Calista arrives at the park and spots Marvin alone on the bench. She beeps the car and he notices and gets into the car. Marvin Line 1) Thank you for picking me up. Calista Line 2) It’s no problem. As she drives them home they converse. Calista Line 3) So, how was it? Marvin Line 4) It was great. I’m relieved that I found him and was able to talk to him. Calista Line 5) That makes me happy for you. Marvin Line 6) We just caught up on how his life’s been all these years. Calista Line 7) You didn’t ask him any of the questions? Marvin Line 8) I didn’t have time to. I felt like he had been wanting to tell me about his life for so long. So, I just let him since he’s missed me so much. Calista smiles. Marvin Line 9) He told me he was free to hang out tomorrow. Could I hang out with him? Calista Line 10) Of course. You don’t need to ask me permission. Calista Line 11) Feel free to do whatever you want. Calista Line 12) I’m not holding you back. Am I? Marvin Line 13) No. It just seemed like I needed to ask you. Calista Line 14) I'll get you there at whatever time you both are scheduled to meet up. Calista Line 15) Consider yourself as the new roommate for Talulla and me. You’re free to do whatever you want. There’s no rules that give you limits. Marvin Line 16) I really appreciate that. Marvin Line 17) As Russell and I were talking he mentioned that my friend Cady was still alive out of our entire friend group. So, I’m going to reveal myself to her as well. Calista Line 18) Sounds good. As long as you trust the people you’re opening up to. That's the most important thing. They arrive at their apartment and get inside. They see Talulla still in the dining room with plates for dinner. Talulla Line 19) Welcome back you two. They eat their food and Talulla tells Marvin about Teresa. Talulla Line 20) That’s why tomorrow I’ll be going to the cafe and putting the photos in Teresa’s bag. Talulla Line 21) Hopefully she’ll stop suspecting us from then. Marvin Line 22) I appreciate you helping out. Talulla Line 23) After that we should avoid her as much as possible since she’s connected to Elouise. Talulla looks at Marvin in a shocked way. Talulla Line 24) Or are you thinking of revealing yourself to her as well? Marvin Line 25) No. She’s the last person on earth that I would ever reveal myself to. Talulla Line 26) That’s what I thought you’d say. Talulla remembers something. Talulla Line 27) Oh, I forgot to mention something very important! Calista and Marvin keep their ears perched. *We get a flashback on what Talulla saw. Talulla Line 28) As I was riding home from work, I had to take a different route because there is road work being constructed. Talulla Line 29) So, I took the other route, and it was near the plaza that we went to, to see the psychics. Talulla Line 30) I was so positive it was the place, however, I couldn’t spot the teller site. Talulla Line 31) I even drove into the plaza to further investigate where the teller place was, but it was as if it was never there in the first place. Talulla Line 32) All that was there was a completely empty room. But all the decor that was up when we entered wasn’t there anymore. Talulla Line 33) Everything was completely abandoned. I even asked people around and they were completely clueless, so there’s no way we can get more information about that. Talulla Line 34) But it was most definitely the same place we were at yesterday. Calista and Marvin have shocked expressions on their faces. Marvin Line 35) How could the place be gone? It was just there yesterday. Calista Line 36) That’s so strange. I wonder why they left everything? And so quickly too. Talulla Line 37) Yeah, it’s definitely suspicious. I’m certain it was because of what they did to us. Talulla Line 38) Either way, if we ever want to see them again. We can’t. Marvin rubs his head. Line 39) Marvin: How else am I supposed to verify what my unfulfilled duty is? Line 40) Marvin: They were being so vague as to what our rules and limits were. Line 41) Marvin: How are we supposed to be cautious if we can’t even ask them about it anymore? They unwind their routines and are now heading to bed. Calista is in the living room checking up on Marvin. Calista Line 42) While you're hanging out with Russell tomorrow. I’ll go shopping and buy you a new bed. Marvin looks shocked. He rubs his neck from the couch giving him muscle aches. Marvin Line 43) What?! You don’t have to! Calista Line 44) Oh, come on! Look at yourself. You’re all tensed up. The cramped couch must be uncomfortable to sleep on. Marvin Line 45) I could just sleep on the ground. Calista Line 46) That would make you even more tense. Calista Line 47) I’m still allowing you to sleep on my bed. Marvin Line 48) And I’m still going to tell you, that you should be the one sleeping on it. Calista Line 49) Why don’t you want to? Marvin Line 50) Firstly, where would you sleep? And secondly it’s sort of an invasion of privacy. I wouldn’t be comfortable sleeping in a stranger’s bed. Line 51) Calista: He still thinks I’m a stranger? But what about our talk yesterday? Calista Line 52) I would sleep on Talulla’s bed. Plus, I don’t think we’re strangers to each other anymore. From my point of view, I don’t see you sleeping on my bed as an invasion of privacy. Calista Line 53) You’re making me feel bad for sleeping comfortably. While you sleep with aching muscles from this bumpy and stiff couch. Marvin Line 54) Would it make you feel better if I slept on your bed? Calista Line 55) Yes. It would make me feel less guilty. Marvin clicks his tongue and sighs. Line 56) Marvin: I should just do it, since she keeps insisting. They are now in Calista's room and she’s changing her sheets for Marvin to sleep on. He gets into bed. Calista Line 57) See? It’s not so bad right? Marvin Line 58) I guess not. Marvin smiles at Calista. Marvin Line 59) Thanks for this. I find it very considerate. And I’m sorry if calling you a stranger hurts your feelings. Calista tries to act oblivious. Calista Line 60) What? It. Didn’t. Hurt. My. Feelings. Marvin looks at Calista knowing she’s playing dumb. Marvin Line 61) You’re easy to read. So, there’s no need to lie. Marvin Line 62) Anyways, thank you so much. Calista Line 63) Y-You’re welcome. Anyways good night. And don’t wake up early this time around. Marvin Line 64) Alright I won’t. But you also can’t wake up early either. Before Calista leaves she adds one more thing. Calista Line 65) Oh, and about the teller place being gone. Marvin looks at Calista. Calista Line 66) Don’t worry too much about that. We’ll be able to get through this without their help. Marvin is touched hearing this from Calista. She closes the door and walks into Talullas room. Talulla is getting situated in bed. Talulla Line 67) Why are you here? Do you need something? Calista crawls into Talulla’s bed. Calista Line 68) I’ll be sleeping here tonight. Talulla Line 69) What? Why? Calista Line 70) I gave Marvin my bedroom, so he could sleep better instead of sleeping on our uncomfortable couch. Talulla Line 71) Huh.That’s nice of you. Anyways goodnight. Calista says goodnight as well while Talulla turns off the lights and crawls into bed. She turns herself to face Calista. Talulla Line 72) Real talk, Calista. Do you like Marvin? Calista gives Talulla the side eye. Calista Line 73) What do you think my response to that question will be? Talulla Line 74) Yes? Calista looked at Talulla in disappointment. Calista Line 75) Hm. I thought you knew me better. Talulla Line 76) So do you, or do you not? Answer the question. Calista gets annoyed. Calista Line 77) I obviously don’t, Talulla. Talulla Line 78) So, then why are you getting so defensive? Huh? Huh? Talulla elbows Calista as she says huh. Calista Line 79) I’m not getting defensive. I’m just shocked at how ridiculous your assumptions are about me. Talulla Line 80) I’ve been right about this stuff in the past. Talulla Line 81) I don’t know about you. But I’m sensing something between you guys. Calista Line 82) How could there be anything between us, if we’ve only known each other for 2 days? Talulla Line 83) So, you’re even keeping track of how long he’s been here? Talulla gives Calista a flirtatious look. Calista Line 84) Not for those kinds of reasons. But because I want to get him to get back to his time ASAP. Calista Line 85) You should get your senses checked out, because they’re obviously wrong. Calista turns her back on Talulla. Calista Line 86) Anyways, go to sleep. Talulla Line 87) Mmm. I ship it. Calista Line 88) GOODNIGHT. They head to bed and get up the next morning. Talulla goes to work. Calista wakes up for the day. Calista checks the time on her phone and notices it’s 10:38 AM. Line 89) Calista: It’s time I wake up. I should check if Marvin’s awake. Calista goes to her room and sees that Marvin is still sleeping. Line 90) Calista: The couch must’ve exhausted him earlier. I’ll let him sleep some more. Calista gets ready for the day and wonders what to do for breakfast. Line 91) Calista: Usually this time around I would grab something to eat on my way to work. Then, on the weekends Talulla would for us. Line 92) Calista: I guess I’ll make eggs again. I’ll save some for Marvin once he wakes up. She makes an omelet and eats it. While she eats she gets a text message on her phone from Russell. Text for Russell reads: Hello. Sorry for leaving you out yesterday. I know Marvin doesn’t have his own phone, but could you tell him to meet up by noon at xxxxx (address). Your efforts are highly appreciated. Line 93) Calista: I’ll drive him there, then go shopping and tidy up the place. Marvin wakes up and makes his way to the living room. He looks well rested and his hair is messy. Calista Line 94) Morning. Eat some breakfast. Marvin Line 95) Good morning. Thank you for the meal. He sits down and gets to eating. Calista Line 96) Your hair shows how well you slept. He feels his hair and notices it’s out of place. Marvin Line 97) Oh. Sorry for the mess. Calista Line 98) Don’t be sorry. I’m just glad you finally slept well. Marvin Line 99) Thank you for letting me. Did Russell message you by any chance? Calista Line 100) Yeah, he wants to meet up by noon. Marvin Line 101) Do you mind taking me there? I’m not familiar with this area. Calista Line 102) I’ll take you there, no prob. They get ready and leave for their destination. They are now on the bus. Calista Line 103) You’re meeting up at a house? Marvin Line 104) Yeah. It must be Russells. Calista Line 105) Anyways, stay there for as long as you like. There’s no rush for you to get home. Marvin Line 106) Thanks for letting me know. Calista Line 107) Maybe ask those questions we wrote down this time around. Marvin Line 108) Of course. I’ll get to the bottom of it. They arrive at their destination and hop off. Calista Line 109) Keep an eye out for house number 709. Marvins eyes skim around the neighborhood and land on house 709. Marvin Line 110) I found it. Calista Line 111) Alright, get going then. I’ll see you soon. Take my phone again like last time. Marvin Line 112) Let me introduce you to my friends. Calista Line 113) That’s alright. We can do that another time. Enjoy your stay. They wave each other off as they part ways and Marvin makes it to the porch of house 709. He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door. Scrambling is heard and an old lady opens the door. She looks at Marvin in shock. Marvin Line 114) Oh. Hey. Does a man named Russell Jimenez live here by any chance? Line 115) Marvin: I wasn’t expecting more company. I have no idea who this lady is. The old lady smacks Marvins chest. He looks at her in shock. Cady Line 116) Can’t you tell that it’s me, you idiot? Marvin kept looking at the lady in shock. Line 117) Marvin: Who is this woman? Russell walks by and joins in the conversation. Russell Line 118) Marvin, it’s Cady. Marvin looked at the lady in shock. Line 119) Marvin: Oh my Gosh! Of course it’s her! Marvin Line 120) Oh my goodness! Of course it’s you, Cady! Hello! They tightly hug each other. Cady Line 121) How could you not recognize me?! Cady Line 122) It’s not like I look that old. Russell Line 123) Yes you do Cady. Cady Line 124) Shut up, Russ. Marvin laughs and they pull apart, still in each other's arms. Cady reaches for Marvins face. Cady Line 125) I’ve missed you so much Marv. Cady starts to cry. Marvin hugs her tightly. Marvin Line 126) I’m so relieved to see you Cady. Cady Line 127) I thought the old man finally lost his mind when he told me he met you. Russell Line 128) Guess who owes me 50 bucks? They made a bet. Cady Line 129) There’s so much we have to tell you! They welcome him in and sit all together on a couch in the living room. Marvins narration: Line 130) A part of my soul aches seeing my friends so old, and knowing some of them passed away. Line 131) But that also makes me even more motivated to get to the bottom of this situation. Line 132) I must do everything in my power to get back home. End of episode. © 2024 YoshAuthor's Note
