Hopelessly Yours by Yosh Episode 3

Sotsona continues giving the rich men good service. While she works, after the men ask for the bill, they abruptly leave, and Sotsona is confused who helped them handle the bill and what they left.

Episode 3:

February 17th 2024. It is a Saturday.

Sotsona makes her way over to the rich customers’ table.

Line 1) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Here goes nothing.

Sotsona

Line 2) I have your drinks.

She does a cool trick when she puts the plate of drinks over her head and twists her arm at the same time.

Sotsona

Line 3) Drinks from the bar for two!

The men are fascinated by her trick.

She twists her arm back out and puts the drinks on some coasters.

The men applaud her for her skills.

She accepts the praise, but is all nervous on the inside.

Line 4) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Why did I do something that bold? That was way too risky.

Line 5) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I guess I kind of DO want to impress these guys.

Line 6) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Who knows, maybe one of them is a critic. 

Line 7) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I have to give them a good impression. The restaurant's reputation is on the line.

Sotsona

Line 8) Are you guys ready to order your main courses? Or do you need more time?

The men smile at Sotsona.

Guy 1

Line 9) We’re ready to order.

Sotsona takes out her notepad and gets ready to jot down their orders.

Guy 1

Line 10) I’ll take the porterhouse steak, please.

Sotsona

Line 11) That comes with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Would you like to change that?

Guy 1

Line 12) You can keep that as it is.

The guy smiles at Sotsona.

Sotsona

Line 13) Alright. And what would you like, sir?

Guy 2

Line 14) I would like to order the scallop pasta, please.

Sotsona finishes writing their notes on her notepad.

Sotsona

Line 15) Alright. Those are some excellent choices, gentlemen.

Line 16) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: More like the most expensive meals in this restaurant.

Sotsona

Line 17) I’ll be back with your meals shortly.

Guy 1 and 2

Line 18) Thank you.

Sotsona goes to the kitchen and gets their food ordered.

While she waits she assists the other customers.

Finally she goes back into the kitchen to serve the meals the men ordered.

She walks out and goes to their table.

Line 19) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: You’re doing well so far. Just don’t slip.

She makes it to their table, relieved to not have slipped in front of them.

Sotsona

Line 20) I have your meals hot and ready for the both of you to eat.

She places the meals on their table.

Sotsona

Line 21) Would you like me to get you a refill on the drinks?

Guy 1

Line 22) Just some water is fine. Thanks.

Sotsona

Line 23) Alright. I’ll get your guys water. 

Sotsona

Line 24) Enjoy your meals.

Sotsona gets some water for them and refills their cups.

She goes on to serve other customers.

Line 25) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I don’t get why the hostess was making such a big deal out of those rich guys.

Line 26) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: They just seem like regular customers. Nothing special has happened yet.

Sotsona glances at the men at the table.

One of them signals to get the bill.

Sotsona comprehends and brings them the bill.

After leaving the bill on their table she continues to work.

After getting so caught up working, she looks over at their table to see that they have already left.

Line 27) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Oh no. Did they get their cards to finalize the payments yet?

Line 28) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I was so caught up serving the other customers that I didn’t even realize they had left.

Line 29) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Who picked up the bill for their table?

Another waitress that works at the same restaurant gets Sotsona’s attention by tapping her shoulder.

Sotsona

Line 30) Hey. Do you know anything about the guys that just left-

The waitress hands over a check to Sostona.

Sotsona is heavily confused.

Sotsona

Line 31) What’s this?

The waitress smirks and walks off.

Waitress

Line 32) You better split some with me. In the end, I picked up their bill.

Sotsona

Line 33) What are you talking about?

Sotsona looks at the check and her eyes hesitantly skim the price section.

She gasps as she sees the men tipped her 1,000 dollars.

Sotsona

Line 34) D-Did they just leave?!

The waitress turns back around.

Waitress

Line 35) What are you planning to do?

Sotsona takes the waitress’ response as a yes and speed walks to the exit of the restaurant.

Waitress

Line 36) Where are you going?!

Sotsona

Line 37) This isn’t right.

Waitress

Line 38) What about the money you owe me?!

Sotsona swiftly walks away and passes the hostess.

Hostess

Line 39) Hey, Sotsona. Where are you going?

Line 40) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: By dropping fat checks, I didn’t think THIS is what the hostess was talking about.

Line 41) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: It won’t be right for me to accept this.

Sotsona goes outside and immediately searches for the men.

Line 42) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I need to look for a nice car. Something expensive looking.

Sotsona’s eyes go wide as she recognizes a luxurious vehicle.

She sees one of the guys about to enter the car.

Sotsona

Line 43) HEY! WAIT!

The guys spots Sotsona and waits until she approaches him.

He is a lot shorter than her now that they’re standing next to each other.

She lowers her head to have her eyes meet his.

Guy 1

Line 44) Is there a problem?

Sotsona

Line 45) I-It’s not like that.

Sotsona

Line 46) Just hear me out.

Sotsona

Line 47) I know this may make me sound ungrateful, but I cannot accept this check at all.

Sotsona extends her arm for the guy to take the check back.

The guys laughs.

Sotsona looks at him in confusion.

Guy 1

Line 48) Did you come all the way out here just for that?

Sotsona

Line 49) Yes, I’m sorry. I’m sure you have somewhere else you have to be. Please excuse this hold up.

Sotsona

Line 50) But, I really can’t accept this tip. I really appreciate your consideration, though.

The guys laughs again.

Guy 1

Line 51) Why can’t you accept it? Your service compensates.

Sotsona

Line 52) I’d have to disagree with you on that.

Sotsona

Line 53) Please just take the tip back.

Sotsona

Line 54) I won’t feel good about accepting it.

The guy sighs and hesitantly accepts the tip.

Guy 1

Line 55) You bummed me out.

Sotsona

Line 56) I’m sorry I hurt your feelings.

Guy 1

Line 57) Would you like to make it up to me?

Sotsona is caught off-guard with that response.

Sotsona

Line 58) I-I’m sorry. W-What?

Guy 1

Line 59) I’m giving you a chance to make it up to me.

Sostona is dumbfounded by that response.

Sotsona

Line 60) … And how would I be able to do that?

Guy 1

Line 61) How about going on a date with me?

Sotsona is caught even more off-guard with what the guy asked.

Sotsona

Line 62) P-Pardon?

Guy 1) 

Line 63) I said what I said. Go on a date with me. I’ll take you somewhere a lot classier than where you work.

Sotsona freezes not knowing what to say.

Line 64) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Why is he asking me out?!

Line 65) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Out of all people. ME?!

*Sotsona gets a flashback to when the hostess said that seducing is basically what they were trying to do when she served the men.

Line 66) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: No… That can’t be. Is it really that simple?!

Line 67) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Based on looks, I stoop below average.

Line 68) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: There’s no way some lipstick and hair ruffling really worked on this guy?

After some silence, Sotsona finally responds.

Sotsona

Line 69) Why…? Why would you want to take ME out on a date?

The guy is caught off-guard.

Guy 1

Line 70) Well, you made a good impression on me.

Guy 1

Line 71) The fire in your eyes as you served.

Guy 1

Line 72) I can tell you care about doing your best job as you work.

Guy 1

Line 73) You’re passionate and dedicated. I find that very admirable.

Line 74) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: This guys got it all wrong. How did he come to that conclusion after I did a mediocre job at serving him?

The guys slightly blushes.

Guy 1

Line 75) I-I also think you’re gorgeous.

Sotsona is caught off-guard.

Line 76) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: WHAT?! This guy must be out of his mind! There’s no way he finds me gorgeous?!

Line 77) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: So, all those seducing tactics were actually true?

Line 78) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Think Sotsona. He was “wowed” by your serving skills.

Line 79) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Gave you a hefty tip.

Line 80) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: And now wants to take you out to dinner.

Line 81) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: All of this seems way too fishy.

Sotsona

Line 82) I-I’m flattered. Really.

Sotsona

Line 83) But, I’ll have to politely decline.

Sotsona

Line 84) I’m sorry I made you get the wrong idea.

The man disappointingly sighs.

Guy 1

Line 85) Don’t worry about it. I’ll survive.

Sotsona awkwardly stands next to him.

Sotsona

Line 86) A-Alright then. I’ll get going now.

Sotsona turns and heads to the door but the guy stops her.

Guy 1

Line 87) Wait a sec!

Sotsona turns back around and that guy is a lot closer to her.

She awkwardly looks away from him.

Sotsona

Line 88) W-What is it?

Guy 1

Line 89) You have something on your shirt.

The guy pretends to wipe something off her shirt so that he can secretly place a note inside her pocket without her noticing.

Guy 1

Line 90) Alright. It’s gone now.

Guy 1

Line 91) I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.

Sotsona

Line 92) You didn’t. I’m sorry about today. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.

Guy 1

Line 93) You did, but that’s alright.

Sotsona looks at him weirdly, not expecting that response from him.

Sotsona

Line 94) U-Uh, anyways. Have a good evening.

Guy 1

Line 95) You too.

Sotsona and the guy walk their separate ways. 

Sotsona is back inside the restaurant with a confused expression on her face.

Line 96) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I’ve never had anything like that ever happen to me, that’s for sure.

The hostess notices Sotsona enter the building again.

Hostess

Line 97) Why the heck did you storm off?

Sotsona

Line 98) I had to handle something. I’m sorry. I’ll get back to work right away.

Hostess

Line 99) Don’t ever walk out like that again.

Sotsona nods her head and gets back to work.

The other waitress approaches Sotsona as she works.

Waitress

Line 100) Tell me you didn’t give the tip back to him.

Sotsona

Line 101) That doesn’t concern you.

The waitress looks offended.

Waitress

Line 102) That DOES concern me. I picked up their bill.

Waitress

Line 103) I get a certain percentage of that check. So, cough it up.

Sotsona gets irritated.

Sotsona

Line 104) All you did was handle the bill. And now you expect to get a certain amount back?

Waitress

Line 105) Well duh. I won’t let you slide by so easily.

Waitress

Line 106) If you don’t give me anything back, I’ll tell our boss you stormed out of the restaurant while working.

Sotsona gets upset.

Sotsona

Line 107) What? That’s not fair.

Waitress

Line 108) You’ll most likely get fired. 

Waitress

Line 109) So, give me some money. You got my hopes up and crushed them the moment you returned the tip.

Line 110) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: How could anyone do something like this?

Line 111) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: I have no choice but to pay her, if I want to keep my job.

Line 112) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: Again. It’s all about money.

Sotsona’s eyebrows quiver in frustration.

Line 113) Sotsona’s inner thoughts: This is really pissing me off!

Sotsona

Line 114) Fine… How much do you want?

Waitress

Line 115) At least 50 bucks.

Sotsona’s jaw drops.

Sotsona

Line 116) 50 bucks?! That’s all the tips I accumulated today!

Waitress

Line 117) It could’ve been more than that but you just HAD to give them back your tip.

Waitress

Line 118) Pay up. Or I’m telling our boss.

Sotsona upsettingly agrees.
