Calista and Marvin wake up beside each other. Marvin opens his eyes. He notices Calista and brings her closer to him. Marvin Line 1) Are you awake? Calista shuffles herself to hug Marvin. She hugs him tightly. She groans a yes and stuffs her face in his chest. Marvin smiles and cuddles her back. Marvin Line 2) Good morning. Calista looks up at Marvin. She gets her unwanted thoughts from the night before. She starts to look upset. Marvin notices. Marvin Line 3) Are you alright? Calista cuddles into Marvin some more. Calista Line 4) For now. Marvin doesn’t understand what Calista means but hugs her back with a smile. As they get ready Marvins brushes his teeth. Calista walks into the bathroom. Marvins caught off-guard. Marvin Line 5) Hey, I’m occupied- Calista disregards his words and sits herself on the counter of the bathroom in front of him. Marvin is left shocked. Marvin Line 6) Did I do something wrong? Calista gets upset. Calista Line 7) You did nothing wrong. Why would you feel that way? Marvin Line 8) It’s just… What are you doing? Calista Line 9) I’m just watching you get ready. That’s all. Marvin Line 10) But, why? Calista lets out an exhausting sigh. Calista Line 11) I don’t want to be away from you. Calista Line 12) Even if it’s just for a second. Marvin smiles. Marvin Line 13) But, I’m getting ready. Can’t you just wait till I’m done? Calista Line 14) No. I can’t. Calista props herself off of the counter. She walks over to Marvin and hugs him behind. She leans herself on him passionately. Calista Line 15) I don’t care if this bothers you. Calista Line 16) N-Not that I don’t care what bothers you. Calista Line 17) Don’t get the wrong idea. Calista Line 18) I’m just gonna do this regardless. Calista stuffs her face into Marvin. Marvins a bit confused but just goes with it and continues getting ready. They walk out together and Talulla sees what’s going on. Marvin shrugs his shoulders. Deep down Talulla knows what’s up. Marvin Line 19) Did you make breakfast? Calista interrupts. Calista Line 20) I’ll make it! They wait until she finishes making breakfast for them. She lays it out for all of them and smiles. They’re a bit confused on the way she's acting but get it over with. She moves Marvins plate to herself. Marvins confused. Marvin Line 21) Oh is this not my plate-? He’s caught off guard when Calista shoves a spoon into his mouth. He eats the food, but is confused. Marvin Line 22) What are you doing? Calista Line 23) Feeding you. Open wide. He accepts the food. He reaches for his plate but Calista moves it away. Calista Line 24) I’m feeding you. Just eat, alright? Marvin Line 25) I’m perfectly capable of feeding myself. Why are you doing this? Calista Line 26) Don’t ask questions. Marvin gives up and lets Calista do what she wants. After they finish, Calista takes all of their plates and washes them. Marvins confused. Marvin Line 27) What’s up with her? Talulla sighs. Talulla Line 28) She just wants to do things for you. That’s all. Marvin Line 29) But, this is too much, don’t you think? Marvin Line 30) What else is she gonna offer to do? Wipe my a*s? Talulla laughs. Talulla Line 31) Just accept it. Marvin Line 32) No. That’s where I draw the line. Marvin Line 33) This is cute and all, but also very confusing. Marvin Line 34) I also have my boundaries you know. Calista shouts she’s finished. Calista Line 35) All done. She comes over and sits next to Marvin. She holds his arm and cuddles into him. Marvin takes Talulla’s advice and just accepts it. He pats her back. Calista Line 36) How are you feeling about your whole dad situation? Talulla Line 37) Yeah. Are you ready to talk to him yet? Marvin sighs. Marvin Line 38) I don’t know about that, you guys. Marvin just realizes something. Marvin Line 39) Wait. Is this why you’re acting so clingy? Marvin Line 40) Look, I know I’ve been brooding these past few days. But, all this smothering isn’t necessary. Line 41) Calista: I’ll just let him think it’s for that, so he won’t get suspicious about me. Talulla Line 42) I told you. Just accept it. Marvin smiles. Marvin Line 43) I’m at a crossroads. Marvin Line 44) My dad told me to take my time figuring all this out. Marvin Line 45) But, I don’t think time will change anything. Marvin Line 46) In a couple of years, I'm sure I’ll look back at this situation and feel the same way. Marvin Line 47) So, do I do nothing forever, or just see how things will go when I tell him I’m up for it? Marvin Line 48) What do you guys think? Talulla sighs. Talulla Line 49) You know. It’s a tough situation. It really is. Talulla Line 50) But, I think the question you should be asking yourself is if you’re okay with doing nothing about it. Talulla Line 51) If you do nothing about it. Nothing will change. Talulla Line 52) Even if you don’t like it now. The earlier you do something. The more progress will occur. Talulla Line 53) You mentioned completely severing ties with your dad. Talulla Line 54) Quitting your job and moving away from him. Talulla Line 55) Do you really mean that? Talulla Line 56) If you do, then do nothing. Talulla Line 57) But, even if there’s a tiny voice in your head saying to do something about it. Talulla Line 58) You should do something. Talulla Line 60) I don’t want you to regret it years later, wishing you did it earlier. Marvin goes silent thinking in his head. Talulla Line 61) Sorry. Did I cross a line saying so much? Marvin Line 62) Oh. No. It’s just that you’re right. Marvin Line 63) I just tend to overthink and contemplate a lot. Marvin Line 64) But hearing what you had to say. Makes me know for sure what I need to do. Talulla Line 65) And that is? Marvin Line 66) I’m gonna need a bit more time to think on it, but I’m more lenient on not doing anything. Marvin Line 67) I won’t gain anything from doing nothing. Marvin Line 68) For once, that actually sounds fine to me. Marvin Line 69) But, it’s such a big decision. I want to think more about it before I finalize it. Talulla Line 70) So, you’re actually gonna quit your job and move like you said that day? *Flashback to Marvin talking with his dad on the balcony. Marvin Line 71) Yeah. Eventually, I guess. Calista rubs Marvin’s shoulders. Talulla Line 72) You should pat yourself on the back. Talulla Line 73) Making a decision like that, is not easy. Marvin smiles. Rex whimpers. Marvin notices. Marvin Line 74) I’m gonna take Rex on a walk. Seems like he needs to go. Calista Line 75) I’ll take him! Marvin Line 76) That’s alright. I’ll do it. Calista Line 77) Then I’ll come with you! Marvin puts his hands on Calista’s shoulders. Marvin Line 78) You don’t have to stay so attached to me all day. Marvin Line 79) Just stay home this time. Please? Calista smiles. Calista Line 80) Okay! Whatever you say! Marvin puts Rex’s leash on and takes him out. Talulla looks at Calista. Talulla Line 81) Look, I know after what I told you, you’re acting differently. Talulla Line 82) But, you need to tone it down a bit, or else he’ll find it suspicious. Calista Line 83) No. I won’t. Calista gets emotional. Calista Line 84) Even if he finds out. It doesn’t matter. Calista Line 85) If I’m going to do something for him. I’m gonna give it my all. Calista Line 86) Make breakfast for him, for the last time. Calista Line 87) Clean everything for him, for the last time. Calista Line 88) Just do everything with passion for him for the last time. Calista Line 89) Because it’ll be the last time I ever do it. Calista Line 90) So, I have to give it my all. Talulla Line 91) Okay, okay. You’re right. Talulla Line 92) I’m sorry. Just stay calm. Talulla goes over to hug Calista. Calista cries in her arms. Marvin overhears everything. He looks upset. Line 93) Marvin: Damn these thin walls! Marvin goes to walk Rex. Marvin’s narration: Line 94) I knew something was up. Line 95) I knew it had nothing to do with my dad. Line 96) It’s because we’ve been going at this for too long. Line 97) If we go on any longer, we’ll be stuck forever. Line 98) And that’s just not possible. Line 99) Not unless someone gives up everything they have. Line 100) But, that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. Line 101) That’s not the way the timeline is. Line 102) Who can I turn to about this? Marvin remembers what Talulla said about his dad.
