Episode 44:

February 25th 2024. The day is Sunday. It's nighttime.

Casimir leads Sotsona into the entrance of the yacht.

Sotsona panics on the inside.

Line 1) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: What am I doing? Why did I agree to do this so swiftly?

As they go through the entrance, they are lead into stairs and go up it together.

They make it to the first floor, spotting the crowd of people throwing a party.

Sotsona grabs Casimir’s sleeve before he moves along any further.

She looks at him in desperation.

Sotsona

Line 2) I’m begging you. Let’s leave while we can.

Casimir tries to calm Sotsona down.

Casimir

Line 3) We haven’t even started doing anything. Chill out. Nobody has noticed us.

Sotsona

Line 4) This is obviously a private party held for whatever occasion.

Sotsona

Line 5) We weren’t invited. We can’t just drag ourselves in like this.

Casimir looks around the inside of the yacht and spots a table.

The table has a sign labeled with “name tags”.

Casimir grabs Sotsona’s arm and walks them over to the table.

He picks a random name tag and puts him on himself.

Sotsona looks at Casimir with concern in her eyes.

Sotsona

Line 6) What are you doing? That’s obviously for someone else.

Casimir replies in a cool tone.

Casimir

Line 7) Relax. This is just so that we’re able to blend in with the crowd instead of sticking out like sore thumbs.

Sotsona looks at Casimir in distress.

Sotsona

Line 8) But this is some else’s name tag. We can’t just wear it on ourselves. What happens when the real person who this belongs to shows up and can’t find their tag?

Casimir replies in a collective manner.

Casimir

Line 9) That’s just a problem we’ll have to deal with then. But for now, let’s just use it.

Sotsona replies, deeply upset by Casimir’s actions.

Sotsona

Line 10) This is literally identity theft. Why are you doing this?

Casimir replies in an indifferent manner.

Casimir

Line 11) Sotsona, I’m not committing any crimes. I just want do something extremely bold for once. What’s the worst these people can do to us?

Sotsona replies in a tense manner.

Sotsona

Line 12) They can call the cops. We trespassed on their boat. And now we’re stealing their party members’ name tags.

Sotsona

Line 13) I get you want to do something risky for the thrill of adrenaline, but this is way too much.

Sotsona

Line 14) I’m really close to leaving you here on your own.

Casimir puts a random name tag on Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 15) Could you be a more obvious goody-two-shoes?

Casimir

Line 16) When have you ever done something this risky in your life before?

Sotsona shrugs her shoulders in distress.

Casimir

Line 17) It’d be a good bedtime story to tell our kids about someday. You wouldn’t want to be a boring parent to them, right?

Sotsona looks at Casimir in confusion from him saying “our kids”.

Casimir

Line 18) Don’t you want to live your life on the edge sometimes? Bend the rules and do whatever you want?

Sotsona looks at Casimir with uncertainty and shakes her head no.

Casimir

Line 19) In that case, I’ll have to teach you how fun it is to be in these sorts of predicaments.

Casimir

Line 20) You’re still continuing to think about the worst case scenario* when it comes to anything.

*Refer back to episode 32, line 65.

Casimir

Line 21) Just relax and follow my lead-

Casimir stares at Sotsona’s name tag and addresses her by the name labeled on it.

Casimir

Line 22) Kiana Nielsen.

Sotsona looks down herself and stares at the name tag Casimir put on her, connecting the dots on why he addressed her differently.

She shrugs in frustration.

Sotsona

Line 23) Casimir-

Casimir

Line 24) Nope, my name isn’t Casimir.

Casimir points to his name tag.

Casimir

Line 25) It’s Dylan McKay. Don’t slip up or you’ll blow our cover.

Casimir takes Sotsona’s hand and leads her to the party.

He goes to the drink station and pours himself a drink and one for Sotsona too.

Sotsona looks at the drink in concern.

Sotsona

Line 26) What if they laced this with something dangerous?

Casimir continues to reassure Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 27) It’s just some good old party punch.

Casimir hands the drink over to Sotsona and puts his arm around her.

He whispers in her ear.

Casimir

Line 28) If we show signs that we’re comfortable next to each other, people won’t suspect us so easily.

Sotsona blushes from how close Casimir is to her and from how his whispering is tickling her ear.

She whispers back to him.

Sotsona

Line 29) I don’t know if you’ve catched on yet, but even I’m NOT comfortable around you.

Casimir laughs.

Casimir

Line 30) Just try your best then.

Sotsona whines.

Casimir

Line 31) I can’t be the only one with my arm wrapped around you.

Casimir looks at Sotsona, signaling for her to hold him back too.

Sotsona rolls her eyes in annoyance and places her arm on his back.

She whispers back to him.

Sotsona

Line 32) Are you happy now?

Casimir nods his head in satisfaction.

The party people make an announcement.

They turn off the music for everyone to listen up.

The hand the host a mic.

Host

Line 33) Alright. I think that just about everyone has arrived by now.

Host

Line 34) I would like to thank you all for coming. This baby shower means a whole lot to our family.

Line 35) Casimir and Sotsona’s inner thoughts: It’s a baby shower?

They look at each other in confusion.

The host puts their hand on their belly.

Sotsona and Casimir notice the host’s pregnant belly and nod their heads in realization.

Host

Line 36) So, I would like to raise a toast in wishing for my child to live a good life.

Everyone raises their cups.

Casimir looks at Solsona to signify she do the same.

Sotsona sighs and raises her glass along with everyone else.

Host

Line 37) Cheers everyone! I hope you have a good time here!

Everyone abides to the toast and drinks their drinks.

Line 38) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Actually, this punch isn’t so bad.

Sotsona

Line 39) Now what do we do?

Casimir

Line 40) Mingle with them, obviously. Have you ever even been to a party before?

Sotsona

Line 41) No, I haven’t.

Casimir looks at Sotsona in a speculative manner.

Casimir

Line 42) I can tell.

Sotsona

Line 43) Either way, you should already know by now that I’m not a social person. So, why are you making me do this?

Casimir

Line 44) Hear me out, these people most likely won’t remember a thing.

Casimir

Line 45) So, what are you so afraid of?

Sotsona

Line 46) Someone like you who loves to yap all day, wouldn’t understand.

Casimir playfully looks offended at Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 47) In that case, you’re on your own.

Casimir sets foot to walk away from Sotsona.

Sotsona grabs his sleeve again.

Sotsona looks at Casimir in an offended way.

Sotsona

Line 48) So, that’s how it’s going to be? You’re just going to leave me here alone, after I agreed to be here because of YOU?

Casimir

Line 49) You can’t be by my side all day like some sort of lost puppy. Don’t exclude yourselves from the others. Interact with them or you’ll stick out.

Casimir

Line 50) Just find someone to talk to. Don’t overexaggerate something that’s simple. Exposure is the best way to get over your fears

Casimir offers Sotsona a reassuring smile.

Casimir

Line 51) I’m off. See you in a bit. I’ll get us acquainted with some people in the mean time.

Sotsona rolls her eyes in frustration and Casimir disappears in the crowd.

Line 52) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I should’ve just picked him up and tossed him over my shoulder when he set foot on this yacht.

Line 53) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I shouldn’t have ranted about being bolder and doing things without thinking about the consequences earlier if I’d known he’d do something like this.

Line 54) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I should’ve known better. He’s the type of guy to take things too literally.

Sotsona realizes something.

Line 55) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Wait. Why am I blaming myself? This is Casimir’s doing. Avoiding his rash behavior is inevitable.

Line 56) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: He said I’m on my own, which means he’s on his own too.

Line 57) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Therefore, I’ll just leave it at that. Whatever he does is his responsibility that I won’t be accountable for.

Line 58) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I don’t understand why he would do such a thing during a time when I’m contemplating our relationship.

Line 59) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: He’s making me think twice about sorting things out between us so that we can become a REAL couple.

Sotsona walks around the party and finds a balcony on the yacht.

She opens the door and exits for some fresh air.

She finds herself looking over at the bay’s park view.

She realizes something.

Line 60) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Wait! I can see the bay’s park from here. That must mean we set sail.

Sotsona leans closer to the edge of the balcony and spots the ocean beneath.

She tries to figure out how far away they’re from the bay’s park.

Sotsona rubs her head in distress.

Line 61) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: D****t Casimir! I knew we were going to set sail.

Line 62) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Who knows where we’ll be heading now.

Another person who’s also chilling on the balcony notices Sotsona’s stressful state.

The person approaches Sotsona.

Old lady

Line 63) What’s a pretty woman like you so stressed out about?

Sotsona flinches, being off-guard from this random old lady approaching her.

She responds in a nervous manner.

Sotsona

Line 64) Oh. Uh. H-Hey.

Old lady

Line 65) Hello to you too. What could your name be?

Sotsona looks at her name tag for clarification.

She hesitantly responds with her fake name.

Sotsona

Line 66) I-I’m… Kiana Nielsen. Nice to meet you.

Sotsona awkwardly extends her hand out for a handshake.

The old lady accepts it.

Old lady

Line 67) Kiana. What a lovely name? How do you know my daughter?

Sotsona’s eyes widen in realization.

Line 68) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: She must be referring to the host. In that case, I need to come up with something quick to say.

Sotsona thinks of a random excuse.

Sotsona

Line 69) I’m a friend from work.

The old lady nods her head in understandment.

Old lady

Line 70) Oh, I see. I’m glad you could make it to the baby shower. Say, do you have any kids of your own?

Sotsona is caught off-guard with this question.

Sotsona

Line 71) Um. N-No I don’t.

The old lady joyfully laughs.

Old lady

Line 72) Sorry. I should’ve known. You look so young.

Old lady

Line 73) Perhaps you have a partner then?

The old lady gives Sotsona an intriguing look.

Line 74) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Casimir is my partner. But not in THAT sort of way. At least not yet.

Line 75) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: This is my first time ever being asked about that.

Line 76) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Sure, other people have complimented us for being a good couple, and I went along with that…

Line 77) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: But this is different. This is more direct.

Sotsona

Line 78) Uh. I guess you could say that.

The old lady looks at Sotsona with uncertainty.

Old lady

Line 79) You sound confused.

Sotsona nervously smiles.

Sotsona

Line 80) I guess I am. It’s a bit… Complicated between us.

Old lady

Line 81) Well, what’s so complicated? I have plenty of years of expertise willing to help you.

Sotsona hesitates before opening up to the lady, then thinks back to what Casimir said to her earlier (refer back to line 44).

Sotsona

Line 82) I’m just not so certain about my relationship with this person. I don’t feel committed.

Sotsona

Line 83) The issue is that he IS committed. And he’s trying to make me feel the same way about him.

Sotsona

Line 84) He even went as far as making it his mission to prove it to me, even though we’ve only known each other for a short amount of time.

Sotsona

Line 85) But, I just feel like we’re just moving things WAY too quickly.

Sotsona

Line 86) I left my parents and decided to stay with him.

Sotsona

Line 87) I guess I’m still unable to process how easily and quickly things have been occurring. Everything just feel surreal

Sotsona

Line 88) Which, feels like a shame, because there’s this part of me that wants things to work out between us.

Old lady

Line 89) Patience, my dear.

Sotsona’s eyes widen in shock from the lady’s remark.

A chill creeps up her spine, sending shivers across her body.

Line 90) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: This is exactly what Casimir’s been telling me*.

*Refer back to episode 24, line 10.

Old lady

Line 91) You’re feeling iffy about things. That’s because the timing is quite sporadic.

Old lady

Line 92) But, you’re going to realize that time goes on it’s own wavelength.

Old lady

Line 93) There’s nothing we can do to stop it. It just continues whether we like it or not.

Old lady

Line 94) However, there’s two ways you can go about this…

Old lady

Line 95) You can ignore time, or you can go along with it.

Old lady

Line 96) When I was young, I ignored time. Because of that, I didn’t let things fall into place correctly.

Old lady

Line 97) This led to years of trying to get back on my feet so that I could make things right.

Old lady

Line 98) So, I suggest you go along with time.

Old lady

Line 99) Let it lead you. And let it heal you.

Old lady

Line 100) In time, I assure you that things will set sail smoothly with your relationship.

Old lady

Line 101) You just have to be patient. Progress doesn’t happen easily.

Old lady

Line 102) Let time be your friend. Not your foe.

End of episode.
