Episode 22:

February 21st 2024. The day is Wednesday and it's nighttime.

Casimir just got off the phone with his mother, Zephryn.

Casimir calls his friend/assistant Yuvin.

His friend Yuvin answers the call.

Yuvin

Line 1) What do you want from me?

Casimir reacts in a offended manner.

Casimir

Line 2) Hello to you too.

Casimir

Line 3) I need to fill you in on something.

Yuvin sighs through the phone in a frustrated manner.

Yuvin

Line 4) Make it quick.

Casimir

Line 5) Um. I’ll try my best. But, it’s kind of a long explanation.

Yuvin whines.

Casimir is upset that he feels like a burden to Yuvin.

Casimir

Line 6) Is it really that dreadful to talk with me?

Yuvin

Line 7) I just don’t want to hear you rambling.

Yuvin

Line 8) Plus, it’s late. I was getting ready to sleep, you know?

Casimir realizes Yuvin has a good point and that he doesn’t want to affiliate him with something he doesn’t have to hear.

Casimir

Line 9) … Right. I’m sorry.

Yuvin sighs again.

Casimir

Line 10) I’ll call you back some other time then.

Yuvin

Line 11) Don’t make me feel bad for saying that.

Yuvin continues to sigh.

Yuvin

Line 12) Just tell me what it is so that we can be over it.

Casimir explains everything to Yuvin about Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 13) … So, will you back me up if my mother asks you about this?

Yuvin

Line 14) Casimir. I’m confused.

Yuvin

Line 15) Why are you getting married to someone so rashly?

Yuvin

Line 16) Think this through. Marriage is no joke.

Yuvin

Line 17) If things don’t work out between you two, think of how badly that could be for the company.

Yuvin

Line 18) You’re still young. What’s the rush in getting married so soon?

Yuvin

Line 19) Especially to a stranger. You’re smarter than this.

Yuvin sighs in distress.

Yuvin

Line 20) It’s so obvious she’s in it for the money.

This comment ticks Casimir off.

Casimir

Line 21) Watch your mouth.

Yuvin senses Casimir’s serious tone.

Casimir

Line 22) … Look. I don’t need you to lecture me about my life choices.

Casimir

Line 23) I know what I’m doing, okay?

Casimir

Line 24) I didn’t ask for your opinion. I called you to ask if you could cover for us if anyone asked like my mother.

Casimir rubs his head in distress.

Casimir

Line 25) So, will you help me?

Yuvin sighs.

Yuvin

Line 26) Do I really have a choice?

Casimir

Line 27) Yes, you do.

Casimir

Line 28) All I'm asking is that if my mom asks you if I met Sotsona at a restaurant 3 years ago with you accompanying me, you can confirm it.

Casimir

Line 29) Other than that. You’re supposed to act oblivious about our relationship because I’ve been keeping this a secret from everyone.

Casimir

Line 30) It’s simple really. So, is that something you can do?

Yuvin sighs.

Yuvin

Line 31) Yes. It is.

Yuvin

Line 32) I know you didn’t ask for my 2 cents…

Yuvin

Line 33) But REALLY think this through Casimir.

Casimir

Line 34) And why do you suddenly care so much about my choices?

Casimir teases Yuvin.

Casimir

Line 35) Are you worried about me, baby?

Yuvin cringes from hearing Casimir respond to him like that.

Yuvin

Line 36) For your information, it’s proper etiquette to off some guidance to someone out when they’re making a bad choice.

Casimir

Line 37) Don’t you know it’s proper etiquette not to talk to your boss like this? Just say you care about me and be on your merry way.

Yuvin

Line 38) Don’t misconstrue anything I’m telling you. Trust me. It’s not what you think.

Casimir

Line 39) Fine, fine. I said what I said. Go to sleep.

Yuvin ends the call.

Line 40) Casimir’s inner thoughts: He’s so abrupt. I should teach him a lesson not to mess with me.

Line 41) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I am his boss after all. He should know not to talk to me like this.

Line 42) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I can fire that loser any second, and hire someone more cooperative.

Casimir feels bad for thinking that way.

Line 43) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Nah. Who am I kidding? He’s my best friend!

Casimir beams thinking about how appreciative he is of Yuvin.

Casimir gets ready for bed.

He just took a shower and is dressed in his silk pajamas, with a bonnet protecting his hair for when he sleeps.

Casimir goes out to the living room to check-up on Sotsona.

He notices her still slump and snoring loudly on the couch.

Line 44) Casimir’s inner thoughts: She’s so loud. Should I put a clip over her nose or something?

Casimir walks over to Sotsona and shakes her to the side.

She stops snoring after he does that and he walks away.

The moment he is inches away from his room, he hears her snoring again.

Line 45) Casimir’s inner thoughts: She’s still snoring? Does she have sleep apnea or something?

Line 46) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I should get her some help with that. It doesn’t sound healthy.

Casimir goes back to Sotsona and shakes her again.

She stops snoring and he goes back to his room right after.

Again, inches away from his room, he hears her snore again.

Being frustrated, Casimir drops his shoulders and sighs, giving up on stopping her snores.

Line 47) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I guess I have to wear ear plugs tonight. Or turn on some white noise.

Casimir goes to his room and lays in bed, putting his sleeping mask over his eyes to sleep.

February 22st 2024. The day is Thursday.

The next day goes by and Casimir wakes Sotsona up, who’s still passed out on his couch.

Casimir is shaking Sotsona awake, as he is already up and ready for the day.

Casimir

Line 48) Sotsona, wake up!

Casimir

Line 49) It’s literally noon and you’re still asleep!

Casimir

Line 50) I know you’re not dead because you’re snoring kept me up all night!

*Flashback to Casimir in his bed, staring at the ceiling in his room with bloodshot eyes because Sotsona’s snoring is keeping him up (this is an extra detail, not something explicitly written in the story).

Sotsona groans and rolls over to her side.

Casimir’s jaw drops and he looks offended.

He pulls out his phone and blares an alarm in her ear.

Sotsona jolts awake and stands up straight.

Casimir sighs in relief.

Casimir

Line 51) Do you know how cartoony what you just did now was?

Casimir sarcastically greets Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 52) Good morning, sunshine! How’d you sleep?

Sotsona squints her tired eyes at Casimir and her body folds, feeling lethargic.

She rubs her head, feeling a hangover coming in.

Sotsona

Line 53) Oh my gosh. I feel terrible.

Sotsona

Line 54) I feel so faint. I’m so light-headed.

Casimir

Line 55) It’s called, you’re hungover.

Sotsona

Line 56) Did I drink last night?

Casimir looks confused.

Casimir

Line 57) DID you?! You drank your A*S off last night.

Sotsona is shocked that Casimir is talking to her in this manner.

Casimir

Line 58) You probably don’t remember because you blacked out. But I DO!

Sotsona winces in pain from Casimir’s yelling.

Sotsona

Line 59) Can you not yell? It hurts my head.

Casimir responds sarcastically.

Casimir

Line 60) Spare me, your majesty.

Sotsona realizes something and bursts out in laughter.

Casimir is shocked at Sotsona’s response.

Casimir

Line 61) What the hell is so funny?

Sotsona crouches down and bobs her head from laughing.

Sotsona

Line 62) Ah. Don’t make me laugh. It hurts my head.

Sotsona continues to laugh and Casimir gives her a dull look.

Casimir

Line 63) You’re on thin ice right now.

Sotsona starts laughing even harder from Casimir saying that.

She smacks her knee and tears up.

She coughs a little and then settles down.

Sotsona smiles at Casimir.

Casimir gives her a dull look back.

Sotsona

Line 64) Yesterday, I was thinking about when you would finally quit this nice act and show me your true colors.

Sotsona

Line 65) And now that I’m seeing you getting mad at me in the flesh…

Sotsona

Line 66) I knew there was nobody in this world that wouldn’t be frustrated with me by now.

Sotsona

Line 67) It’s funny seeing you mad. If anyone is acting cartoony, it’s you.

Casimir rubs his head in distress.

Sotsona yawns and stretches her body.

Sotsona

Line 68) Why’d you wake me up?

Casimir looks shocked at Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 69) The day’s practically over since you’ve been sleeping in for all of it.

Casimir

Line 70) Go get ready. We have important things happening today.

Casimir cover his nose.

Casimir

Line 71) You also reek of alcohol. Take a shower.

Casimir

Line 72) Sober up. And then take your medicine if you still don’t feel well because of your cold.

Sotsona

Line 73) What important things will be happening?

Casimir

Line 74) I’ll tell you later. Just focus on getting ready.

Casimir

Line 75) Breakfast is ready too and all the clothes we bought yesterday shipped here this morning. I also put all the jewelry and cosmetics we bought in your bathroom earlier today.

Sotsona stands up and wobbles slightly from feeling dizzy.

Sotsona

Line 76) Oh, thanks. Okay. I’ll get ready.

Casimir gets up and goes to the kitchen.

Sotsona looks over at Casimir.

Sotsona

Line 77) I’m sorry if I was a hassle for you. I appreciate you helping me out.

Casimir blushes in an irritated way.

Sotsona gets ready for the day and sobers up in the shower.

She walks out all fresh from the shower in her pajamas and spots Casimir.

Casimir looks over at her.

Casimir

Line 78) We have a blow dryer.

Sotsona

Line 79) It’s fine. I’ll let my hair air dry.

Casimir

Line 80) How do you feel?

Sotsona

Line 81) I’m definitely not drunk anymore.

Sotsona rubs her head in pain.

Sotsona

Line 82) But I have a massive headache.

Casimir

Line 83) Do you still feel sick?

Sotsona

Line 84) I still slightly have a cold, but it’s not as severe as it was before.

Casimir

Line 85) I have some pain relievers. Just eat breakfast and then take some.

Sotsona

Line 86) So what’s the important thing that’s happening today? You’ve got me curious.

Casimir

Line 87) While you were passed out on the couch, snoring like crazy. My mom called me.

Casimir

Line 88) Long story short, I told her about us.

Casimir

Line 89) And she asked if she could meet you today.

Casimir

Line 90) There was no way to worm myself out of that situation. And you guys were bound to meet up some time soon. So I figured today would be the day.

Sotsona looks concerned.

Sotsona

Line 91) When is she coming?

Casimir

Line 92) You have enough time to prepare. She’ll be here by 6:00 PM.

Sotsona looks at Casimir nervously.

Sotsona

Line 93) Still I don’t know if I had enough time to practice approaching her.

Casimir

Line 94) Improvise. She didn’t sound too mad over the phone.

Casimir

Line 95) Oh, by the way. I have to give you something.

Casimir goes to the back of the kitchen and hands Sotsona a gift-bag and a bouquet of roses.

Sotsona shockingly looks at the presents Casimir just handed her.

Sotsona

Line 96) More presents? What is this for?

Sotsona sniffs the roses and opens the gift-bag to see a jewelry box.

Sotsona

Line 97) You bought me jewelry yesterday. What’s this for?

Casimir

Line 98) Those things, besides the engagement ring, are for everyday shenanigans. This is different.

Sotsona opens the jewelry box and sees a necklace.

The pendant is made of ruby stone into a heart with a gold chain hanging from it.

The stone glistens from the ceiling lights.

Sotsona looks at the necklace in shock.

Casimir

Line 99) Happy late Valentine's day, Sotsona.

Sotsona looks at Casimir in admiration and blushes from receiving the gift.

Casimir

Line 100) Let me put it on you.

Casimir sneaks behind Sotsona and closes the clasp of the necklace to fasten it on her.

He holds her hair while he puts the necklace on her.

Sotsona fiddles with the pendant from embarrassment while she is blushing like crazy.

Sotsona

Line 101) It’s beautiful. Thank you.

Casimir smiles at her.

Casimir

Line 102) I’m glad you like it.

Sotsona

Line 103) Do you have a vase to put these roses in?

Casimir

Line 104) Of course. I can get them prepped in some water.

Casimir

Line 105) In the meantime. Eat your breakfast, take your pills and then organize the clothes that came in the mail into your closet.

Casimir

Line 106) I have a bunch of hangers you can use to hang things up.

Casimir

Line 107) I have nothing better to do, so I might as well help you organize everything too.

Casimir

Line 108) Where do you want the flowers to go?

Sotsona smiles at Casimir.

Sotsona

Line 109) We should put them at the center of the dining table.

End of episode.
