Talulla and Calista return to their place and unwind for the night, doing their usual nightly routines. In Talulla's room, she and Calista hang out together, the pink walls illuminating a cozy environment with candles and lamps lit, emitting a comforting hue. The girls are in their pajamas, wearing skin-care masks. Talulla continues reading the pamphlet the front desk lady handed them, looking deeply enthralled as she lays on her bed. Calista scrolls on her phone, sitting on Talulla's rug on the ground, leaning her back against the bed. She inhales the pleasant aroma of the candles, letting out a sigh of delight from the citrusy fragrance. She looks over her shoulder, tilting her head up to observe how engaged Talulla seems on her bed while reading the pamphlet. She questions her in curiosity. Calista Line 1) Just wondering, why are there so many candles lit? Don't get me wrong, I love the smell, but it seems like you're up to something. Care to share? Talulla answers Calista nonchalantly. Talulla Line 2) The affirmation ceremonies call for a bunch of candles. Calista raises her eyebrows in confusion, wondering what Talulla is going on about. Calista Line 3) The affirmation ceremonies? Talulla replies enthusiastically, acting as if doing something like an "affirmation ceremony" is a common thing. Talulla Line 4) Mhm. I was thinking we should try one. Calista continues questioning Talulla to elaborate further since she's giving little to no context. Calista Line 5) Where is this interest coming from? Talulla speaks informatively. Talulla Line 6) I read it on the pamphlet. We should really get into manifesting. It's what everyone is doing right now. Might as well hop on the hype train. Talulla shows Calista what's written on the pamphlet, pointing at the affirmations detailed on the pages. Talulla Line 7) See? Calista speaks skeptically, her doubt overpowering. Calista Line 8) Not to be a Debby downer, but it's not like this stuff's magic. We don't have a genie lamp on our hands. Talulla gives Calista a look of annoyance, speaking in a manner of irritation from Calista's pessimism. Talulla Line 9) There you go again being such a negative Nancy. Of course, it's not magic, but affirmations are scientifically proven to work to an extent. It's not just a bunch of hooey. Calista replies in a snarky tone. Calista Line 10) Emphasis on the words "to an extent." Talulla lets out a sigh of exhaustion from Calista's arrogancy. Calista observes Talulla's faithfulness, taking into consideration how she must be feeling. Line 11) Calista's inner thoughts: Honestly, I'm being no fun right now. What's gotten into me? Calista tries to maneuver the situation, thinking of Talulla thoughtfully. Line 12) Calista's inner thoughts: If she's so engaged in this kind of stuff, the least I could do is feed into it. I should match her energy. Calista speaks apologetically, her voice filled with open-mindedness. Calista Line 13) Sorry for being a wet blanket. We can give it a shot. Talulla smirks at Calista, feeling fulfilled by her compliance. Talulla Line 14) I'm stumped on which one we should do, though. Calista speaks inquisitively. Calista Line 15) May I have the honor of choosing? Talulla hands Calista the pamphlet, letting her look over it to make her selection. Calista flips to a random page, pointing that they try the ceremony her finger lands on. She speaks casually. Calista Line 16) Let's try this one. Talulla reads the instructions out loud. _________________________________________________________ Ceremony Instructions: Want something special in your life to occur? Try this! ❤ Hold hands with yourself or with a companion and close your eyes. ❤ Say "Let time take its course" five times in a row and anticipate your surprise to arrive soon. _________________________________________________________ Talulla responds in captivation. Talulla Line 17) Ooh~ This one sounds nice~ Maybe this is when our life-changing moment will occur?* *Remember that this is what the psychic told Talulla would happen to her and Calista (refer back to episode 2, lines 56 and 102, etc). Talulla grins smugly, feeling faithful about what they're going to do. Calista smiles at Talulla wholesomely, appreciating her company. She pats a spot on the rug beside her encouragingly. Calista Line 18) Sit on the ground with me. Let's get this started. Talulla sits beside Calista, the two of them moving to face each other for the ceremony. Talulla speaks instructively. Talulla Line 19) Okay. We have to hold hands and make sure to keep our eyes closed. Let's make sure we follow these instructions to a tee. Calista and Talulla hold each other's hands, getting ready to start the ceremony. Talulla Line 20) Repeat the affirmation five times in a row. Start now. The two of them close their eyes, saying the affirmation. Together Line 21) "Let time take its course. Let time take its course. Let time take its course. Let time take its course. Let time take its course." A couple of seconds after they finish, they open their eyes, observing that nothing has changed. Talulla's eyebrows furrow in disappointment. Calista notices her crushed spirit, offering reassurance. Calista Line 22) Hey. As I mentioned, this stuff's not magic. We have to do it continuously until we manifest whatever we wish into our lives. That's how affirmations work, after all. Calista speaks suggestingly, wanting to cheer Talulla up. Calista Line 23) Of course, it'd be fun if something happened right away. Let's try implementing this ceremony into our routines and see how things change. Talulla replies in a tone of defeat. Talulla Line 24) Yeah, okay. You're right... Talulla speaks in a manner of frustration, yearning for a miracle to occur. Talulla Line 25) I just... really felt like something was going to happen. It seemed like we were casting a spell of some sort just now. If only magic was real. Calista pats Talulla's head, trying to lift her spirits. Calista Line 26) I wish something magical would happen right now, too. But good things take time. We just have to be patient. Talulla nods her head, feeling immensely bummed out. Calista checks the time on her phone, noticing that she should wash her skin-care mask off. She gets up, making her way over to their bathroom. She speaks to Talulla informatively. Calista Line 27) I'm going to wash off my mask. I'll be back. Let's watch a movie afterward. Pick something out. Talulla answers glumly. Talulla Line 28) Kay. I'll wash mine off after you. Calista nods her head, exiting Talulla's room. Talulla leans her head back on her head, feeling deeply disappointed. She lets out a yearnful sigh, trying to cheer herself up by thinking back to what Calista said. Line 29) Talulla's inner thoughts: As the affirmation says, I should "let time take its course", huh? Talulla lays down on her ground in defeat, feeling hopeless. Her nose wrinkles eagerly. Line 30) Talulla's inner thoughts: Ugh! But I want something to happen right now! The silence in Talulla's room gets overtaken by a sudden glitching noise. She sits up, her eyebrows furrowing in concern. She thinks in confusion. Line 31) Talulla's inner thoughts: What's that noise? Talulla stands up, wandering around her room to analyze where the sound could be coming from. Finding nothing, when she turns around, she observes a strange glitchy hologram materializing right before her eyes. Her eyes bulge in disconcertion, questioning what she is looking at. Line 32) Talulla's inner thoughts: What the hell is that? The glitching noises get louder, making her body jolt in fright. She looks around her room in confusion, gazing back at the mystical hologram floating in thin air in shock. Suddenly, a gust of wind hits Talulla's face, coming out of nowhere, with every object in her room being affected, floating and swirling around in circles. The candles she lit start sparking on and off. Talulla looks around her room in utter disbelief, unable to process what is going on. She calls for Calista in a panic. Talulla Line 33) CALISTA! COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW! *Shot cuts to Calista overhearing Talulla's memo all the way from the bathroom. She dismisses the suggestion, seeming way too focused on washing her skin-care mask off, as it takes a lot of scrubbing from its adherence on her face. Line 34) Calista's inner thoughts: She's probably found a bug. I'll handle that as soon as this stubborn little mask comes off my face. Talulla continues to call Calista, her voice frantic. Talulla Line 35) COME ON, CALISTA! GET IN HERE NOW! I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! Calista releases a sigh of annoyance, storming back into Talulla's room to see what's up, not finishing washing her face. Line 36) Calista's inner thoughts: This girl has no patience! Calista enters Talulla's room, ready to yell at her in frustration. Calista Line 37) WHA- Calista stops herself, glancing around Talulla's room in shock as to what is happening. She questions her in astonishment. Calista Line 38) WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! Talulla replies anxiously. Talulla Line 39) I DON'T KNOW! They look at each other in concern, unable to fathom the wonder occurring in Talulla's room. The glitchy hologram at the center of Talulla's room starts flickering, forming what looks to be a portal. Out of the portal, a shoe extends itself. Calista and Talulla look at each other, feeling flabbergasted, and approach each other for a hug of protection. With the portal forming from bottom to top, legs accompany the shoes, along with a torso and arms. The body is masculine, wearing a black suit with finely polished dress shoes. A man sticks his head out of the portal, his eyes closed, his hair dark and at a mid-length. Fully forming in their room, the man comes out of the portal, with the whirlwind in Talulla's room continuing to rage. The portal abruptly closes, with Calista and Talulla looking at each other in horror from the strangeness that has just happened. The whirlwind abruptly dissipates, with all the items in Talulla's room falling leaving her room in a state of catastrophe. The candles she lit earlier blow out, with the lights in her room turning off, leaving it pitch black. Calista and Talulla stand beside each other, left utterly speechless. Talulla switches the main light in her room on, brightening up the mess that has just been made, along with the random man who suddenly appeared. The man opens his eyes as if he has just gained consciousness, looking around his surroundings disconcertedly, not knowing where he is. Calista and Talulla hug each other once again, backing away from the man in fear. A moment of silence commences, with everyone glancing at each other in shock. The man touches his body, processing reality. Guy Line 40) What the... Am I dead?! The girls scream at the man after he speaks, huddling to a corner together in fright. Talulla speaks in confusion. Talulla Line 41) Wh-what the hell?! The man flinches from the girls' piercing screams, glancing around Talulla's room disconcertedly. Talulla throws her slipper at the man in self-defense. The man yells at Talulla from hurting him, his voice offended. Guy Line 42) Hey! What was that for?! The girls scream at the man even more, latching onto each other in fear. Talulla speaks in disbelief. Talulla Line 43) H-he's real! He's really real! The guy corrects Talulla in frustration, questioning them in shock. Guy Line 44) Of course, I'm real. Just what the hell is going on?! Talulla yells at the man, wanting answers out of him. Talulla Line 45) Who are you?! Where did you come from?! The guy yells back at Talulla disconcertedly. Guy Line 46) I could ask you the same! How did I get here?! And who the hell are you?! Talulla speaks in a manner of confusion. Talulla Line 47) You came out of that thing that was just there! It's gone now! Talulla questions the man in fright. Talulla Line 48) Are you an alien?! Go back to where you came from! The guy speaks in disbelief, unable to fathom how he suddenly appeared out of the blue. Guy Line 49) I-I... d-don't know what to say. Talulla continues pleading with the man, desperate for him to leave. Talulla Line 50) We're innocent! Get out of my room! The guy looks at Talulla and Calista in distraught. Guy Line 51) This is your room?! Talulla nods her head in confusion, wondering why the man speaks with such distaste upon that realization. The guy speaks ashamedly, feeling intrusive. Guy Line 52) Good grief! I must make haste! Of all places, why did I appear in a woman's room?! The guy glances around Talulla's room in severe confusion, walking towards her door to exit. Line 53) Guy's inner thoughts: This room... What's with the style of it? Things don't look right. Struggling to open the door out of nervousness, the man looks distressed, feeling overwhelmed about everything. He finally manages to open the door, exiting Talulla's room swiftly. He slightly wobbles, feeling dizzy due to his disorientation. He walks around the apartment's hallway, finding a mirror near the exit placed above a drawer (inside the drawer are keys and a bunch of other items for storage). The man stares at himself in disbelief, in denial of his presence. Line 54) Guy's inner thoughts: This must be some sort of dream! There's no way this is real life! The girls sneak out of Talulla's room, observing the man aggressively pinching his cheeks as he stares at himself in the mirror in their hallway. He slaps himself in the face, shocked that he is now waking up. He speaks in existential astonishment. Guy Line 55) How am I awake?! I don't understand! I don't belong here! How did I end up here?! This isn't real! Calista takes a deep breath, trying to process everything that is happening to them. She chooses to accept everything as it is, chiming in a tone of concern to calm the man down, seeing as he's so frazzled. Calista Line 56) S-sir. Try to calm down. We'll try to get this situation settled. The man breathes heavily, looking around the girls' place disconcertedly. He questions them in fright, looking at them in distress. Guy Line 57) A restroom. Please show me to one. Calista speaks informatively, pointing to the bathroom near him. Calista Line 58) Over there, sir. Take your time. The man follows Calista's finger to the bathroom, scurrying inside of it frantically. Calista rubs her face in distress, staring at Talulla in confusion. Line 59) Calista's inner thoughts: Just what the hell is going on? After rubbing her face, Calista feels something on her hands, looking at the unwashed facemask residue left on her fingers. She approaches the mirror the man had just been staring at, observing the facemask on her face. Line 60) Calista's inner thoughts: That's right. My mask is still on. How scary do I look? Talulla observes Calista's realization, touching her face to feel the dry clay facemask on her skin as well, realizing that it's been on this entire time. Calista makes her way over to the kitchen, washing her face in the sink, with Talulla trailing behind her to do the same, the two of them not knowing how to go about what just happened. In the bathroom, the man turns the faucet on, slapping his face with water. He pleads to himself desperately. Guy Line 61) Come on! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! The girls wash their face masks off, sitting beside each other on their living room couch in disbelief, trying to process the things that have unfolded. Calista questions Talulla in confusion. Calista Line 62) What just happened? Talulla answers in disconcertion, trying to wrap her brain around the events they've endured. Talulla Line 63) I- I don't know. Some random guy appeared in our room, God knows how. Talulla and Calista glance at each other upon realization. Calista questions Talulla confirmingly. Calista Line 64) A random guy? Talulla processes their realization, piecing together explanations. Talulla Line 65) Th-that would mean" Flashbacks flood Talulla as she tries to recall the moments before the man appeared, prompting her to come up with an explanation for the situation. A lightbulb turns on inside her mind, her face grim as she concludes. Talulla Line 66) The psychic said a random guy would come into our lives.* *Refer back to episode 2, lines 56, 95, 102, 105, etc. Calista looks at Talulla in disbelief, comprehending what she's getting at. Calista Line 67) And all of this just so happened to unfold after we did the affirmation ceremony from the pamphlet they handed us... Calista speaks in denial, not wanting to believe that the affirmation ceremony made a man appear in their room. Calista Line 68) Maybe we're dreaming. A part of a hidden camera show. This could just be a prank. Maybe even a magic trick... Talulla speaks in a manner of disoriented acceptance, trying to make Calista come to her senses. Talulla Line 69) None of that is plausible. Think about it. The ceremony explains everything. It's the reason that guy appeared in our room. Calista shakes her head no, her expression overwhelmed. Talulla justifies her claim. Talulla Line 70) What else would explain what just happened? The psychic clearly stated that we would endure a life-changing event that would involve a man that we have yet to meet up until now. Calista passionately objects to Talulla's reasoning, continuing to be in denial, feeling surreal. Calista Line 71) There's just no way! This is all way too fantastical! Talulla places her hand on Calista's shoulder, gazing into her eyes sternly to break the news to her. Talulla Line 72) Calista. We did the ceremony, and this man appeared in my room out of nowhere. THIS IS THAT LIFE-CHANGING EVENT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Calista shouts at Talulla in disbelief, not wanting to come to terms with the truth. Calista Line 73) NO WAY! Talulla ingrains the truth into Calista, matching her energy by shouting back at her. Talulla Line 74) YES WAY! Calista speaks in a tone of desperation, unable to fathom reality. Calista Line 75) Th-this can't be real! Magic doesn't exist! Talulla continues helping Calista understand. Talulla Line 76) It does, though! Is what happened just now not enough proof for you?! Calista abruptly stands up, pacing around their living room in a panic. *Back in the bathroom, the man gives up on trying to wake himself up, gripping the bowl of the sink in defeat, back lurched in anguish. Guy Line 77) I-I... am conscious... This can't be real! After taking a few deep breaths and pulling his wits together, the man finally exits the bathroom, making his way through the girls' place. He stumbles upon them in the living room, glancing at them hesitantly. They look back at him in apprehension. He speaks to them nervously. Guy Line 78) H-hello. I do not wish to frighten you ladies. I just want to know what happened because I am very confused. Calista stops her pacing, sitting back down on the couch beside Talulla. Talulla glances at Calista for reassurance in revealing what they've concluded to the man. She begins her explanation, feeling uncertain. Talulla Line 79) We're not 100% sure ourselves. But to give you some context, we did this affirmation ceremony ritual thing just for fun. I- I mean, we didn't think something like this would happen... Talulla speaks descriptively, her face full of emotion. Talulla Line 80) And then, all of a sudden, it's as if a whirlwind came into my room, causing all of my belongings to float in the air. I kept hearing this strange glitchy noise ring loudly, and the candles that I lit for the ceremony started flickering for some reason. The man tries to comprehend what Talulla is saying, feeling shocked by the words coming out of her mouth. Line 81) Guy's inner thoughts: Affirmation ceremony ritual? Seems like something otherworldly has occurred. Something that involves magic. But how is any of that real? It's utterly unbelievable to comprehend. The man swallows hard, speaking to Talulla and Calista anxiously. Guy Line 82) A-are you ladies of another dimension? Are we even still on earth? I find you gals quite different, especially with those vibrant hair colors.* *Remember that Calista and Talulla have colorful hair. Talulla's hair is pink, and Calista's hair is blue (refer back to episode 1, details in between lines 90 and 91, and lines 146 and 147). Talulla looks at Calista in disbelief, responding in disconcertion. Talulla Line 83) Y-yes... I'm pretty sure we're not from another dimension. Are y-you, by any chance? The man looks at his hands in disbelief, rubbing his head in distress. Line 84) Guy's inner thoughts: I don't even know anymore! What if I am? He responds in uncertainty. Guy Line 85) I... I reckon I am of this reality. The man starts pacing back and forth, feeling immensely stressed. Guy Line 86) Continue with your explanation. I-I am just feeling a bit unwell. Talulla hesitates but begins from where she left off. Talulla Line 87) I can't describe it, but it looked like a hologram materialized out of thin air, forming into what I'm guessing is a portal that you came out of. The guy speaks agreeably, feeling understood by Talulla's explanation. Guy Line 88) The same thing happened where I was! I don't know what that thing is, but I sure as hell didn't walk through it, though it seems like I did since I suddenly appeared in your room. Talulla looks at Calista in shock again. She runs out of things, sitting in silence, feeling speechless. Calista thinks through what the man mentioned earlier. Line 89) Calista's inner thoughts: He finds us different, emphasizing our hair colors... Line 90) Calista's inner thoughts: But that's a pretty normal thing to have nowadays. Many wouldn't say it's different, so why does he? Calista analyzes the man, observing his appearance. Line 91) Calista's inner thoughts: There's something about him that's off. He looks quite posh. Maybe even a little old-fashioned to the eye... Calista's eyes bulge in shock when she puts her finger on a reason. Line 92) Calista's inner thoughts: Could it be that he's from the past? Calista takes over speaking, questioning the guy curiously. Calista Line 93) This may be the craziest thing I've ever said, but are you from our time? The man stops his pacing, looking at Calista in disbelief. He answers her hesitantly. Guy Line 94) I believe so. The guy tries to analyze his surroundings and thoughts to give a more certain answer. Line 95) Guy's inner thoughts: But everything in this building looks so different. It's like I don't belong here. Like I'm in another universe. Could I really be in the future? The man's eyes widen upon realization, questioning Calista apprehensively to confirm his fears. Guy Line 96) Th-this may be the most absurd thing I've ever said, but do you mind telling me what year it is? Expressions of immense shock engulf the girls' faces. Calista swallows nervously, speaking anxiously. Calista Line 97) The year is 2023. The man's face turns pale, his expression in deep and utter disbelief. He makes his way back over to the mirror in the hallway, pinching his face frantically. The girls follow him, observing what he's up to. Talulla reassures the man. Talulla Line 98) Sir, you're not asleep. This is real life. The guy yells at Talulla in distress. Guy Line 99) BUT HOW?! HOW DID I GET HERE?! Talulla looks taken aback, not expecting the guy to yell at her. The guy speaks in an apologetic manner, trying to gather his wits, faltering back overwhelmingly. Guy Line 100) Forgive me. I-I just... I'm speechless! The guy takes in deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. Calista questions him curiously, wanting to get to the bottom of his origin. Calista Line 101) Wh-what year are you from, sir? The man glances at Calista hopelessly, speaking in denial. Guy Line 102) 1967... Talulla's jaw drops in disbelief. Calista takes in a deep breath, delving back into their conversation. Calista Line 103) Can you try recalling your last moments before you ended up here? The man tries to gather his thoughts, explaining everything to them. Guy Line 104) I was attending a dinner party with my friends. As I was about to sip my drink, I felt my head turning blank as I saw that portal projector thingy appearing in front of my very eyes, as you had mentioned earlier. After that, I think I lost consciousness. The man starts feeling faint, his eyes suddenly weighing heavy. Line 105) Guy's inner thoughts: Here comes that sensation again. Calista notices the man looking unwell, questioning him in concern. Calista Line 106) Are you okay, sir? The man rubs his head, trying to come to his senses. Guy Line 107) I just feel a bit light-headed. Please give me a moment to adjust. The man's hands start to go limp, and his whole body shortly after, too. He falls to the ground on his face, his butt propped up in the air cartoonishly. Talulla winces from the fall, feeling the man's pain. Talulla Line 108) Oof! That had to hurt. Help me pick him up. Calista gets up along with Talulla, the two of them picking the guy up and walking over to lay him down on the couch. The both of them loom over him in concern. Talulla questions Calista in worry. Talulla Line 109) Do you think he broke his nose? Calista speaks reassuringly, notes of uncertainty adamant in her voice. Calista Line 110) It just looks a bit red, but I think he'll be okay. Poor guy fell right on his face. Talulla lets out a sigh of exhaustion, speaking casually afterward. Talulla Line 111) Well, I'm off to bed. Calista looks at Talulla in shock, questioning her in offense for just walking away from their situation. Calista Line 112) What? Hey! You can't just leave me with him. Plus, what are we going to do? Talulla answers Calista in a tired voice, releasing a yawn of restlessness. Talulla Line 113) I don't know, but it's really late. So we should just pick up from here tomorrow. Calista questions Talulla in confusion. Calista Line 114) How are you able to act so casually right now? Talulla replies nonchalantly, trying to get Calista off her back. Talulla Line 115) There's nothing I can do about this at the moment. So, I'm just going to deal with it tomorrow and go about my life as usual. Calista continues questioning Talulla, unable to comprehend her sudden, relaxed attitude. Calista Line 116) How will you be able to sleep? Talulla answers Calista in exhaustion. Talulla Line 117) Normally. It's a bodily reaction that occurs when you feel tired. How else? Calista speaks puzzlingly. Calista Line 118) Obviously, but won't this keep you up? Talulla answers impatiently. Talulla Line 119) I already told you. It's a problem for tomorrow, and I'm tired. Calista speaks in a reluctant manner. Calista Line 120) So, I have to guard him? Talulla speaks reassuringly. Talulla Line 121) I'm not leaving you with any tasks. Just go to bed as you usually do. Set this off to the side for now. Calista speaks in a precautious tone. Calista Line 122) But what if he wakes up and leaves or something? Talulla answers in a manner of relief. Talulla Line 123) That would honestly be for the better. He wouldn't be our problem any longer. Calista glances at Talulla in disapproval. Line 124) Calista's inner thoughts: How can she say something like that? Talulla makes her way over to her room, leaving Calista with the passed-out guy on the couch. Calista sits on a sofa beside the man, letting out a sigh of distress. Calista's narration: Line 125) I guess that leaves me on watch duty. Line 126) I won't be able to sleep anyway after what's occurred. Calista rubs her head anxiously, feeling lost on what to do and questioning everything that has happened for the night. Line 127) How is any of this humanly possible? Calista ponders and ponders until her eyes weigh heavy, shutting and drifting her into a deep sleep on the sofa.
