In Another Lifetime By Yosh Episode 47A Chapter by Yosh Marvin heads out to hang with his friends and update them on news between him and Calista. Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Talulla comes back from vacation and greets Calista.

Marvin texts his friends something urgent in a groupchat with Russell and Cady. Text reads: Hey guys this is Marvin. Let's meet up at Cady’s place. I have urgent news to share about my progress. Replies: Russell: This better be good. Replies: Cady: Yeah, It better be something major. Marvin is now at Cady’s house and Russell and Cady are waiting for him to talk as he sits in front of them. Cady Line 1) Well? Spit it out, Marvin! Russell Line 2) Yeah. Get to the point. You’re making me nervous. Marvin was zoning out, until they told him to talk. Marvin Line 3) Oh! Calista, asked me out! Cady and Russell are shocked at Marvin. Cady Line 4) W-What?! How did this happen?! Russell Line 5) Wait a minute. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Russell Line 6) This is Marvin we’re talking about. He always leaves out the important details. Russell Line 7) Was she hinting that she was asking you out in a dating sense? Russell explains in a way for Marvin to understand. Marvin Line 8) No… Russell and Cady look at each other in defeat. Russell gets up. Russell Line 9) I’m leaving. Marvin Line 10) Wait. Sit back down. Cady puts her hand on Russell’s shoulder for him to sit. Marvin Line 11) You guys. This is a major accomplishment for me. Cady replies sarcastically. Cady Line 12) Yeah. For you. Russell Line 13) Marvin. Would you like to know what's happened in the past 4 months besides you and Calista going back and forth with each other? Russell Line 14) My grandson learned how to walk and his teeth are coming in. That’s how long this banter has been going on. Marvin Line 15) Listen. We’re taking things slow. Russell Line 16) At this rate, you'll probably return to your time outliving your previous one. Russell Line 17) Hurry it up a notch. Cady flicks Russell's head. Cady Line 18) Don’t mind his bad manners. Cady Line 19) I think it’s romantic. But, I will admit this is a slow burn. Cady Line 20) The book I picked up a month ago has already gotten to the point faster than you Calista and have. Marvin replies sarcastically. Marvin Line 21) Yay. I love how supportive my friends are. Cady Line 22) Russell, let’s hear him out. Marvin Line 23) Usually I’m the one to initiate things with Calista, or start things first with her. Marvin Line 24) But, this is something she did all on her own. Marvin Line 25) You may not get it. But, that means something grandiose for me. Russell Line 26) Are you sure it wasn’t just a friendly gesture? Marvin Line 27) I don’t think so. I feel that in my gut. Russell Line 28) You've acted on your gut instincts before, and look where that got you. Russell Line 29) You’re gonna need a lot more proof other than just your gut instincts. Cady Line 30) Russell, you’re being too hard on him. Russell Line 31) I’m hard on him because I care. Cady gets a bit frustrated with Russell. Cady Line 32) I’ll do the talking now. Cady Line 33) As blunt as Russell sounds. He’s… Right. Cady Line 34) To call an emergency meeting for something as minor as her asking you out is a complete misuse of the system. Cady Line 35) Russell and I are too old to get involved in these shenanigans. Marvin looks down. Cady Line 36) Hey now. Don’t be bummed out. Cady Line 37) If we have to start from somewhere. Let’s start with if Calista even likes you. Cady Line 38) We’re not even sure of that and you’re making these bold assumptions. Marvin thinks in silence. Marvin Line 39) As always. You’re right. Cady Line 40) Sorry, but we can't always indulge our fantasies. Cady puts her arm on Marvin’s shoulder. Cady Line 41) Wake up to reality, my friend. They wrap up their meeting and Marvin is heading out. Russell Line 42) You sure you don’t need a ride back? Marvin Line 43) That’s fine. I would like some time to walk and think. Russell Line 44) Marvin… Marvin is questioning. Russell Line 45) Keep your head up. Russell Line 46) Everything will work out. Keep us posted. Marvin nods his head and waves at Russell for farewell. Meanwhile at the girls place Talulla has just gotten back home. Calista and Talulla reunite in a big warm hug. Talulla Line 47) Ahhh! I’ve missed you! Calista Line 48) Me too! I didn’t know you were coming back so early! Talulla Line 49) I wanted to surprise you. Where’s Marvin? Calista Line 50) You should’ve planned the surprise better. Cause Marvin’s not here. Talulla’s confused. Talulla Line 51) Huh? He wouldn’t want to spend a moment away from you- Talulla realizes she can’t tell Calista about Marvin’s feelings. Calista Line 52) He’s hanging out with his friends. He said it was urgent. I hope everything’s okay. Line 53) Talulla: If he’s hanging out with his friends, he must be updating them on Calista which means that something big happened while I was gone. Calista Line 54) What’s up with you? It looks like you're trying to figure something out. Talulla Line 55) Oh. I am. No. I’m not. Just thinking. You know? Calista is confused why Talulla had to clarify herself so much. Calista Line 56) Anyways there’s something I need to confess to you. Calista Line 57) We need to have a girl talk. Talulla is confused. Talulla Line 58) You’re always so transparent. There's no way you haven't confessed everything to me already. Talulla Line 59) What is it? Did you finally get into reading fanfiction? Calista Line 60) What? No… Calista Line 61) I got into that ages ago. They high five each other and beam. Calista Line 62) All jokes aside. This is serious. Talulla senses the serious tone. Line 63) Talulla: Yeah it is serious. I don’t think I’ve seen Calista this serious in a while. Calista blushes. Calista Line 64) You know what? We can’t do this here. Calista grabs Talulla’s hand and leads her to her room. They get into Calista’s room and she plops her on the bed and shuts the door facing the opposite direction from Talulla. Talulla Line 65) Goodness! Is it really that serious to the point where we have to go to another room? Calista covers her face and continues blushing. Talulla gets concerned because she thinks Calista’s covering her face because she’s crying. Talulla Line 66) A-Are you crying? What’s wrong? Calista Line 67) I’m not crying. I just can’t look at you when I tell you this. Calista begins her confession. Calista Line 68) I- Calista Line 69) I-I like Marvin! Calista uncovers her face to show it as red as a tomato. Calista Line 70) T-There. I said it. Calista stammers a bit on her words. Calista Line 71) I really like… M-Marvin. Calista’s sighs from relief. Calista Line 72) I’ve been meaning to get that off my chest for a while now. Calista Line 73) So, that’s my secret. Calista sits next to the jaw-dropped Talulla. She nudges her by the side since she’s been quiet for a while. Calista Line 74) Say something! Talulla Line 75) B-But. Y-You can’t. Talulla Line 76) You realize how much of a pickle that puts his situation in. Calista shrieks. Calista Line 77) I-I know! And I thought it was a silly crush at first. But it’s lasted way longer just to be that! I don’t even know what I think anymore! Talulla excitedly hugs Calista. Talulla Line 78) Ugh. Calista! You know I can’t be mad at you! Calista Line 79) Talulla. This is bad. This is so bad. Talulla Line 80) Love is not bad. Calista Line 81) I’m not in love with him. Don’t jump to conclusions. Talulla Line 82) Oh, come on. You guys eventually will, sooner or later. Talulla covers her mouth since she blurted out important information. Talulla Line 83) I-I mean. I-I didn’t say anything. She tries to act nonchalant. Calista Line 84) Don’t worry. I already know he feels the same way. Talulla is shocked. Talulla Line 85) H-How the heck do you know that?! Calista Line 86) It was a drunk confession from him. We have a lot to catch up on. Talulla Line 87) If it was a drunk confession, does he remember it? And does he know you feel the same way? Calista Line 88) I don’t think he remembers it. And, I also don’t think he knows I feel the same way about him. But, I am being quite obvious about it. Talulla is kicking her feet. She’s very excited. Calista Line 89) I even asked him out to the arcade with me the other day. But, I’m sure he only saw it as a friendly gesture. Talulla is shocked. Talulla Line 90) The arcade! I missed a whole chapter! Calista Line 91) Yeah. Like I said. We need to catch up. Talulla shakes Calista profusely. Calista Line 92) Why are you doing this to me? Talulla Line 93) Ah! I’m so happy for you! Back on Marvin walking home. Marvin’s narration: Line 94) Am I really blowing things out of proportion? Line 95) Are things only glorified because I like Calista so much? Line 96) I must be thinking unrealistically. Line 97) I’m letting my fantasies get in the way of what’s truly in front of me. Line 98) Does she even like me? Line 99) Was she asking me out only because she wanted to hang out as friends? Line 100) But, then why was she acting so differently? Line 101) It’s as if she lightened up. Loosened her boundaries. Marvin halts in his position. Line 102) That couldn’t have been for no reason. Line 103) There’s no mistaking this feeling. Line 104) Calista likes me! Marvin blushes immensely.
