Housekeeper 2 Line 2) Welcome, guest. Calista looks around the place in awe as it’s decked out. Calista’s narration: Line 3) I didn’t know what to expect coming here. Line 4) But, this is blowing me away. Line 5) He has housekeepers who keep the place tidy and decked. Line 6) I can’t believe someone would actually live here. Line 7) He’s gotta be some mega rich man, then. Marvin notices Calista’s gaping jaw. He closes it for her and smiles. She looks at him with sparkling eyes. Marvin Line 8) What? Are you shocked? Calista Line 9) Of course I am, this place is incredible. Housekeeper 2 Line 10) I’ll take your coats. They give the housekeeper their coats. Housekeeper 1 Line 11) I’ll show you two to the dinning hall where Master Douglas resides. The housekeeper leads the both of them to the dinning hall where Calista and Marvin see the dining table decked out in food, and his dad sitting at the end of the table. Marvin’s dad Line 12) Greetings you two. Calista Line 13) Hello, sir. I brought you a gift. Calista walks over to give it to him. Marvin’s dad Line 14) How thoughtful of you. You shouldn’t have. Calista Line 15) It’s nothing. I just couldn’t come empty handed. Marvin’s dad Line 16) Please sit, and let’s get this feast started. The housekeepers pull their chairs for Calista and Marvin to sit on. Calista is shocked and sits down amazed. Line 17) Calista: Geez! His dad went all out! Look at that food! I wonder what’s underneath this platter topper? The housekeepers reveal their dishes from the silver platters and Calista looks amazed at all the smoke. Marvin’s dad Line 18) I hope the both of you don’t mind some veal. Line 19) Calista: What the heck even is veal? This must be high end. Marvin’s dad Line 20) I won’t keep you guys waiting. Let’s dig in. They start eating. As they eat, Marvin’s dad starts talking with them. Marvin’s dad Line 21) Tell me, Calista. How did you and my son meet? Calista Line 22) We met by… Calista looks at Marvin struggling with something to say. Calista Line 23) Chance? Marvin’s dad is confused. Marvin’s dad Line 24) What do you mean by that? Calista Line 25) What I mean is we met unintentionally. Calista Line 26) The both of us just randomly bumped into each other one day, and have been by each other’s side ever since. Calista looks at Marvin uncertainty. Line 27) Calista: I hope what I said doesn’t sound bad. It’s not like I can tell him how we actually met. Marvin’s dad Line 28) Ahh, so an unexpected romance? Calista Line 29) That’s one way to put it. Marvin’s dad Line 30) Did that happen recently? Calista Line 31) No, this happened around eight months ago. Marvin’s dad looks confused. Marvin’s dad Line 32) Huh? How come Marvin has never mentioned you? Calista Line 33) Oh… Uh- Marvin interjects. Marvin Line 34) I wanted to keep my relationship with her private. Until I sorted my feelings out for her. Marvin Line 35) We got together around two weeks ago. Marvin’s dad Line 36) And yet, you never told me a thing. Calista senses the uncomfortable tension surrounding them. She changes up the topic to lighten the mood. Calista Line 37) So, how is your business going, Mr. Douglas? Marvin’s dad looks surprised. Marvin’s dad Line 38) Has Marvin already told you what I do? Calista nods her head yes. Marvin’s dad goes into explaining everything to her. They finish up their dishes and continue talking with him. Calista tries to look intrigued. Marvin is proudly showing his boredom. He yawns loudly. Marvin’s dad Line 39) Are you tired? Marvin Line 40) Why, yes. If you heard yourself talking, you would understand too. Marvin’s dad gets irritated. Line 41) Calista: Why is Marvin putting him on the spot like that? Marvin’s dad Line 42) Why don’t you have some more champagne? That’ll wake you up. The housekeeper pours some champagne for Marvin and runs out. Marvin’s dad Line 43) Open a new bottle and pour some for Calista too. The housekeeper comes beside Calista and opens the bottle. The champagne splashes everywhere, getting Calista drenched. Housekeeper 2 Line 44) I’m really sorry, Ms. Calista! Calista Line 45) Don’t worry about it. Marvin’s dad looks dead into the housekeeper's eyes. Marvin’s dad Line 46) Show her to the washroom. Immediately! Calista gets up and goes to the washroom. Calista Line 47) Please excuse me. Marvin and Marvin’s dad have a talk. Marvin Line 48) Let’s cut to the chase. Why did you invite us here? Marvin’s dad Line 49) Don’t be spoiled, boy. I prepared this nice dinner for both you and your girlfriend. So, quit the attitude. Marvin Line 50) You don't do these things without a reason. I know you better than that. So, what’s your plan? Marvin’s dad Line 51) Why haven’t you been coming to work? It doesn’t make sense why you’re “tired”. Marvin Line 52) Because I can. Marvin Line 53) I was obviously occupied by being with my girlfriend. Marvin’s dad Line 54) I wanted you to find someone reliable. It’s painfully obvious that this girl’s after you just for the money. Marvin Line 55) That’s not true. Marvin’s dad Line 56) You’re one clueless brat. You don’t have good judgment. So, I’ll make the call. Quit things with this woman! Marvin Line 57) You’re the one that doesn’t have good judgment. If you’re so unsure about her. Why don’t the two of you talk in private? Marvin Line 58) Quit putting this image that you’re “Mr. Nice guy” in front of everyone. It makes me sick. Calista comes back with a wet shirt. Calista Line 59) Hope I’m not intruding on your conversations. Calista Line 60) Please keep going from where you left off. Marvin’s dad Line 61) Actually, Calista. Can you and I talk? Privately for a moment? Calista Line 62) Y-Yes of course, sir. They exit and head off the balcony. Marvin orders the housekeeper for more champagne. Shot cuts to Calista and Marvin’s dad on the balcony. Calista takes in the view from the balcony. Calista Line 63) Wow. The view is breathtaking from up here. Calista smiles as she takes it in. She sets her eyes on Marvin’s dad to see him upset looking. Calista Line 64) S-Sir? Are you alright? Marvin’s dad Line 65) How much do you want? Calista Line 66) Pardon? Marvin’s dad Line 67) How much money do you want to leave my son alone? Marvin’s dad Line 68) I know you’re only here because of that. Marvin’s dad Line 69) There’s no love between you two. Marvin’s dad Line 70) And if there is. It’s all an act that my foolish son fell for. Marvin’s dad Line 71) But, you’re not fooling me. So, cough it up. How much do you want? Calista Line 72) Sir, you’re mistaken. Marvin’s dad Line 73) Excuse me? Calista Line 74) You’ve got it all wrong. Calista Line 75) There’s no amount you can give me to keep me away from your son. Calista Line 76) I love him, and there’s nothing you can give me to change that. Calista Line 77) Everything I’m feeling for him is authentic, and genuine. I assure you. Marvin’s dad Line 78) Then why do you love him? Marvin’s dad Line 79) Answer that, and maybe you’ll convince me. Calista thinks to herself and looks beyond the view. Calista Line 80) What other reason do I have to give besides that I just do? She looks at him straight in the eye. Calista Line 81) Tell me. Were you ever taught how to breathe? Marvin’s dad Line 82) What do you mean? Calista Line 83) Just answer my question. Marvin’s dad Line 84) That’s the most foolish question anyone’s ever asked me. Of course, I was never taught. It’s always just been something I’ve done. Calista Line 85) Exactly. It’s always something you’ve done. Calista Line 86) That’s how love is for me. Calista Line 87) It’s something I was never taught how to do, I just knew how to do because I knew what my feelings were. Calista Line 88) Same thing could be said for I don’t know… Potty training? Marvin’s dad’s face is getting bizarre. Calista Line 89) Us humans have to urinate. However, we weren’t taught how to. We just trained ourselves. Marvin’s dad takes in her weird analogy. A couple moments of silence pass between them. Calista Line 90) To love. Is something we were born to feel. Calista Line 91) Sure, there’s a bit of trial and error. Calista Line 92) But, we were never taught how to feel that way. Calista Line 93) That’s how I feel about your son. Calista Line 94) When he came into my life, and I got to know him. Calista Line 95) I grew in love with him. And realized I was head over heels. Calista Line 96) But, there was never a reason as to why. It’s just something that happened. Calista Line 97) So, I let it happen. Because I knew it was natural to feel that way. Calista Line 98) I love your son, just because I love him. Calista Line 99) Until I met him. It never occurred to me how much bliss such a feeling could bring into someone's life. Calista Line 100) Now, I finally understand what people have been talking about all this time… Calista Line 101) Why loving is one of the best feelings in the world. Calista Line 102) The sad little butterfly in my stomach that was ready to give love, was finally satisfied for once. Calista Line 103) It’s like I became C!nd3r311@, and he was my prince charming to sweep me off my feet. Calista Line 104) I love Marvin because I know him, and accept him for who he is. Calista Line 105) And he knows me and accepts me for who I am too. Line 106) Marvin’s dad: She really is in love with him. She looks at Marvin’s dad's eyes, and they spark. Calista Line 107) Now, do you believe me? Marvin’s dad smiles. Marvin’s dad Line 108) Y-Yes. Yes, I do. End of episode. © 2024 YoshAuthor's Note
