Episode 6:

February 18th 2024. It is a Sunday.

*We are in a flashback scene to when Sotsona used to work at a salon and notices Adair hair products as she stocks up on hair items.

Line 1) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Adair sounds like a made up name. But, I guess unique names like this sell.

Her fellow associate notices her holding the bottle, being stumped looking at it.

Worker

Line 2) You’re looking at that bottle intently. Is something wrong?

Sotsona flinches from being caught off-guard.

Sotsona

Line 3) Oh. Nothing’s wrong, I’m just unfamiliar with this brand.

The worker looks at Sotsona in shock.

Worker

Line 4) How can you work here and be unfamiliar with this brand?

Sotsona

Line 5) I’m still new. Cut me some slack.

The worker laughs.

Worker

Line 6) You’re so amusing.

Worker

Line 7) I guarantee you that if I go out on the streets and ask people about this hair product. They would easily be able to know it.

Worker

Line 8) That bottle you’re holding is worth $200.

Sotsona’s jaw drops.

The worker picks up her jaw for her.

Worker

Line 9) What? Did you think you were working at some sort of shabby salon?

Worker

Line 10) Heck no. We store the best products and give the best hair makeovers.

Sotsona

Line 11) B-B-But $200, for a bottle of shampoo that won’t even last someone 2 months?

Worker

Line 12) First of all. This should last you longer than 2 months.

Worker

Line 13) You should only be using a dime of shampoo for a full head of hair. I’m disappointed. Don’t you know better from working here?

Worker

Line 14) And second of all, the product is fairly priced.

Worker

Line 15) The founder has come out saying that she only uses organic and natural ingredients shipped from other countries into her products.

Worker

Line 16) Not only does this company have products for any hair type…

Worker

Line 17) Many studies have shown its benefits on people's hair.

Worker

Line 18) It also doesn’t contain any harmful industrial ingredients like silicones and sulfates.

Worker

Line 19) And the brand is cruelty free and vegan.

Worker

Line 20) It’s also been certified to be ethically sourced and manufactured.

Worker

Line 21) So, don’t judge it. A lot of work goes into making this.

Sotsona looks shocked by the amount of facts this worker knows.

Sotsona

Line 22) And how do you know so much about this?

The worker looks offended.

Worker

Line 23) Anyone in the hair industry knows about his household name.

Worker

Line 24) If you ask me, you’re the odd one out for not knowing anything.

Worker

Line 25) I look up to Zephryn Adair a lot.

Sotsona

Line 26) Who’s that?

The worker flicks Sotsona’s head.

Worker

Line 27) It’s the owner. Can’t you connect the dots?

Sotsona rubs her forehead.

Sotsona

Line 28) Jeez. I didn’t think you’d get this offended from me making a simple mistake.

Worker

Line 29) Put some respect on her name. She inspires me a lot.

Worker

Line 30) She was able to build her business from the ground up.

Worker

Line 31) And now it’s one of the most iconic brands in the world.

Worker

Line 32) I would do anything to meet her in real life.

Sotsona zones out as she remembers this memory while talking to Casimir.

Casimir

Line 33) Did you figure it out yet?

Sotsona snaps back into reality.

Sotsona

Line 34) Yeah. I remember. I’m assuming it’s your mother’s company, right? Someone named Zephryn Adair?

Casimir looks shocked.

Casimir

Line 35) Wow, you really do remember.

He mumbles under his breath.

Casimir

Line 36) How much do you know about us?

Sotsona doesn’t catch what he says.

Sotsona

Line 37) What’d you say? I couldn’t hear anything.

Casimir is caught off-guard.

Casimir

Line 38) Ahh. Let’s switch the topic. I wouldn’t want to bore with business shenanigans.

Sotsona is weirded out by the way Casimir is interacting with Sotsona.

Casimir struggles to come up with something to say.

Casimir

Line 39) I-Is there anything you’d like to ask me?

Sotsona

Line 40) Yeah. I have loads of things.

Casimir

Line 41) Let’s hear it.

Sotsona

Line 42) Excuse my blunt tone. But, if you’re so rich, why’d you come to our restaurant yesterday?

Casimir is caught off-guard with that question.

Casimir

Line 43) I don’t get what you mean. Are there certain restrictions for places I can and can’t go?

Sotsona

Line 44) That’s not what I meant. It’s just confusing as to why you would eat at a place like that, when your mother owns a prestigious company? Aren’t you some sort of trust-fund baby?

Casimir

Line 45) Sure, I won’t deny that I’m a trust-fund baby, But, just because I’m an heir to a successful company, doesn’t mean I eat caviar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Sotsona looks at Casimir in confusion.

Line 46) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: What? Rich people don’t do that?

Casimir

Line 47) I like to eat wherever I want and this place just so happened to catch my eye. That’s all.

Sotsona

Line 48) I see… I guess.

Casimir

Line 49) If you were in my shoes. Would you want to eat expensive things all day?

Sotsona

Line 50) Without any hesitation. If I can afford it. Why not? I’d splurge all I want.

Casimir

Line 51) Trust me, stuff like that is only fun for a short amount of time. After that time runs out, you’ll get bored.

Line 52) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Wow. This guy's kind of a rich b*****d.

Line 53) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Despite being able to afford any food he wants, he says that extravagant living will eventually bore you out.

Line 54) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: That’s so hard to believe. Who would waste their potential like that?

Sotsona’s narration:

Line 55) I know that if I were in his shoes.

Line 56) I’d live my life with no barriers.

Line 57) Eat whatever I want.

Line 58) Do whatever I want.

Line 59) Go wherever I want.

Line 60) Sleep whenever I want.

Line 61) There’s no limit to what his life can bring to him.

Line 62) To think that he would waste his time eating at a shabby restaurant like the place I work at…

Line 63) It makes me mad. I wish I were him.

Line 64) It’s so unfair that he’s using his position wrongly.

Line 65) I’d live like royalty if I was as blessed as him.

Line 66) Why are things so out of reach for me?

Casimir notices Sotsona feeling down.

Casimir

Line 67) Are you okay?

Sotsona is caught off guard and replies in a monotone voice.

Sotsona

Line 68) Why do you ask? I’m fine.

Casimir

Line 69) It’s just your face.

Sotsona

Line 70) What about my face?

Casimir

Line 71) I could be wrong. But you looked disgusted for a bit.

Line 72) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Oh. I didn’t think he would catch on to that.

Sotsona pinches her arm without Casimir noticing.

Line 73) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I should watch myself.

Sotsona

Line 74) I’m fine. Sorry. Let’s continue.

Casimir

Line 75) Is there anything else you’d like to ask me?

Sotsona

Line 76) Another blunt one, but why did you ask me out?

Casimir

Line 77) I already told you.

*We get a flashback to when Casimir was complimenting Sotsona (refer back to episode 3).

Casimir

Line 78) I said that your passion for your job made me admire your hard work.

Casimir

Line 79) And that you were pretty.

Casimir realizes he referred to that in past-tense.

Casimir

Line 80) Not that I’m saying you’re not pretty anymore!

He panics trying to come up with something to clarify the misunderstanding.

Casimir

Line 81) Ahh, what am I saying? Let me rephrase. You’re beautiful and that caught my eye.

Sotsona looks at Casimir again with a disgusted face.

Casimir notices.

Casimir

Line 82) You’re making the face again. Did I say something wrong?

Casimir realizes his mistake again.

Casimir

Line 83) Oh, right. I should’ve known saying something like that would make you feel uncomfortable. I’m sorry.

Line 84) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: What’s with this guy?

Line 85) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: From our first impression he seemed like such a cool, high status dignified gentleman.

Line 86) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: His demeanor was smooth and eloquent.

Line 87) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: But now, it’s like all of that went down the drain.

Line 88) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: He’s stuttering all over the place and keeps reassuring himself in front of me.

Line 89) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: From the get go I thought he’d be experienced in something like this.

Line 90) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: But he’s acting so jumpy and awkward.

Line 91) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Like some sort of teenager around their crush.

Casimir

Line 92) Don’t those reasons sound valid for me to ask you out?

Sotsona

Line 93) I guess to you they are, but to me…

Sotsona

Line 94) I just didn’t think it would be that easy to sweep a guy off his feet.

Sotsona is shocked by her own words.

Line 95) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I-I can’t believe I said that outloud.

Line 96) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: But, I guess I could really sweep him off his feet.

Sotsona imagines herself doing that.

She tries to gather her wits.

Line 97) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Why do I keep slipping up in front of this guy?

Line 98) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I need to tone myself down. I’m coming off cold.

Line 99) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I don’t want him to think I’m some sort of rude chick.

Casimir laughs.

Casimir

Line 100) You’re thinking seriously about the situation. It’s not like I got on one knee and asked you to marry me.

Casimir

Line 101) Your vibes attracted me. As a result, I am deciding to get to know you better by pursuing you further.

Casimir

Line 102) That’s why I asked you out on a date. Nothing’s official yet, so don’t feel pressured.

Line 103) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I don’t feel pressured. I’m just questioning his motives.

Line 104) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: But, from the way he’s talking, I’ll admit he DOES sound more experienced than me.

Line 105) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: It’s irking me the wrong way. But, I can’t show it.

Line 106) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Say something. Say anything.

Sotsona awkwardly responds.

Sotsona

Line 107) What if you did get down on one knee and asked me to marry you?

Casimir is caught off-guard.

Casimir

Line 108) What? That’s crazy.

Casimir

Line 109) How did you read my mind?

Sotsona looks at Casimir in shock.

End of episode.
