Marvin sets up the pull out mattress and makes their beds. He stacked pillows and blankets on top of the mattress. He lays down and pats for Calista to lay next to him. Marvin Line 1) My bad. Do you prefer a side? Calista Line 2) I told you before that it doesn’t matter to me. Marvin Line 3) That was different. We weren’t in a relationship back then. Marvin Line 4) You probably just said that not to give me a hard time. So, which part do you want to lay on? Calista Line 5) You’ve got the wrong idea. That was my genuine answer. I don’t have a preference. Marvin Line 6) Whatever, don’t nag me if you’re uncomfortable on your side. Marvin Line 7) Even if you do nag, I’ll still switch out with you, regardless. Calista tries to gather herself. Calista Line 8) That was too much. Calista Line 9) Is it really that big of a deal on which side I sleep on? Marvin Line 10) It’s a big deal to me. I want you to be comfortable. Calista Line 11) Don’t worry. I’m not really a people pleaser. If I don’t think something’s right. I’ll let you know automatically. Marvin Line 12) You’re not a people pleaser? But, you went on that trip your boss nagged about during the holidays. Calista Line 13) Ah. Yeah. You’re right. Calista Line 14) It just depends on the situation. That was something I couldn’t get out of. Calista lies next to Marvin. Marvin Line 15) So, how’re you feeling? Calista smiles. Calista Line 16) I’m really really happy. Marvin smiles. Marvin Line 17) So am I. Calista Line 18) And your dog is a bundle of joy. Calista Line 19) But, you should’ve caught me when he pounced. Marvin Line 20) I’m sorry you’re majesty, but I’m not some superhero with quick reflexes. Marvin Line 21) Did you get a bump on your head, sweetie? Marvin jokingly tries to console Calista. Marvin Line 22) Let me see it? He reaches over to Calista’s head but she worms herself out of the situation. Calista Line 23) Ugh, you’re being weird. Calista Line 24) There’s no bump. I’m fine. Really. Marvin smiles. Marvin Line 25) Come closer to me. You wiggled far away. Calista Line 26) Just don’t try to pull something like that ever again. Calista comes closer to Marvin. Marvin Line 27) Why not, was it really that bad? Marvin starts to tease again. Marvin Line 28) What? Do you not like me anymore? Calista Line 29) Go to sleep. Marvin Line 30) What? You don’t want to talk with me? Marvin Line 31) Are you actually tired? Calista Line 32) Just close your eyes and think of unicorns and rainbows. Marvin Line 33) Don’t you want to hear about my plans with you? Calista’s interest peaked. Calista Line 34) I’m listening. Marvin Line 35) Tomorrow. I’m gonna rent a boat. We'll go paddling and have a picnic with it. Calista’s eyes spark up. Calista Line 36) That sounds amazing! A question daunts Talulla. Calista Line 37) But, what about Talulla? Marvin Line 38) Does she want to come with us? Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of a date? Calista Line 39) No, it’s just what will she do when we’re gone? Calista Line 40) It’s not like she has a phone or something to keep her company. This is a completely different time. Marvin Line 41) That’s true. Marvin Line 42) I can introduce her to my friends and she can hang with them. Marvin Line 43) I think they’ll get along well. Calista Line 44) Hmm. I guess that could work. Calista Line 45) What if your friends want to hang out with you, though? Marvin Line 46) That’s too bad. Because I’ve already got plans. Calista Line 47) You haven’t told them about us yet, have you? Marvin Line 48) I was too busy looking for you all day, so no. Calista Line 49) Do you plan on telling them? Marvin Line 50) Uhh… Marvin Line 51) Do they really have to know? Calista Line 52) Of course they do. Calista Line 53) They’re your best friends. Calista Line 54) You’ve known them longer than you’ve known me. Marvin Line 55) Fine. I’ll tell them. Marvin Line 56) But, you’re also my best friend. Calista is confused. Calista Line 57) Okay… Marvin Line 58) Wait a minute. Am I not your best friend? Calista Line 59) What do you mean? Marvin gets a ray of hope. Calista Line 60) Of course, you aren’t. His hopes get shattered. Marvin Line 61) W-W-W-What do you mean? Calista Line 62) Talulla’s my best friend. Marvin Line 63) And so am I? Calista Line 66) But, you’re my boyfriend. Calista Line 67) You can’t be my best friend and boyfriend at the same time. Calista Line 68) Those titles are assigned to one person and one person only. Marvin Line 69) Who said that? Calista Line 70) That’s just the way things are. Calista Line 71) I’m sure you have a best friend too. Marvin Line 72) I have best friends. As in plural, so they consist of many people. Calista Line 73) Let be real. There’s still that one person who’s your main bestie. Marvin Line 74) Not for me. Calista Line 75) Well then, that’s just you. Marvin Line 76) Unbelievable! Calista Line 77) What? Marvin makes himself into a caterpillar with his sheets and turns to the side away from Calista. He takes all of the blanket. Calista Line 78) Are we going to sleep now? Calista Line 79) You took all of the blanket. Can you give me some? Marvin stays silent. Calista Line 80) I'll get cold at night. Marvin still doesn’t say a word. Calista Line 81) Pretty please? Marvin Line 82) Take a hint Calina! I’m not speaking with you. Calista Line 83) Marvin. Why do you do this? And the Calina thing again? Calista Line 84) Fine, you’re my bestfriend and boyfriend. Now give me some of the blanket. Marvin Line 85) At least say it like you mean it. Calista clears her throat. Calista Line 86) Then face me. Calista Line 87) This is a monumental moment. Don’t miss it. Marvin peers his head out of his sheets. Calista Line 88) Marvin. You are my bestfriend and boyfriend. Calista Line 89) I mean that with my whole heart. Marvins eyes spark up. Calista Line 90) Now do you have that wrapped around your head? Calista Line 91) Give me some of the blanket. Calista Line 92) And a cuddle. Please. Marvin hugs Calista and buries his head into her shoulder. She hugs his back. Calista Line 93) Are you okay now? Marvin Line 94) Yeah. I was just kidding with you. Calista Line 95) I knew it. They pull back. Calista Line 96) Okay, now actually go to bed. Marvin Line 97) You forgot one thing. Calista is confused. Marvin points to his cheek. Marvin Line 98) Goodnight kiss. Marvin Line 99) Come on. Give it right here. Calista rolls her eyes and kisses Marvins cheek. Marvin blushes. She snuggles into Marvins chest. Calista Line 100) Okay, actually go to sleep.
