Marvin asks Calista if it's okay if she can give him a rundown of everything he's missed these past 56 years to be caught up with history. She agrees to explain everything to him, doing her best, though she is not the best at explaining. Marvin's jaw drops in shock as Calista explains everything to him (the history in "In Another Lifetime" is not historically accurate and takes inspiration from real history, but is not verbatim). Calista questions Marvin for his reassurance, glancing at him for an answer. Calista Line 1) I think I've covered almost everything. So... what do you think? Marvin looks at Calista speechlessly, responding in shock. Marvin Line 2) U-uh. It's just a lot to take in... I-I don't know what to say... Calista speaks understandingly, her body language consoling for Marvin to feel comfortable. Calista Line 3) You don't have to say anything. Take all the time you need to process things. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for you to hear all of this information. Marvin rubs his head in distress. A couple moments of silence pass between them as Marvin absorbs the information Calista just notified him about. He speaks acceptingly, finding no purpose in dwelling on what's been done. Marvin Line 4) Things happen. What can we do about it? It's not like we can control everything. Life wouldn't be life if that were the case. Calista speaks agreeably. Calista Line 5) Yeah. These are just the way things are. We're still holding on just fine, though. As the phrase goes, "It is what it is." Calista speaks in a manner of worry, not wanting to keep Marvin up for too long. Calista Line 6) Anyway, I think you've been overloaded enough today with all kinds of ground-breaking news. We should call it a night. Rest can do wonders. Marvin nods his head agreeably. He speaks appreciatively toward Calista, smiling at her gratefully. Marvin Line 7) Thank you for everything, Calista. You've been exceptional today. Calista replies nicely, her aura warm and friendly. Calista Line 8) You've shown me quite enough gratitude for today, Marvin. Know that you are very welcome. Marvin speaks determinedly. Marvin Line 9) Things have been rough, but as you said, I should try to keep my head up.* So, that's what I'm going to do. *Refer back to episode 10, line 61. Marvin speaks optimistically. Marvin Line 10) I'm going to give it my all to try and see the light at the end of the tunnel. This time-traveling situation really is a blessing in disguise, as you've said again.* *Refer back to episode 5, line 129. Marvin smiles at Calista appreciatively. Marvin Line 11) You and Talulla are the ones who initiated this process, giving me a second chance to make things right in my life. Marvin gazes into Calista's eyes sentimentally, his thankfulness for her efforts very apparent in his soul. Marvin Line 12) This opportunity wouldn't have been possible without you two, so thank you so much for giving me a new purpose in life. Calista smiles at Marvin happily, speaking to him cheerfully, feeling touched by his appreciation. Calista Line 13) You're welcome again. However, this entire situation was completely unintentional, so it'd be more fitting if you'd thank the universe instead of me and Talulla. Calista speaks in a surreal manner. Calista Line 14) I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything, but things are an interesting change for once, I suppose. Life is quite mundane. The things you watch in movies or read about in stories don't usually tend to happen in real life because they're far too magical... Calista Line 15) Knowing that those things can actually be possible suddenly is crazy. I don't feel like I'm alive because things are just way too fantastical for me to fathom. I know I've probably already said that a dozen times, but things are so wild to the point where I keep repeating myself because I'm at a loss for words. Calista speaks acceptingly. Calista Line 16) But the proof is here, and it's very much real. I just still need time to process, I guess. Talulla said we should do everything in moderation.* I'm hoping that things will get easier each day for us. *Refer back to episode 10, line 32. Marvin releases an amusing chuckle, feeling mutual with Calista. Marvin Line 17) It's been pretty hard for me to come to terms with reality, too. You and Talulla are right. We just need to take baby steps to get accustomed to our circumstances. Things will eventually shape up. Marvin gazes out the window once again, looking outside wistfully. He speaks in a tone of defeat. Marvin Line 18) It sucks because I'm the kind of person that likes to get everything done all at once. This situation will require a lot of patience. I guess that's a good challenge for me, but boy, will it be difficult to get through this. Calista's lips curl into a smile of delight, not expecting her and Marvin to relate in that regard. Calista Line 19) I'm the same way. Patience is not my thing.* *Refer back to episode 10, lines 31, 33, 41, etc. Marvin clenches his fist in frustration, speaking in a manner of annoyance. Marvin Line 20) It's just killing me that I don't know what went wrong. I mean, how could Elouise just divorce me and decide to cut ties? What could I have possibly done wrong to make her lash out to such an extent? Marvin Line 21) I know we'll get answers once Teresa talks to Elouise, but I just could really use some kind of closure right now. Not to sound self-absorbed, but there's no way her decision to cut ties has me to blame. I couldn't have been the problem. Calista thinks to herself, wanting to help Marvin feel reassured. Calista Line 22) Maybe having a bird's-eye view could help. If you don't mind opening up a bit more since what we know about you thus far is just a bunch of glossed-over information, it could perhaps help us try to get to the bottom of what went wrong. Though I can't guarantee we'll indeed figure out the problem right here, right now. Calista speaks with uncertainty. Calista Line 23) I just want to see if I can help you at this very moment. If you tell me more about yourself, maybe it could spur some realization that could help us figure out the problem. I don't know what else we could do. So, what do you say? Marvin looks at Calista touchingly. He speaks to her apologetically. Marvin Line 24) You're too kind, Calista. I wouldn't have expressed my frustrations right now if I had known you were going to exhaust your help once again. That's quite selfish of me. I'm sorry for worrying you. Marvin speaks precautiously. Marvin Line 25) It's pretty late. I don't want to keep you up just so that you can help me. We can save that for tomorrow. Or, I guess later today since it's already past midnight. Calista speaks reassuringly. Calista Line 26) Firstly, I am quite a night owl. The fact that I don't have work tomorrow will just further fuel my want to stay up. Secondly, if I were to get tucked into bed right now, I don't think I'd be able to fall asleep. Thoughts from today will just endlessly swirl through my mind. Calista speaks politely, looking out for Marvin. Calista Line 27) You're not being selfish. I don't mind chatting with you if it could perhaps help us make further progress in your goal. That is, as long as you don't mind either. I'm sure you're exhausted after today. Feel like calling it a night? Marvin smiles at Calista sincerely, speaking toward her appreciatively. Marvin Line 28) I also don't think I'll be able to sleep for the same reason, so if you're really okay with chatting with me, that would be great. Calista nods her head confirmingly, getting herself comfy on the window sill as they chat with each other. Marvin questions Calista inquisitively. Marvin Line 29) ... So, what should I tell you? Calista speaks instructively. Calista Line 30) Tell me more about your relationship with Elouise since she's our main target when it comes to getting an insight into your life. Marvin speaks informatively. Marvin Line 31) Well, since Todd is my best friend, it was only natural that, at some point, I'd get acquainted with Elouise, one way or another, since she's his younger sister. Marvin speaks reminiscently. Marvin Line 32) Todd and I became friends with each other during University. Obviously, he eventually told me about Elouise, but I hadn't directly met her at the time yet, so I could only assume what she was like. Marvin speaks in a detail-oriented manner, wanting to be specific enough for Calista to thoroughly understand. Marvin Line 33) Todd prefaced me by saying she's not the friendliest person in the world and that it can be tough to get along with her. I asked why that was, but it seemed like a sensitive subject, so he never told me. Marvin feels confused as he speaks. Marvin Line 34) To this day, I have no idea what Elouise went through to lead her to behave the way she does, but Todd was likely affected, too. It's crazy how different they are from each other, but that really isn't any of my business, I guess. Marvin speaks immersively, putting himself in his past self's shoes. Marvin Line 35) Once we graduated from university, Todd threw a celebration party at his house, inviting me and our entire friend group over. It was there that I finally met Elouise. Marvin speaks open-mindedly. Marvin Line 36) Based on what Todd said about Elouise, she didn't fit his descriptions. She seemed quite kind to me, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Being the kind of guy who approaches things with positive intentions, I tried not to apply the negativity I've heard about her to her. Marvin speaks bitterly, his eyebrows furrowing irritably as he thinks back to bad memories. Marvin Line 37) During the time of the party, with me graduating and whatnot, my father heavily pressured me to step up and take over our family's business. I felt too stressed to handle such authority, especially right out of university, so I was quite a wreck. Marvin speaks ashamedly. Marvin Line 38) So, being the stressed-out guy that I was, I got heavily drunk at the party that night, just wanting to escape my troubles and let loose for a bit. *Shot cuts to a flashback of the house party at Todd's place. The party wraps up with Todd looming over passed-out Marvin on his couch. He calls for Elouise's help. Todd Line 39) Hey, El? Could you please do me a favor? Elousie hears her name, approaching Todd to observe passed-out Marvin. Todd speaks in a desperate manner. Todd Line 40) Could you please take Marvin home? I'm really busy tidying up the place after the party. You'd be doing me a huge favor. Todd speaks informatively. Todd Line 41) He has a big meeting with his father tomorrow. I don't know what he was thinking, blacking out like this, but he can't miss that meeting for the world. Elouise replies disconcertedly, feeling taken aback by Todd's sudden request. Elouise Line 42) Uh. I guess I'll do it. Give me his address. Todd locates his notepad by his place's door's exit, quickly writing the information down and handing it over to Elouise. He speaks instructively. Todd Line 43) His place is around 15 minutes away from here, apartment door number 108. Also, he has a clock on his nightstand. So, could you please set an alarm for 7:00 AM so that he can wake up on time for the meeting? Elouise releases a burdensome sigh, replying dryly. Elouise Line 44) Fine. At least help me get him into my car. Todd props up passed-out Marvin on his shoulder, able to hold him upright easily from his strength. Elouise puts Marvin on her shoulder from the other side, the two of them slowly walking over to the exit of Todd's place. They struggle to walk down the steps of Todd's apartment complex. They finally reach the end of the steps, locating Elouise's car to put Marvin into. Todd scoops Marvin into his arms, getting him situated in the back seat of Elouise's car. Todd looks at Elouise timidly, feeling like a nuisance for burdening her with such a task. He speaks to her nervously. Todd Line 45) U-uh, sorry for making you do this. I appreciate your help abundantly, though! Elouise speaks begrudgingly, shooting Todd a sassy look. Elouise Line 46) My help doesn't come for free. You owe me big for this. Todd nods his head, with Elouise sitting in the driver's seat, taking off to Marvin's place. Once she arrives at his place, she glances at Marvin seated in the back of her car and releases a sigh of annoyance. She exits her car, slightly slamming her door shut irritably and opening up the back seat door to get Marvin out. She stretches her back and arms, preparing to take him up the steps. She grabs ahold of Marvin's hands, dragging him out of her car. Once she gets him out, she props him up on her shoulder again, grunting from his weight overpowering hers, unable to have felt it earlier from Todd's help. She furrows her eyebrows in frustration. Line 47) Elouise's inner thoughts: Gosh! He's so darn heavy! Why did Todd think I was capable of taking him home?! This is such a pain! Elouise struggles to get Marvin up the steps of his place, having to take breaks from his heaviness weighing her down. After a long time, she finally makes it to his apartment door. Her face engulfs a grim expression upon realizing something important she missed. She smacks her head in annoyance. Line 48) Elouise's inner thoughts: I forgot about the damn keys! Why didn't Todd tell me?! Elouise looks down at Marvin's dress pants, noticing that they have pockets. An idea comes across her mind. Line 49) Elouise's inner thoughts: Wait. What if the keys are in his pockets? Elouise rummages through Marvin's pockets, her hands landing upon his keys. She pulls them out in relief. Line 50) Elouise's inner thoughts: Bingo! Elouise unlocks the door to Marvin's apartment, opening and getting greeted by his dog, Rex. Elouise flinches from the unexpected encounter. Rex wags his tail, excited to see Marvin. He barks at Elouise, feeling endangered by her presence. Marvin doesn't budge from Rex's barks, still slumped. Elouise pets Rex to calm him down, with Rex cuddling onto her leg after their acquaintance. She smiles at Rex, pleasantly surprised by his sudden appearance, and having a soft spot for dogs. Line 51) Elouise's inner thoughts: I didn't know he had a dog~ How cute! Elouise struggles to bring Marvin into his room but eventually does so, plopping him onto his bed. She takes his shoes off, tucking him in for the night. She releases a sigh of exhaustion, cracking her back after successfully accomplishing her task. Line 52) Elouise's inner thoughts: Alright. We're all set. He honestly owes me his life for this. Elouise gets a good look at Marvin's face, blushing at the sight of his restless complexion. Line 53) Elouise's inner thoughts: He's lucky he's at least handsome. I wouldn't have agreed so easily if he wasn't such a heartthrob~ Elouise spots the clock on Marvin's nightstand, setting an alarm for 7:00 AM. *Shot cuts back to Marvin and Calista conversing with each other on the living room's window sill. Marvin speaks informatively, his face expressive as he explains things to Calista. Calista gazes at Marvin keenly, processing the information he's telling her. Marvin Line 54) We eventually bumped into each other again, and she told me about how she was the one who took me home that night... Marvin Line 55) She really saved me that day, and I appreciated her efforts to go out of her way to help me, so I wanted to see if there was any way I could make things up to her. Marvin speaks ashamedly. Marvin Line 56) After all, it was my fault for getting so drunk. I was being irresponsible that night, forgetting about the fact that I had important things to tend to the next day. *Shot cuts to a flashback of Marvin and Elouise talking with each other at Todd's place on a random occasion where they are together again. Marvin speaks appreciatively toward Elouise, his demeanor bubbly. Marvin Line 57) I can't thank you enough for that night, Elouise. I would've been busted if I hadn't gotten up in time for that meeting. Thank you so so much! You're my hero! Elouise speaks in a sly manner, a devious smile curling her lips. Elouise Line 58) You could make it up to me if you're really that grateful. Marvin speaks mutually, his tone friendly. Marvin Line 59) I was actually thinking of that myself. He questions Elouise curiously. Marvin Line 60) Do you have anything in mind? Elouise speaks flirtatiously, fluttering her eyelashes at Marvin flusteredly. Elouise Line 61) I was thinking you could take me out on a date~ *Shot cuts back to Marvin and Calista speaking to each other at the window sill. Marvin Line 62) I didn't expect Elouise to suggest I take her out on a date, but I wasn't in any position to deny her request since I really wanted to owe her a favor, so I agreed. Marvin speaks in a tone of disappointment. Marvin Line 63) That night I learned a lot about Elouise... Marvin Line 64) I was open-minded about us potentially pursuing a relationship with each other if we hit it off during our date, but after it, I came to the conclusion that things just wouldn't work out between us like that. Marvin elaborates further, painting a detailed picture for Calista. Marvin Line 65) She was very nice to me, and I felt really charmed by her efforts, but when it came to her interactions with other people, it was as if she turned into a completely different person. The things Todd said about Elouise suddenly came back to me and made sense.* *Refer back to line 33 of this episode. *Shot cuts to Marvin and Elouise at a fancy restaurant with each other, going on the date she suggested he take her out on. They are seated at a table of two, looking snazzy for the occasion. Once they order their drinks, the waiter swings by their table to serve them. The waiter sets Marvin's drink down, with Elouise analyzing it skeptically. She speaks in a tone of disdain toward the waiter. Elouise Line 66) My date ordered a Shirly Temple with no ice. Why did you decide to bring him one with ice anyway when I specifically told you not to? Do you have a hearing problem or something? Marvin interjects, speaking anxiously to calm Elouise down. Marvin Line 67) D-don't worry. It's no big deal" Elouise raises her voice at the waiter, speaking passive-aggressively. Elouise Line 68) I'll have you know that my father is a very wealthy man! He could easily get you fired from this darn place! Elouise Line 69) If you want to keep your job, I suggest you take this drink back while I'm asking nicely! Listen better next time, you idiot! The waiter nervously gulps, feeling frightened by Elouise's threats. They frantically take Marvin's drink back, speaking apologetically. Waiter Line 70) I'm very sorry, ma'am. I'll get you a new drink swiftly, sir. M-my sincerest apologies for the mix-up. Marvin's eyes bulge in shock from Elouise's abrasiveness. Elouise speaks casually to Marvin, disregarding her rude interaction with the waiter. Elouise Line 71) I hate it when people can't do their jobs correctly. What were you saying, Marvin~? *Marvin continues explaining things to Calista as they sit with each other on the window sill. He speaks informatively in an upsetting way, disappointed by Elouise's scornful attitude. Marvin Line 72) Elouise is the type of person who uses her wealth to her advantage when it comes to overpowering people. That, to me, is a huge red flag. I was utterly humiliated at our date. It felt like all eyes were plastered on us. Marvin rubs his head in distress, feeling overwhelmed just by reminiscing at the memory. Marvin Line 73) I brought up her behavior, stating she had no right to lash out at the waiter like that, but she ignored me, coming up with all kinds of excuses as to why she could act however she wanted to. Marvin Line 74) After our date, she asked me out again, but I had to respectfully let her down. She seemed too stubborn to change, even after I told her what she did was wrong. Not only that, she thought I was on her side about her behavior. I immediately made myself clear, but she ignored my points nonetheless. Marvin speaks in a disrespected manner. Marvin Line 75) Regardless of my rejection, she continued showing interest in me, acting flirtatiously when I was around, showing favoritism toward me, and overall prying into my personal life when I thought I had made my boundaries clear. Marvin speaks in a tone of disapproval. Marvin Line 76) As I got older, my father started urging me to get married, saying that in the business realm, it'd make me look more professional. He suggested Elouise to me, knowing that I'm close to Todd. Marvin speaks informatively. Marvin Line 77) Todd and Elouise have affluent family businesses, including the café Teresa works at.* My dad thought that if we could merge our businesses together, it could offer us more security for whatever reasons. *Refer back to episode 9, line 92. Marvin speaks in a forgiving manner. Marvin Line 78) Although I wasn't interested in Elouise that way, I was considering pursuing her again, but only as my last resort so that my father could stop breathing down my neck about that kind of stuff. I thought that I could perhaps change her if we gave things another shot... Marvin speaks disconcertedly. Marvin Line 79) Now, knowing that I do eventually marry her, I'm assuming my feelings for her never changed, and she never changed the way I thought she would, which would explain why our relationship didn't work out in the long run. But either way, why would she completely cut me out of her life, especially when we have a kid together?* *Teresa's father (refer back to episode 6, lines 96"99). Calista tilts her head to the side, looking at Marvin puzzlingly. She speaks in a tone of clarification. Calista Line 80) Yeah. It doesn't make sense why she'd do that, but it really does seem like you guys weren't a good match for each other. Marvin speaks confusingly, stumped upon his decisions. Marvin Line 81) I wonder why I ever agreed to marry her in the first place. That choice seems completely out of character if you ask me. Even with my father's forceful influence, I wouldn't listen to him, so what made me cave in? Calista shrugs her shoulders, unable to give Marvin an answer. She speaks reassuringly. Calista Line 82) From what we know so far, if you didn't remarry anyone after divorcing Elouise,* I'm assuming your unfinished business definitely has to do with your sister's death wish about her wanting you to find your happily ever after. *Refer back to episode 9, line 97. Calista speaks in a hopeful manner. Calista Line 83) I really hope we'll be able to get in touch with some of your friends tomorrow. They'd be able to clarify a lot for us. Calista Line 84) From there, we'll be able to see if what we assume matches up. Marvin rubs his head in distress, speaking in shock. Marvin Line 85) I can't believe this entire time-traveling thing is happening over love. How pathetic is that? Calista speaks in a passionately defensive manner. Calista Line 86) It's the only thing that adds up at the moment. Why is that so hard to believe? And what's so pathetic about love? Don't underestimate it. Marvin speaks frustratedly. Marvin Line 87) It just seems unreasonable. Finding love is not a necessity in one's life, so how come it's what caused mine to be so unfulfilling? Why wasn't I able to have my happily ever after without it? Calista thinks through Marvin's questions, answering plausibly. Calista Line 88) You bring up a good point. Even if it's not love, everything you've told me so far indicates it's correlated. It just seems like you were destined to have an epic love but ended up splitting up with someone you weren't even that into from the start. Calista puts the pieces together, summarizing everything to Marvin for him to understand further. Calista Line 89) You said earlier today that nobody stuck around long enough when it came to your relationships.* Since you married Elouise, and that didn't work out, which caused her to cut ties with you, the root of the issue is that you didn't pursue a family with the right person, ergo, didn't love the right person. *Refer back to episode 6, line 47, etc. Marvin thinks through Calista's explanations comprehendingly. Calista questions Marvin for them to continue making traction. Calista Line 90) Have you ever been romantically in love? Marvin looks stumped by Calista's question. He responds to her in uncertainty. Marvin Line 91) U-um. I'm not sure... Calista crosses her arms conclusively. Calista Line 92) That seems to be our answer, then. Marvin questions Calista, seeking her reassurance desperately. Marvin Line 93) Alright. Besides that, do you think I'm the one who caused a problem for Elouise to cut ties with me with your bird's-eye view?* *Refer back to lines 20"23 of this episode. Calista shrugs, speaking in a slightly consoling manner. Calista Line 94) I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but from what we've discussed, I don't think you caused any issues. Elouise's decision to cut ties seems like something she did out of spite to you. Marvin thinks through Calista's assumption, getting hit with a crushing realization. He releases a sigh of defeat. Marvin Line 95) I guess you really are right about this whole thing being over love. If I decided to go for her, and she caused such substantial impacts, then that just goes to show I didn't choose the right partner, and all these repercussions fell into my lap because of that dumb decision. Calista's eyebrows furrow in pity, speaking apologetically to Marvin. Calista Line 96) I'm really sorry this happened to you, Marvin. You deserve better. Marvin droops his head down dejectedly. Calista speaks timidly, not knowing if Marvin is up to talk some more with her. Calista Line 97) Besides informing me about Elouise, I feel like we could get more insight if you tell me about other people in your life. Is that okay with you? Marvin smiles bittersweetly at Calista, nodding his head yes. Line 98) Marvin's inner thoughts: Not once in my life has anyone been this intrigued to hear about me. I feel special because of her avid interest and determination to help me~ Marvin questions Calista curiously. Marvin Line 99) Who should I talk about? Calista speaks instructively, with her inquisitive nature apparent. Calista Line 100) Your father. If you don't mind explaining, why does your relationship with him seem rocky? Marvin speaks informatively. Marvin Line 101) My father is your stereotypical businessman. He lives, eats, and breathes business. It takes up all of this time and is considered the most important thing to him. Marvin speaks in a resentful manner. Marvin Line 102) Because of that, he's always busy. I rarely saw him as a kid because he'd be cooped up in his office all day. He barely contributed to raising me, which is the reason why I have a caretaker. Marvin Line 103) Honestly, not only was he very busy, but very avoidant, too. It seemed like he would purposefully overload with work just so that he wouldn't have to deal with me. Calista speaks sympathetically. Calista Line 104) That sounds so rough. I'm very sorry to hear that. Marvin gets hit with a wave of realization. Marvin Line 105) Now that I think about it, maybe I take after my father with my love life being such a wreck. Calista tilts her head to the side, wondering why Marvin thinks that way. Calista Line 106) What makes you say that? Marvin explains dejectedly. Marvin Line 107) My father never married. My mother was a fling of his. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was a baby. Calista looks at Marvin upsettingly. Line 108) Calista's inner thoughts: Poor Marvin had such a rough upbringing. I see him so differently now. Calista speaks in a manner of sorrow, her eyebrows furrowing in anguish. Calista Line 109) I'm so sorry to hear that, Marvin. Marvin speaks reassuringly. Marvin Line 110) Thank you, Calista. Although my father didn't play his role properly in my life, I think I turned out okay. My caretaker, Mama Millie, stepped in, and she compensated enough for my biological parents' absence. I'm very grateful for her. She's very important to me. Marvin speaks in a bitter manner. Marvin Line 111) Another reason why I don't want to take over my father's business is because I don't want to be anything like him. A life dedicated solely to work is not one suited for me. I wish I could just do what I want. There's a lot of pressure on me. Marvin speaks in a tone of shame. Marvin Line 112) I know I sound like a privileged b*****d saying that. People would kill to have a family business, and I am definitely very thankful for it in some ways, but it's really tough work that I constantly stress out about. I'm relieved to put a pause to it with this whole time-traveling stuff. Calista speaks apologetically. Calista Line 113) I understand where you're coming from, Marvin. I hope you'll be able to do whatever you truly want to someday. My heart goes out to you for what you've been through. Another thought comes across Calista's mind, prompting her to question Marvin curiously. Calista Line 114) I wonder why your father's urging you to settle down if you could just have a fling like he did. Calista's face etches into an expression of shock after she comprehends what she's just said. She apologizes frantically for her bluntness. Calista Line 115) S-sorry. That was a rough way to put it. Marvin releases a chuckle, speaking reassuringly. Marvin Line 116) Don't worry about it~ Marvin speaks informatively. Marvin Line 117) I've wondered the same thing, but upon asking him, it turns out my father doesn't want me to repeat the same mistakes he did. I guess he slightly cares about me in his own unique way. Marvin speaks disappointedly. Marvin Line 118) His stance also has to do with how I mentioned that people tend to take you more seriously after getting married; therefore, it's good for business.* So, I guess it's really the business aspect that he cares more about. I was wrong to think it was me. *Refer back to line 76 of this episode. Marvin speaks dismissively. Marvin Line 119) Those reasons sound ridiculous to me, which is why I always disregarded my father's pressure. I just want to wait until I find and settle down with the right person on my own accord, no matter how long that takes. Calista speaks understandingly, her tone inquisitive about a realization she's come to. Calista Line 120) That's reasonable... You mentioned your mother passed away when you were a baby.* Does that mean Luna was already born? *Refer back to line 107 of this episode.
