Hopelessly Yours by Yosh Episode 20

Sotsona gets drunk off of the shochu that he ordered Sotsona at the Japanese restaurant they're eating at. How does he deal with her and what happens next?

Episode 20:

February 21st 2024. The day is Wednesday. 

Sotsona gets drunk off of the Shochu that Casimir eventually ordered her from the Japanese restaurant they decided to eat at after shopping around the mall.

She is laying her forehead on the table with flushed skin and dangling arms.

Casimir rubs his head in disappointment realizing he should’ve set his foot down about not letting her drink.

Line 1) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I knew this wouldn’t end well.

Line 2) Casimir’s inner thoughts: She’s gone tipsy. How am I gonna deal with that?

Line 3) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I understand she wanted to lay back for a bit to escape her problems…

Line 4) Casimir’s inner thoughts: But, she drank so much. It was truly overkill.

*We get a flashback of Sotsona pouring shot after shot of the Shochu (this is an extra detail that isn’t explicitly written in the story).

Line 5) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I’m a bit concerned about her health.

Line 6) Casimir’s inner thoughts: She drank an awful lot of Shochu. Will she be alright?

Line 7) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Alcohol poisoning is no joke. What if her body isn’t reacting well?

Casimir

Line 8) Sotsona? Are you still alive?

Sotsona groans.

Casimir gets hit with a wave of relief.

Line 9) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Good. She’s responding. She’ll be fine. No need to overreact.

Casimir

Line 10) Are you sleepy? If so, why don’t we head on home then?

Sotsona mumbles.

Sotsona

Line 11) … One more shot.

Casimir’s eyebrows twitch in an irritated way.

Casimir

Line 12) I heard that. No more drinking Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 13) You had more than enough. I won’t let you drink anymore.

Sotsona glances at Casimir and her vision is blurry and woozy.

Sotsona

Line 14) Hey! I can hold my liquor.

Casimir

Line 15) No you can’t. You immediately got drunk within a few shots, but kept on persisting regardless.

Casimir

Line 16) It’s obvious the repercussions have settled into you. You’re not thinking straight.

Casimir stands up from his seat at the table.

Casimir

Line 17) Come on. I’m sure you’re not that heavy to hold.

Casimir

Line 18) I’ve already paid our bill. It’s time we go.

Sotsona groans and sets her head on the table again face down.

Casimir rubs her head.

Casimir

Line 19) Don’t make this more difficult than it already is.

Casimir

Line 20) Just get up. You’ll be in my car in no time.

Casimir

Line 21) Don’t make me drag you there.

Sotsona groans.

Casimir

Line 22) Are you feeling sick again? All you said was that your throat hurts a bit this morning.

Casimir

Line 23) Maybe you’re feeling sick as in you’re nauseous?

Sotsona continues whining.

Casimir

Line 24) If that’s the case, we better get to my car quickly.

Casimir grabs Sotsona’s arm and pulls it over his shoulder.

He grabs her waist and tries to make her stand up.

When his hand sneaks behind her waist she worms out of his embrace and giggles.

Casimir is in shock seeing how uncooperative Sotsona is behaving.

Casimir

Line 25) Are you seriously laughing right now?

Sotsona gives Casimir a silly face.

Sotsona

Line 26) You tickled me.

Casimir

Line 27) Not intentionally. I was just trying to get you upright.

Sotsona

Line 28) But you held my waist.

Casimir

Line 29) Well I had to hold onto something to get you up.

Sotsona continues to laugh.

Sotsona

Line 30) I see what you were trying to do there.

Sotsona

Line 31) Did you think that was a slick move?

Sotsona points her finger at Casimir to tease him.

Sotsona

Line 32) I caught you.

Casimir looks genuinely confused at Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 33) … Okay. Can we just get out of here?

Casimir

Line 34) Are you able to stand up on your own?

Sotsona stands up abruptly and wobbles.

Sotsona

Line 35) Let’s go then. Since you want to be a party pooper and ruin the fun.

Sotsona heads for the exit of the restaurant and Casimir follows her.

Casimir

Line 36) Hey! Don’t walk off like that.

Casimir

Line 37) I could lose you if you wander off.

Casimir

Line 38) Walk beside me, so that I can see you and lead the way at the same time.

Sotsona sassily waits for Casimir to catch up to her.

When he finally reaches her, she leans on him.

Casimir is confused as to why Sotsona is acting like this.

Casimir

Line 39) What’s this? Why are you doing this?

Sotsona

Line 40) I feel dizzy.

Casimir

Line 41) No s**t, Sh3rl0ck! You’re drunk!

Sotsona

Line 42) So, HELP me!

Casimir

Line 43) I offered to help you over there.

Sotsona groans and whines.

Casimir clicks his tongue in frustration.

Casimir

Line 44) You’re acting like a kid.

Casimir

Line 45) Remind me to never get you drunk again.

Sotsona grabs Casimir’s arm and they head to the valet parking of the mall.

She leans on him heavily and wobbles the entire way there, groaning every now and then.

Casimir leads the way to the valet parking and the receptionist sees him.

Casimir

Line 46) I’m the guy that owns that green car you saw earlier.

The receptionist looks at Casimir noticing how drunk Sotsona looks beside him.

Receptionist

Line 47) I see your hands are full.

Casimir nods his head in frustration.

The receptionist pulls Casimir’s car over.

Casimir

Line 48) I think it’s best if you sit at the back of the car, Sotsona.

Casimir

Line 49) Since you’re being lousy, you might distract me when I drive.

Casimir

Line 50) It seemed hard to pick your head up earlier, so lay down at the back and relax.

Sotsona groans.

Casimir opens the back seat doors of his car.

Casimir

Line 51) Alright. Get in now.

Sotsona looks at Casimir in a way for him to put her in instead of doing it herself.

Casimir

Line 52) What? You want me to put you in?

Casimir rolls his eyes and struggles to get Sotsona’s tall frame  into the car.

After he attempts to put her in and buckles her up, he catches his breath.

Casimir

Line 53) Are you okay?

Sotsona groans a yes and lays down on the back seats.

Casimir gets into the driver's seat and places the jewelry and makeup bags in the passenger seat, then shuts the door.

Casimir drives all the way to his pent-house and Sotsona starts groaning some more.

Casimir

Line 54) What’s wrong with you?

Sotsona replies back lethargically.

Sotsona

Line 55) I don’t feel good.

Casimir can’t help but slightly laugh.

Casimir

Line 56) And who’s fault is that?

Sotsona groans.

Casimir

Line 57) Hang tight just a little longer. We’re almost there.

Sotsona whines.

Sotsona

Line 58) There’s something you should know.

Casimir’s ears perk in interest to what Sotsona is about to say.

Casimir

Line 59) What’s up? 

Sotsona

Line 60) Me staying over at your place, started Monday, right?

Casimir thinks about what Sotsona just said and verifies that the information is right by nodding his head.

Casimir

Line 61) That’s right. I remember because Monday was President's day and I picked you up because of the blizzard.

Sotsona

Line 62) And now today is Wednesday.

Sotsona

Line 63) Well, actually today is practically over.

Casimir

Line 64) That’s all correct. So, what’s your point?

Sotsona

Line 65) Think intently about the logicality of what’s happened these past few days.

Sotsona

Line 66) I stayed over at your place, with no belongings of my own besides my work uniform, jacket and shoes.

Casimir snaps his fingers in realization.

Casimir

Line 67) That’s why we went shopping today.

Sotsona frustratingly responds.

Sotsona

Line 68) Yeah. And you bought me a bunch of unnecessary things.

Casimir reacts offendedly.

Sotsona

Line 69) But, you know what I DO need?

Casimir listens attentively.

Sotsona

Line 70) Underwear! I NEED underwear!

Casimir looks flustered.

Sotsona

Line 71) Did you ever stop to think that, “Hey Sotsona’s staying over at my place, I may as well get her the things she REALLY needs”?!

Sotsona

Line 72) But, you didn’t even think about the fact that I’ve been wearing the same clothes, underwear and socks for 3 days straight?!

Sotsona calms down and leans her head on the window of his car.

Casimir drives in embarrassment while looking immensely flustered.

A couple of silent moments pass by.

Casimir

Line 73) Y-You’re right. But, excuse me for not having my mind in the gutter.

Sotsona

Line 74) There’s no gutter. It’s essential. Everyone uses it everyday.

Casimir pulls over his car.

Sotsona

Line 75) Why did you stop driving?

Casimir

Line 76) I wish you would have mentioned this earlier when we were at the mall, cause then I could’ve bought you some quality under garments.

Casimir

Line 77) But, since this is an urgent matter, I have no choice. 

Casimir hesitates before asking his question.

Casimir

Line 78) What size are you?

Sotsona connects Casimir’s dots.

Sotsona

Line 79) Did you pull over at a store?

Casimir doesn’t make eye contact with Sotsona.

Sotsona

Line 80) Uh. I’m a size large, I think.

Sotsona proudly responds.

Sotsona

Line 81) I know. I kind of have a big butt, don’t I?

Casimir rolls his eyes.

Sotsona

Line 82) Can you get me some socks too?

Casimir looks at Sotsona in frustration.

Casimir

Line 83) Do you want to throw a bra in there too?

Sotsona

Line 84) Actually, yes please.

Casimir

Line 85) What’s your size?

Sotsona

Line 86) Just get me a pack of sports bras in a large size. That should do the trick. Thanks.

Casimir exits the car to go into the store.

When Casimir enters the store he heads to the feminine sections of the store.

Line 87) Casimir’s inner thoughts: It feels so wrong to even be here.

Casimir finds the underwear, socks, and bras, then puts them in his basket.

A thought dawns on him.

Line 88) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Wait. Come to think of it. Since Sotsona’s my official roommate, she’ll be living with me for who knows how long.

Line 89) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I don’t have any feminine hygiene products at my place.

Line 90) Casimir’s inner thoughts: While I’m here it’s best we stock up. Better safe than sorry.

Casimir makes his way to that section and browses the feminine period products.

He’s stumped on which ones to pick for Sotsona.

Line 91) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Why are there so many options?

Casimir looks to his side and sees a lady picking some for herself.

Casimir

Line 92) Excuse me. If you don’t mind me asking. Which ones should I get?

The lady hears Casimir asking and smiles empathetically.

Lady

Line 93) Aww. Are you buying for your girlfriend? 

Line 94) Casimir’s inner thoughts: Oh. Is Sotsona considered my girlfriend?

Line 95) Casimir’s inner thoughts: On paper we’re fiances at the moment.

Line 96) Casimir’s inner thoughts: I feel like if this lady asked Sotsona this question about me, she would say no.

Casimir

Line 97) U-Uh. She’s my… Friend.

Casimir

Line 98) I’m overwhelmed with the amount of options. Do you know which ones are best?

Lady

Line 99) I would choose tampons, but that’s not for everyone, so I think you should get pads.

Lady

Line 100) I recommend getting the thickest size since I don’t know her flow.

The lady picks out a certain brand and size of pads and hands them to Casimir.

Lady

Line 101) I like this brand best.

Casimir sighs in relief from receiving help from this stranger.

Casimir

Line 102) I can’t thank you enough.

Casimir

Line 103) What can I do to repay you?

Lady

Line 104) Nothing. It was my pleasure to help you.

Casimir

Line 105) No. I insist.

Casimir looks at the lady’s cart.

Casimir

Line 106) Let me pay for your groceries.

The lady looks shocked at Casimir’s offer.

Lady

Line 107) You would do that for me? I couldn’t possibly let you.

Casimir

Line 108) No, please let me. I would like to repay you the favor.

The lady feels grateful for Casimir’s offer.

They go to the checkout and get their items registered.
