In Another Lifetime By Yosh Episode 38A Chapter by Yosh Marvin takes Calista to the aquarium as he planned for them to go on a secret date without Calista blatantly knowing that Marvin has those intentions.

Calista is narrating while Marvin drives the car to the aquarium. She gets a bit flustered as she sees him drive (she finds it attractive). Calista’s narration: Line 1) Why did Marvin agree so easily to go out somewhere with me? Line 2) The Marvin I thought I knew, would refuse since Talulla’s sick. Line 3) He wouldn’t want Talulla to feel left out. Line 4) So, why did he agree? Line 5) Since he agreed. It’s obviously making me assume he has other intentions. Line 6) Or do I only feel that way because I like him? Line 7) Ever since I became aware of how I felt about Marvin. Line 8) I’ve been a bit on edge on how to act around him. Line 9) All his friendly gestures are blown out of proportion to me. Line 10) I thought this was just a silly crush. Line 11) But, has it really almost been 2 months? Marvin looks at Calista as she looks at him while she is narrating. She turns her face to the window. Marvin Line 12) Something on my face? Calista blushes. Calista Line 13) Uh. No. Sorry. Marvin Line 14) Don’t be sorry. You were just looking at me. It’s no big deal. Calista Line 15) I-I didn’t mean to. Calista is embarrassed. Marvin Line 16) I’m just teasing you. Marvin Line 17) You’re offly quiet. What’s up? Line 18) Calista: I’m offly quiet because he’s making me feel flustered. Calista Line 19) Nothing. Just keeping to myself. Marvin Line 20) Don’t keep to yourself. I want you to talk to me. Marvin Line 21) Are we even friends anymore? It’s like you never want to talk to me. Line 22) Calista: That’s because I LIKE YOUUUUUU! Calista Line 23) What do you mean by that? Of course we’re friends. Calista Line 24) Do you not feel that way? Marvin Line 25) To be honest. Not really. Marvin Line 26) I feel like I’m friends with you. But you’re not friends with me. Marvin Line 27) But don’t worry about it. I’m just saying whatevers off the top of my head, just because I’m comfortable around you. Marvin Line 28) Hopefully you don’t take it personally. I'm just being dramatic in a sarcastic way. Marvin Line 29) But, on a more serious note. I’m glad we can have some time alone, so we can rekindle our friendship. Calista’s narration: Line 30) So, that’s what this is all about. Line 31) He just wanted to hang out with me alone, because he feels like we're drifting apart as friends. Calista smacks her forehead. Marvin Line 32) What was that for? Don’t take it personally. I said I was just being dramatic. Calista Line 33) It’s not that. I’m just realizing something. That’s all. Calista Line 34) I’m sorry I caused you to feel that way. Calista Line 35) Just as you want to be close to me, I want to be close to you. Calista Line 36) I’ll try to be better from now on. Calista Line 37) I want you to know that our friendship is important to me. Marvin smiles. Marvin Line 38) Thanks. That makes me feel better. They talk some more and arrive at the aquarium. They walk in and get their wrist-bands. They get a map of the aquarium and look at it. Marvin Line 39) Anywhere you’d like to go first? Calista points to a part of the map. Calista Line 40) Let’s see the otters. They walk to the otters exhibit and see them. Calista and Marvin are in awe. Calista Line 41) They’re so cute! Marvin Line 42) They really are adorable. The otters swim around in the enclosure and do some tricks. Calista films it on her phone. They look at some cool fish in another exhibit. Calista Line 43) Look, Marvin. It’s a puffer fish. Marvin Line 44) Aww, what a cutie. Calista Line 45) I want to poke it. Marvin Line 46) But then it’ll get all bloated. They walk into another exhibit. This one features deep sea creatures like sharks. Marvin Line 47) Are you afraid of sharks? Calista Line 48) I think they’re cute. But, there’s a lot of people who are scared of them. Marvin Line 49) If I saw one in some water. I’d freak out. Calista Line 50) That would only make them more defensive. It’s a survival instinct to attack when they sense fear. Calista Line 51) It’s ironic that you’re scared of sharks. But, you can watch horror movies with ease. Marvin Line 52) Are you still on about that? Calista nods her head. They head to the jellyfish section and observe them there. Marvin Line 53) They’re so mysterious. Right? Calista Line 54) Yeah. It’s crazy they exist. It’s like they’re an alien of some sort. Marvin Line 55) No heart. Or brain. But they still have consciousness. Calista Line 56) Oh, to be a jellyfish and float around all day. They have it so easy. Marvin smiles. Calista looks at Marvin as he looks in fascination at the jellyfish. Line 57) Calista: He’s so pure. It’s endearing. Calista blushes. They go to the turtle exhibit. The penguins exhibit. And see beluga whales. Then they see bunnies, and reptiles like snakes. Marvin Line 58) I thought this was an aquarium. What are these guys doing here? Calista Line 59) I was thinking the same exact thing. Marvin Line 60) Don’t you think it’s dangerous for a bunny to be placed beside a snake? Calista Line 61) It’s a bit of a strange placement. But what if they’re friends? Marvin Line 62) Heh. I bet they are. Calista’s narration: Line 63) Even if they’re so different. Line 64) They still share that bond of curiosity and interest. *Metaphor of Calista and Marvin. Calista stares at Marvin. Marvin catches her gaze. Marvin Line 65) Are you feeling hungry? They go to the candle-lit restaurant for dinner. And are sat at a table. Calista Line 66) I didn’t even know they had a place like this here. Calista Line 67) It just seems a bit off-theme. Calista Line 68) Wouldn’t it be a shame if we ordered seafood? Marvin Line 69) It’s anticlimactic that they sell it here. Calista laughs. They order drinks and some food. Calista Line 70) So, do you think our relationship has been rekindled after our day of exploring here? Marvin Line 71) I don’t think it’s fully rekindled. But we’re staring off somewhere. Calista Line 72) Well, then let me push harder. Ask me some questions. Marvin Line 73) What’s your dream? Calista Line 74) What a serious question. I haven’t thought about my dreams in a while. Calista Line 75) I guess my dream is to live it up. Calista Line 76) I’ve spent such a long time in my life trying to find out what my purpose was. Calista Line 77) But, then I realized I didn’t have to have one to gain something. Calista Line 78) I’m just a human-being that was put on this planet. Just like everybody else. Calista Line 79) We don’t have to add meaning to everything. Sometimes the whole point is to just experience it. Calista Line 80) All I want to experience everything to the fullest. Calista Line 81) I feel it in my soul that it’s what I’m supposed to do with my life. Calista Line 82) So, I guess you can call that my dream. Calista Line 83) What’s yours? Marvin Line 84) My dream… Is to learn more about things. Calista Line 85) What do you mean? Like to be all knowing? Marvin Line 86) To elaborate. I mean I want to learn more about things by being involved in them. Marvin Line 87) For example, if I wanted to learn more about a person. I’d want to involve myself with them and experiment what it’s like to be with them. Marvin Line 88) Same could be said for anything. It doesn’t have to be just people. Marvin Line 89) Basically, what I’m trying to say is I want to experience things like you too. Marvin Line 90) I just wanted to explain more instead of agreeing so that it would have the last word. Calista laughs. Calista Line 91) So, we have the same dreams. Marvin Line 92) Yes ma’am. Listen, I hope your dreams come true. Calista Line 93) And I hope yours comes true as well. They clink their cups and finish their dinner. They head to the gift shop and browse around. Line 94) Calista: I want to get Talulla something, but everything here is so pricey for no reason. Calista spots a stuffed animal shark. Calista Line 95) Aww. This is so cute. Marvin, come check it out. Calista Line 96) Do you think Talulla would like it? Marvin Line 97) She’d love it. Calista buys it along with a few magnets. They head out to the car. Calista Line 98) Did you find anything you liked? Marvin Line 99) Not really. But that’s okay. They head into the car and start driving. Marvin Line 100) Did you have a good time? Calista Line 101) I had a great time with you, Marvin. Thank you for today. Marvin smiles. Marvin’s narration: Line 102) Going into this date, I felt melancholy. Thinking I knew the way it would end out. Line 103) But, today I focused on Calista and trying to get closer with her. Line 104) Therefore, I distracted myself from wondering if I’m in love with her. Line 105) And as much as I shouldn’t be feeling relieved about this. I am. Line 106) I want to admire her in the now. I just can’t get enough of her. *Flashback to when Marvin looked at Calista as they were looking at fish. Line 107) This situation is already hard enough because I’m attached.
