really hard, so I felt like I owed them. Marvin Line 18) So, are you suddenly just becoming a nice person now? Marvin Line 19) You used to keep them on their toes. Marvin’s dad Line 20) I realized that was the problem and they could use a break. Marvin Line 21) Well at least you finally realized some stuff. A moment of silence passes between them. Marvin’s dad Line 22) So, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about? Marvin’s dad Line 23) You seemed distressed when you came here. Marvin’s dad Line 24) You were asking for help saying you had no one to turn to. Marvin’s dad Line 25) So, what’s wrong? I’m worried about you. Marvins sighs and rubs his temples. Marvin Line 26) Me and Calista are dating each other but… Marvin Line 27) Only for temporary reasons. Marvin’s dad is shocked. Marvin puts his face into his hands. Marvin’s dad Line 28) W-What? W-What does that mean? Marvin looks up at his dad in tears. Marvin’s dad looks sympathetic. Marvin’s dad Line 29) Oh, Marvin. What’s going on, son? Marvin Line 30) There’s nothing we can do. Marvin Line 31) No matter what we do, we can’t stay together. Marvin’s dad Line 32) But why? What’s going on? Line 33) Marvin: I can’t tell him the full story. Line 34) Marvin: Either way, he won’t believe me. Marvin Line 35) Calista has to leave me. Marvin’s dad Line 36) Why? W-Where is she going? Marvin Line 37) She’s moving away. Forever. Marvin’s dad Line 38) T-That can’t be. Forever? Marvin Line 39) Truth is. I always knew this. Even before we got together. Marvin Line 40) But, it was too late when I realized I was in love with her. Marvin Line 41) And now that the time has come for her to leave. A-And I don’t know what to do with myself. Marvin’s dad Line 42) Why does she have to leave forever? Marvin Line 43) Because she doesn’t belong here. Marvin’s dad Line 44) Is she like an illegal immigrant or something? Line 45) Marvin: That’s the only excuse that could substitute what’s actually going on. Marvin Line 46) Yeah, and there’s nothing she can do to stay here. Marvin Line 47) She has to go back no matter what. Marvin’s dad thinks for a while. Marvin’s dad Line 48) I think I could work something out with someone I know. Marvin’s dad Line 49) A way for her to stay here forever. Marvin’s dad Line 50) Give me twenty days. I’ll work something out. Marvin’s dad Line 51) If we need to hide her somewhere, I know a place. Marvin is caught so off guard that he bursts into laughter. Marvin’s dad is confused. Marvin’s dad Line 52) M-Marvin? A-Are you okay? Marvin Line 53) That’s not gonna work. Marvin Line 54) If only it was that simple. Marvin’s dad Line 55) Oh, it will work. Trust me. Marvin Line 56) She can’t stay no matter what. Everything she left is waiting for her. Marvin’s dad Line 57) We can move everything waiting for her here. That’s no problem. Marvin Line 58) We can’t. It’s not something you can handle just like that. Marvin’s dad Line 59) So, it’s like that, huh? Marvin nods his head. Marvin’s dad Line 60) So, Calista’s made up her mind about leaving? Marvin nods his head. Marvin’s dad Line 61) Why did you guys go this far, if you knew what circumstances you guys were dealing with? Marvin shrugs. Marvin Line 62) We can’t seem to let each other go, now that we’re in love. Marvin’s dad sighs. Marvin’s dad Line 63) I’m really sorry to hear that. Marvin’s dad Line 64) But, there’s no point in dwelling on the things you guys could and could not do. Marvin’s dad Line 65) If it happened. Then it is what it is. Marvin’s dad Line 66) You guys are just going to have to be prepared to break things off. Marvin’s dad pats Marvin on the shoulder. Marvin’s dad Line 67) It’ll be hard for both of you guys. Marvin’s dad Line 68) You seem to really love each other. Marvin nods his head upsettingly and covers his face with his hands again. Marvin’s dad Line 69) What about you? Marvin Line 70) What about me? Marvin’s dad Line 71) You said you were going to move anyways. Marvin’s dad Line 72) So, why not move somewhere where you can be with Calista? Wouldn’t that be easier? Marvin Line 73) I’ve thought of every solution, but there’s nothing we can do about it. Marvin Line 74) I can’t give up my friends, my sister, my mother. Marvin Line 75) … You… And this timeline. Marvin’s dad Line 76) This timeline? What are you talking about? Marvin’s dad just realizes Marvin included him. Marvin’s dad Line 77) Wait. Did you just include me? Marvin Line 78) Don’t be so boastful. Marvin’s dad Line 79) Anyways, this isn’t about me. Marvin’s dad Line 80) If the both of you can’t give up everything to be with each other. Marvin’s dad Line 81) The relationship will just have to come to an end. Marvin Line 82) Don’t get the wrong idea. Marvin Line 83) If the circumstances were different, I’d give up anything to be with Calista. Line 84) Marvin: If these were the circumstances in real life, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Moving is no problem for me. Line 85) Marvin: But, this is lifetimes we’re talking about. Marvin’s dad Line 86) I’m not doubting you. Stuff like this is not easy to decide. Marvin’s dad Line 87) I just hope the both of you will end it on good terms. Marvin’s dad Line 88) You could always visit her, I guess. Marvin’s dad Line 89) Stay in touch by calling her. Marvin’s dad Line 90) But, that still won’t be enough to keep the two of you together if you don’t live in the same place. Marvin’s dad Line 91) And by that time, I’m sure you’ll move on from each other. Line 92) Marvin: I don’t think I’ll ever move on from Calista. Line 93) Marvin: Even if they say that I’ll forget everything. Line 94) Marvin: It won’t matter because this is what I feel for her now. Line 95) Marvin: If only I could call, and actually visit her. Line 96) Marvin: But, we all know, none of that is possible. Line 97) Marvin: All of this was temporary from the start. Line 98) Marvin: We just wanted to see if we could make things last a bit longer. Marvin’s dad Line 99) So, if you’re not moving. Does that mean we can fix things between us? Marvin looks up at his dad. Marvin’s narration: Line 100) At first, I thought I could be without my dad. Line 101) But, on second thought, I realized I still need him in my life. Line 102) Does that mean I forgive everything he’s done to me? No. Line 103) But, does that mean I’m willing to see how he’ll make things up to me? Line 104) If Talulla could change Elouise. I’m sure my dad can change too, after all I’ve learned these past eight months. Line 105) Talulla said forgiveness gives people a chance to redeem themselves. Line 106) So, I should give it to my dad. My only living parent. A chance for him to redeem himself. Marvin Line 107) You can try to convince me. Marvin’s dad gets emotional. Marvin’s dad Line 108) Do you really mean it? Marvin nods his head. Marvin Line 109) I still need you dad. Marvin’s dad Line 110) C-Can we hug? Marvin stands up and hugs his dad. His dad hugs him tightly and weeps on his shoulder. Marvin’s dad Line 111) Thank you, Marvin. Marvin’s dad Line 112) You won’t regret this. Marvin’s dad Line 113) I promise to make it all up to you. Marvin hugs his dad. Line 114) Marvin: I’m still my dad’s son. I need my father. And he needs me. Marvin wraps it up to make it home. Marvin’s dad Line 115) Come back whenever you’d like. Marvin’s dad Line 116) I wish you the best with Calista. Marvin Line 117) Thanks dad. It means a lot. Marvin Line 118) I’m glad we talked things out. Marvin Line 119) See you soon. Marvin leaves and walks home. *Many hours earlier Talulla and Calista find the note Marvin left. Calista picks up the note and reads what’s up. Calista Line 120) Marvin went to go see his dad. Talulla Line 121) But, I thought he said he made up his mind about that situation. Calista Line 122) I-I guess he changed his mind. A couple hours later from that. Calista Line 123) It’s been a while, I’m starting to get worried. Talulla Line 124) He’ll be back soon. Just hang tight. Talulla Line 125) I’m heading out to hang with Elouise. You want to come? Calista Line 126) That’s alright. I’ll wait till Marvin gets home. Talulla leaves. Calista sits and waits till Marvin gets back. Marvin opens the door and Calista rushes to him. Calista Line 127) Marvin! You’re back! Calista Line 128) How did everything go? Marvin looks at Calista all melancholy. He hugs her tightly. She hugs him back. Marvin Line 129) I know everything.
